In writing this review I hope to: A) provide fair warning to new potential patients B) provide some suggestions for improvement to the business owner. With any review of a medial service my feedback is related to both the Office Staff as well as the Doctor. My experience with the Office Staff was unlike anything I have experienced in a professional environment. I had a few needs that required having to contact the front office, make a few additional visits to the office to pick up products and requesting additional billing details necessary to fulfill my medial claim. The woman who informed me she was the manager of the front office was incredibly rude and treated me as though I had something terribly wrong when I requested simple information. She was passive aggressive and condescending in her tone towards me - the opposite set of professional skills this position should possess. In reading the previous reviews, I am clearly not the first person to call out this specific individual and I truly hope that the business owner listens to voice of their customers and their complaints so that they can make the necessary changes to course-correct. My experience with Dr. Cohen was pleasant and easy. It was what I have come to expect for typical eye exams and contact prescription assessments. The reason I have weighed this portion of my experience with Eye Concepts is because he issued a weaker prescription than what I have had in the past. I trusted his advice and unfortunately am having difficulty with my long distance and night vision, and therefore need to get a new exam to get the corrected prescription. In all my experiences dealing with eye doctors, this has been the worst. I believe in our society we vote everyday in how we choose to spend our money, and I suggest not voting for this business in its current condition and the makeup of their office personnel.

I wanted to complain about the scandalous "service" my mother received from Barry Cohens team. I would give them no stars, if that were an option. I stopped into the office to ask if they could fix my mothers glasses, since they had broken AGAIN. They said the part alone was $250. When I inquired as to why a very tiny piece of plastic was $250. The receptionist was horribly rude. Her response, "well, when you buy a Porsche, you have to pay for the parts." My mother is a senior citizen on a fixed income. Why on earth did they sell her the "Porsche" of glasses? They charged a senior citizen with memory problems and a limited income $1700 for a pair of eyeglasses. Glasses that broke twice within in a few months needing expensive repairs. This is appalling, reprehensible, and borderline criminal. Shame on you Dr. Cohen for taking advantage of the elderly.

Dr Cohen and his practice quite literally saved my sight. It was damaged by another doctor who prescribed contact lenses that were ill-fitting and too strong a correction. Over time he restored the health of my eyes. This is what makes him so valuable to have in your corner. It is not just about clarity of vision, he focuses on the health of the eyes. He gave expert guidance during a vitreous detachment and monitors changes quickly to ensure no casualty from delayed treatment. Dr. Cohen invests wisely in the latest technology so his judgment is informed by the best of medical science. I believe he has a more modern practice that most of his peers would envy. My only regret is that it took me so long to find this excellent practitioner. I recommend him without hesitation.

After a long wait and an unpleasant experience with a rude/disgruntled staff member, I finally got to see the Doctor. He was friendly, smart, and personable. I would go back next year if it wasnt for the continually rude behavior of his front of the office staff members who are consistently able to shock me by the behavior to me and other patients. Dont waste your time at this place.

I had a serious cornea scratch and Dr. Barry Cohen quickly diagnosed it, and then spent about an hour treating the injury and going over what needs to be done to heal it. The price of that visit was more than fair, less than I expected for an emergency treatment. Thats the eye doctor to go to, when you need one.

Dr. Cohen is very thorough and keeps your informed every step of the way during the exam process, and he does it in a very warm and friendly way. It was actually fun to go to see this doctor. I felt he really knows his stuff and I was being well taken care of. I will definitely recommend him to my friends.
