Hi, my name is Krystle…and I am a soccer addict. I play at least 5 times a week, coach for the LA Galaxy youth camps/clinics, and just LOVE the game . To say I am obsessed with this sport would be an understatement. So, you can only imagine my dismay when I injured myself…. After playing for about 4 hours one day…I was getting shooting pain down in my lower ankle to the back of my knee. I just dismissed the pain and my injuries got EXCRUCIATINGLY worse. I tried everything from icing it to wrapping my ankle. However, whenever I pointed my toe to shot the ball or put pressure on my ankle…it was instant PAIN. My leg was just not having it; whenever I ran my knee/ankle would hurt.. and unfortunately running is a big part of soccer. Finally, I dragged myself to the doctors. The diagnosis was that… I had tendonitis in my posterior tibia (fancy word for inner ankle) that ran all the way up to the back of my knee. I was referred to a sport physical therapy clinic and did that for about a month- went all out with ultrasounds, massages, hot/cold compress, and some other fancy stuff that was suppose to help…BUT IT DIDN’T. Super frustrated, I was willing to try anything and everything to get better. I was still in a lot of pain whenever I played. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING was helping my injuries go away. And that’s where Zia comes in… I had never tried acupuncture before and the thought of needles has always made me feel a bit squeamish/faintly. However, I was desperate for a solution and even sharp needles couldn’t scare me…kinda Zia said he was on a mission to get me back and playing as soon as possible and I was certainly on board with that. He made me feel very comfortable and relaxed through my entire first time experience with acupuncture. Zia is also a sports addict and even plays soccer too. So he understood and sympathized with me and on my need to get better quick! I was very confident in his more than capable hands and he certainly knew a lot about sports injuries. Zia explained to me the process of why acupuncture helps with injuries similar to mine-something about platelet rich plasma regeneration. I couldn’t tell you the exact science behind it (For I am not the one with the Master’s in Oriental Medicine from Berkeley) but I am sure any questions you would have…Zia would clearly and effectively answer them for you…the guy definitely knows his stuff! I didn’t realize that extent and amount of needles I would have to withstand and to be completely frank it was a bit uncomfortable at first..but let me tell you THIS… IN THE END.. IT WAS ALL WORTH IT. Just within a few sessions, I kid you not…my ankle pains were ALREADY going away. Zia also recommended me some herbal supplements which really helped accelerate my healing process. He is so knowledgeable with sport injuries and is a great option for people opting away from the tradition surgery methods. I have never believed in anything, but now I believe in acupuncture. I am so thankful to Zia for treating my ankle and knee when I thought NOTHING would work. I am completely and truly amazed by the results. I have now recommend Zia’s amazing acupuncture sessions to my teammates, friends, and even some of the kids I coach. To say that he is a miracle worker wouldn’t be far from the truth and I am soccer playing proof of it!

Align Health Center is THE BEST. The staff are always super sweet and super caring - they even have BBQs for patients in the summer. It feels like being part of a family more than being a patient. I have chronic back problems that leave me in a lot pain most of the time. Dr. Main and Dr. Adams are great at addressing my discomfort. They also offer massage, acupuncture - as well as great advice about nutrition and diet. I go to Align in place of my primary care doctor - as they always have great treatment advice that works with my overall health, instead of a doctor that will just put me on a lot of prescriptions.

I have suffered for over 20 years with lower back pain primarily due to sports injuries but at times due to sitting down at my desk while I work. In the past couple of years Ive been going to Align Health Center periodically and getting treated by Zia. Hes a great acupuncturist with fantastic bedside manner and a real empathetic way of listening and explaining things to his patients. I recommend Align Health Center highly and especially Zia with his great knowledge of medicine and how he applies that knowledge. Call in advance if you can, because it can be difficult to schedule walk in appointments with Zia.

Dr. Main is a great Chiropractor! He is informative and puts his patients best interest above his own! When patients are injured, they go see a Chiropractor... but where does a Chiropractor go when they need a "tune up?" We fly from Washington to California to see Dr. Main! That speaks volumes! Its never a good sign when you are on vacation and need to see a Chiropractor, but I am sure glad Dr. Main was to my rescue! I didnt feel rushed, and he took the time with me as he would with any of his patients. Patient - Passionate - Professional all in one. Thanks again David! Dr. Swoo
