Sadly, our amazing dog, Zeus, was just too ill to get better. Our family loved him dearly bit we new it was his time. It was clear we had to do our best to make sure his crossing over was without fear, pain or anxiety. For me, death is a part of life that we ignore, fear and focus on as a sad thing. I wanted to celebrate Zeus so that he would cross over feeling loved, adored and safe. He was such an awesome dog who brought so much love, laughter and joy to me, my husband and our family and friends. His companionship made some of the harder and bumpier parts of lifes road easier and I wanted to honor that. It was indeed one of the saddest days of my life but also, it was an honor to be a shepard for Zeus in this life and to the next. Zeus had the best end possible for any living creature: at home, surrounded by his favorite humans, being loved and adored, and then he went to sleep. It was an ending fit for a king and one that most humans hope they get when it is their time. In home euthanasia was the only option for us. Dr. Annie arrived at the time we agreed. She came in and was very calm and loving. It was a peaceful and quiet passing, Zeus was so sweet, at rest and finally without pain. The whole room burst into tears at this point. It was an amazing experience, one that was fitting for such a wonderful dog like Zeus. Dr. Annie made the experience much easier for us. We cried all day and night but despite the fact we knew he had to go, the service Dr. Annie provides allowed us to give Zeus the going away party he deserved. I highly recommend Home Pet Euthanasia of Southern California for in-home euthanasia. It allows you to celebrate or mourn your animal friend the way you need and want to, in the comfort of your home, so your animal is not nervous or more afraid than they already are. Dr. Annie has a lovely demeanor, very kind and gentle, and is good at her job. She is professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and understanding. Im thankful we had the option to call on her when our dog needed help crossing over.

I cannot recommend Dr. Annie Forslund highly enough! She is an Angel on Earth and she has truly found her calling. She provides her service with the perfect balance of professionalism, patience and compassion. From the moment Dr. Annie walked through our front door, we felt like we had known her for a long time. She embraced us with warm hugs and patiently talked with us about our decision. She gave us plenty of time to say goodbye to our sweet 14-year-old Shih-Tzu, Boo Boo. Letting Boo go in the comfort and peacefulness of our home, sitting in front of the fireplace on her favorite blanket - we couldnt have imagined a more respectful way to honor our precious family member, than to let her go with graceful dignity and with Dr. Annies loving support. Before we made our appointment with Dr. Annie, it helped me so much to be able to read all the information offered on her website. Of course, we didnt want to acknowledge that it was time for us to put Boo Boo down, but after reading about how to decide if it is time, and how to detect the symptoms of pain in pets, I was reassured that we were making the right decision. I greatly appreciate how thoroughly the website deals with every aspect of euthanasia. I spoke with Annies husband, Todd, and another staff member on the phone. They were both professional, compassionate, patient, and respectful as well. I have another 14-year-old dog and when the time comes to ease her suffering, I wont hesitate to call Dr. Annie again. I have recommended Home Pet Euthanasia to every pet owner I know!!!

My sweet Boston Terrier, Merlin, companion of many years and my very best friend, had somehow gotten out of his gate and was pulverized in a hit-and-run right outside our family home. Dr. Forslund had been Merlins vet, and though it was the middle of the night, I knew I could call her. She is the kind of doctor who truly LOVES animals, who wants their peace and well-being more than anything else, who will get up at a moments notice if it means saving a life. We tried at the hospital all night to save Merlin...but eventually it became apparent that he would not make it. Having to lose Merlin there in the sterile, terrifying environment of an animal hospital, much less he had never been to, with the panic in his eyes, his labored breathing...it was just too much. He was as afraid of the hospital as of the pain. I was able to hold Merlin in my arms and sing him our favorite Irish lullabies in the comfort and privacy of home as Dr. Forslund administered painkillers, sedatives, and finally, the euthanasia solution. The relief we sensed when Merlin passed was striking. He had been in so much pain for hours, and we didnt want him to suffer a minute longer. His passing was peaceful, sensitive, and loving--no last shuddering breaths, no convulsions. Dr. Forslund was a compassionate friend during this numbing time. Home Pet Euthanasia gave him and I a dignified end to a beautiful relationship. I would strongly recommend this service to anyone who finds themselves in the unfortunate circumstances of having to say goodbye.

Dr. Annie is one of the most loving, empathetic, and kind hearted humans you could ever want to meet. She greeted me with a giant hug, and cried with me as I said goodbye to my best friend, Mr. Buddy. She allowed me as much time as I needed to say goodbye and just knew when to hug me, what to say, and when to allow me alone time with my sweet boy. She made the experience as loving and caring as possible, and I know that having her come to the house was the right decision for Mr. Buddy, as well as for me. Saying goodbye to your best friend is the hardest thing a person ever has to do. Somehow, Dr. Annie made this very sorrowful experience a meaningful one, full of love and sweetness. I will forever be grateful to her. Her gentle nature, obvious love for animals and humans, and professionalism are so appreciated. I also am so grateful for the very thoughtful way that Mr. Buddys ashes were returned to me. They were hand-delivered to my door, in a beautiful cedar box with a heart pendant that had Mr. Buddys name engraved in it. It feels so much better to have my baby back home with me. Thank you, Dr. Annie.

Dr. Annie is a true angel, and has helped us with end of life for two of our beloved dogs. She and her team are the most kind, caring and supportive friends you can imagine during a very difficult time. Most recently, she helped us manage pain in our beloved greyhound, Jack, during the last weeks of his life. She came to see him at our home and spent an hour with us checking him over and talking about his issues. When it was time to end his suffering, she was here to provide a peaceful, calm and loving end for him on his own bed, being held by his people who loved him so. We will never take a pet to an office for euthanasia again, this is so much better for the pet and his people, too. It is good to know that we did all we could for him in his final weeks and days, thanks to Dr. Annies help.
