My daughter was brought here she had been in a bad car wreck. she is Neuroscience ICU all ribs on left side broken, lacerated liver, 3broken ribs right side, collapsed lung on the left, broken bones in back not affecting spinal cord , and she is on a respirator to breathe tubes spun throat. She is stable now . This is going to be a long road to recovery. I have been here a week, the accommodations for family members is horrible, wehave been sleeping in chairs, not the kind that fold out flat so you can stretch out either, a couple people in different families brought matts to lay on the floor, the first few days it was ok but now they are being told by some security officers they cannot sleep on the floor. the people in this ICU waiting room are not here because we want to be ... We are here because something tragic has happened to a family member...some have died...all we want to is be close to our loved ones. My daughter had spine surgery 2days ago,the same day my sister who came to visit was told she had pneumonia I wasnt told there is a problem with communication here one trauma Doctor told me they cant call and give me an update everyday ,and in 5 hours she has to have surgery to rebuild her left rib cage(rib fixation), I live 45mins away and I dont want to leave my 19 year old daughter alone. We as family dont feel as if the hospital wants us here, and our love and touch helps also with the healing the injured family feels loved . Please try to make this waiting room a little more comfortable and add decent fold out chairs maybe an ice maker and a microwave . Thank you

4/11/15 Ive been a visitor in here several times and I love the giant parking garage out front. Patient guest parking is floors 5 - 8, with reserved parking on the lower levels. 10 mph speed limit with digital signs posting your speed the entire way up, so go slow. Near the main hospital entrance is free valet. Once inside, security will check you in with your ID, look up the patients room number, and point you in the right direction. Ive mostly had great experiences at this front desk. The rooms are pretty nice and its easy to find your way around. ER is in the back of the hospital with its on entrance off Ygnacio, and the main hospital is most easily accessed from La Casa Via.

Good care. ..outrageous billing practices. $6250 for a $1200 echocardiogram.....$7990 for a room for 9 hours.....highway robbery....bills from Doctors I never saw.....2 chest xrays one in my room at admittance at 8pm and another one at 7am in the xray lab that was not necessary. My Doctor was chasing me around in the hospital when he got there in the AM and told the Echo lab tech that the test she was doing was un necessary. This hospital is not to be trusted....they assign a "Hospitalist" to youbwhen you arrive. This is an in house Doctor. I ASK MY DOCTOR WHAT A HOSPITALIST WAS and he said the hospital assigns one to you so they can run up your bill before I get here. WOW.

My mom is currently a patient at JMW in the Trauma ICU 2nd floor. The nurses that care for her round the clock are phenomenal. My older sister and I like to stay over night with mom because in case she woke up she saw a familiar face and also for translatating for mom. But they sent us home so we may rest up for her transition to home. The Neurosurgeon and Doctors are all great at easing our minds and emotions. They thoroughly explain moms condition, treatment and outcomes. This is our favorite hospital.I myself had surgery here a couple years back. My great nephew was born here as well as my first grand child. JMW has been good to us

I give high regards to CCICU and ICU. My boyfriend was in a major accident. He was in a coma for 2 months. His ongoing care was phenomenal, they were there for him round the clock, on time with his medications changing his bandages. Eventually, when he did wake up physical therapy was there for him on time to transition him to better care. This hospital deserves more Stars than what they offer! I dont drive, I came from Fremont California, I would take 2 BART Trains and the Shuttle. So convenient for the patients family. Thank you so much

$5000 for a dislocated pinkie finger. Would not give me an OTC Tylenol, instead directed me to a Safeway at 2:00AM. Failed to bill my insurance. When I called regarding the error they said, "Oh, I see, they did photocopy your information". Then sent me a bill for $0. Followed up months later with a bill for the entire thing. FINALLY got it right today, August 28, 97 days later and have the nerve to report the bill as 90 days late. Horrible experience all around.

I cannot recommend John Muir Medical Center enough. My mother had an endoscopy performed on January 23, 2012 under the care of Dr. Zamani. From the moment she stepped inside, she mentioned that she felt as if she was a guest at a 5 star hotel. The nurses could not have been more helpful and kind, and they tried to make her as comfortable as possible. Every service was performed with a smile. My father was also treated with consideration and respect.

John Muir is a fraud. The doctor there did nothing but a simple blood test, then they claimed around $1,800 bill on me with around $1,200 out of pocket. For a simple circumcision surgery, they claimed on $33,800 bill on me with around $3,800 out of pocket. If you got a subtle leg sprain, the doctor would send you for an ultrasonic scan without doing anything else and charge you around $1,900 out of pocket! a vampire living on blood!

I had outpatient surgery here and was impressed with their care. I work in healthcare, and used to work in a surgery center. The nurses were attentive, schedule ran on time (obviously they cant fully control this, but some hospitals overbook ORs), and the anesthesiologist prevented the post op nausea I usually suffer. Their safety ratings are much better than the national average, too.

Went to the ER, diagnosed with a blood clot in my left calf and they quickly treated it. Received good quality care and attention here. And I like the fact that they had multiple people check up on you. Cant complain because they saved my life. 18 years old male healthy factor 2 mutation probably sat on my butt too much during break, 6-8 hours at times gaming or watching youtube.

John Muir is much better than it was years ago. It used to be so difficult to park and then navigate the hospital. Recently we visited my aunt who was on the 3rd (?) floor rehab and the team seemed very nice and responsive. She has been home for a few weeks and things seem to be going well. I certainly thank their team for our home care assistance as well.
