7 years ago when i brought my 11 week old german shepherd to see this office. They told me he tested positive for heart worms, being a college student i could not afford the extremely expensive treatment. I continued to take him for the next 6 years. One year he hurt his paw so bad i thought it was broke, i took him in as an emergency and dr pytel was out so i had another vet working there at the time. He gave my dog a shot that made him extremely sleepy so he could get exrays.he stay knocked out for 8 hours after i got him home, which myself like others drove upwards of 30 minutes one way. Im talking so drugged i had to carry him to my car and then from my car. Last year i finally took him to my girlfriend who is a vet tech. I told her he had been diagnosed with heart worms. She ran tests, and evaluated his blood, along with sending it to an external company for a double check. ALL TEST CAME BACK NEGATIVE. They said the dog never had heart worms. It took 2 calls to dr pytels office to find out that they are using old tests, that are known to give false positives. When asking if they sent the blood work out to have it checked, they said no. They were more than willing to poisen my dog, which could have killed him, and charge me a lot of money, without a double check. When hearing this i told her about his paw that one year. She said they must have gave him too much and there should have been a shot to reverse the effects. I shower her his medication they prescribed him and she also said that is too much. I wrote this review just to help others. Be aware! I will not be returning to this vet.

We drive 45 minutes just to take our dog, Gracie, to this clinic! Every single staff member is kind, helpful and it is obvious that they truly care about your pet. We received an estimate from an unnamed vet to remove a stye from her eye that was over $800. We were referred to Pytel from a friend and decided to take her there for a second opinion. They are removing the stye, removing two small tumors, micro-chipping her and possibly extracting a tooth for roughly $500. Not only is this the most professional veterinary clinic Ive found- it is also the most affordable. Well worth the travel to know that my pet is in good hands.

Ive had nothing but positive, no pressure visits. My Golden girl tore her right ACL a few years back and Dr. Pytel fixed her up and the procedure didnt empty my bank account. When she did it again 2 yrs later to the other side I didnt hesitate. May thanks for the caring,skilled and compassionate Dr Pytel and his staff

Weve been going to Dr. Pytel since about 1998 and just love everyone there! It doesnt matter the occasion, when were there they make it a worth while visit! Very easy going, down to earth staff and so friendly too. We now live almost an hour away and gladly make the drive out to Goodrich!

Great Vet, Dr. Pytel is amazing as is the rest of the staff. Very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. They take care of all animals great and small except horses. They are one of the few that I know of that take care of goats as well.
