We have taken 2 pets to Total Pet Care. Our original experience neutering our dog was fine. When we had an emergency with our cat we decided to take him there as well. They discovered that he had a urinary blockage within the day. He was catheterized twice to relived the blockage and we were told that didnt work. Our only remaining option to save his life was surgery, which was never discussed at the beginning of treatment as an option or a possibility. His surgery was performed apparently successfully. However Saturday he was re-catheterized again after he failed to urinate. We we not contacted to authorize the extra charges or the procedure. Considering he was in a tiny cage with only newspapers as litter Im not surprised he didnt want to urinate in the same place he was forced to sleep. All told he was hospitalized for a full week. During that time he became absolutely filthy with urine, blood, food and feces. It didnt appear that any attempt was made to clean him before or after the surgery. It was difficult to be near him for several days due to the smell alone. In addition it took the vet 4 full days to question what type of food to feed him (wet or dry) since he wouldnt eat anything. Communication in general was very poor and we spoke to a different person nearly every conversation. It became a hassle just trying to find out how our cat was doing. At check out I requested an itemized bill before paying the balance for the surgery 3 catheters and 7 days of hospitalization and was told I would have to wait until after I paid. After paying discovered that I was also charged for a bag of prescription food that I didnt authorize nor wanted. They also forgot to give us his antibiotics and we were forced to drive back down to get them several days later. My fiance and I feel terrible about leaving him with there for so long in such terrible conditions. He now needs his stitches to come out and we dont feel comfortable taking him back. We are now searching for a new vet that will treat us and our pets with compassion, respect and hopefully exercise basic hygiene.

I have decided it was necessary to remove my initial review given that Total Pet Care has made full amends to a situation that happened with our cat. While there was an issue during the grooming process with our cat and some reparations that needed to take place afterward, Total Pet Care handled them well. I was thankful for the treatment the office manager gave both my partner and I. They refunded money back to us due to their mistakes and went out of their way to make sure we were completely 100% happy with the solution. I was told that Total Pet Care recently went through a change of hands and that prior to this there were things going on in the office that werent up to great customer service standards. I can attest to that and I am hoping that from this point forward things will be far better. My only concern is about their pricing structure as it is far above what everyone else is charging. Our cat needs to be sedated when groomed and the total cost of that is around $120 because they also charge a hospitalization fee on top of the grooming and sedation. My personal feeling is that it should be comparable to the other vets in the area which charge no more than $84 for everything including hospitalization. I look forward to seeing how the new change of hands handles pricing and customer service. :)

Last weekend I left my dog at this kennel for the first time. I was hesitant at the drop off as the staff seemed overworked and confused. I was assured on my tour a couple of days before that there would be no need for me to bring the vac. records as they would call the vet to have them faxed. That was never done. My dog has a sensitive digestion system and needs her own food to stay regular. I dropped off enough food (canned and dry) for four days and the employee convinced me to leave my leash. When I picked her up after three days they could not find her food or the leash. My concern was that if they somehow lost these things how could they assure me that she had had her own food. And how would they feed it to her on Tuesday if they couldnt find it? After being passed around to many different employees and no one that had the courage to speak to me (and not having any of my phone calls returned) I have lost confidence that any of them know what they are doing. My three visits to the reception area showed disorderliness. There is also no shade for the dogs in the back yard area for these super hot days and they do not have covered dog runs.

My dog Lexi is a white American Bulldog that has a long history of bad skin allergies. Ive been to several vets before Dr.Jorge Rosario was recommended, and I wish we would have found him sooner. He takes the time to sit down and examine her, and she just loves seeing him (she doesnt like any vets). Weve seen several vets that were unsuccessful at treating her condition, but Dr.Jorge has helped us find the right diet plan/and routine that has allowed Lexi to have her skin back to normal. He is truly the best!!! I would totally recommend him to all dog lovers because he is diligent and he knows dogs! He only works Fridays, but I wait for his appointments because Lexi didnt care too much for any other of the vets there, and I feel Dr.Jorge is calm and patient with her(even though Lexi is heavy 120+ pounds). We are typically in and out, and the vet techs/front desk girls are nice and seem to love their job, but Dr.Jorge is what keeps me coming back!!!

I ask to have Dr. Pisle when setting appointments up for my three pets. I saw someone complained about seeing different vets. I recommend to ask for the same one and they will set it up that way if you dont want first available. Shes attentive and always makes sure to answer all of my questions and offers advice. My one dog had some recent weight gain and she was very helpful on recommending a plan of action to get him healthy again. Its working. The staff is always happy to see us when we walk in. They make sure to greet us by name and if there are other upset animals in the waiting room will make sure to separate them once checked in. Ive never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be put in our room to get started. Ive been a client for a few years now and have had a some different procedures done including saying goodbye to a couple loved ones. The staff works hard at making sure everyone is comfortable including you.

When I made the appointment on the phone they said they could spay my dog while she was in heat, but it would be an extra $38. I said ok and scheduled it. When I got to the appointment they said I need to come in the next day to see a different doctor who handled larger dogs better. They also refused to hold her for the rest of day in their daycare. So I missed and hour of work to take her back home. Later that day they called to tell me the doctor wants to wait till she is out of heat! I wasted so much time with them giving me the run around!! I will not go back . The nurse was clearly uncomfortable with my dog, who is 90lbs. but it is her job so their is no excuse. My dog gets along with everyone but the nurse was not giving off good vibes and my dog knew.
