Beware, this man should not be allowed to practice medicine. I moved to Colorado Springs and was looking for a new GP. I told Dr. Smolev what medications my previous GP had me on for the previous 10 years. He proceeded to insult my previous doctors intelligence and told me he wanted to switch me to medications he felt would be better for my condition. The meds he prescribed impacted my condition worse than it has ever been! Upon speaking with another physician I was told there was NO reason for me to ever be put on those medications. Upon further research, I found out this doctor attained his medical training at a school owned by the DEVRY TECH SCHOOLS and it is located in the Dominican Republic! Not even kidding, If thats not all bad enough, I have since then received bills in the mail for an extra $145 for that single visit in which no procedures were performed on top of the $125 I paid at the time of visit. Along with the medications that didnt work but I still had to pay for out-of-pocket because they were not covered by my insurance, this has to be the most expensive 10 minute chat I have ever had! I have tried to call the billing department five times and each time I am asured I will be contacted by a supervisor to resolve this matter yet no calls have ever been received, just more bills in the mail. No one should have to pay that much money for sub standard medical care.

New doctor for me since I qualified for Medicare through Humana. I am blessed to be a very healthy person and dont need a doctor often at all. I have only been seen twice in the last year and I have to say that I am very satisfied with Dr. Smolev! He listens well, takes his time and is very intelligent, understanding and caring. I feel heard and trust him to do the right thing by me, which is very important to me as I truly have a fear of doctors and their ability to prescribe drugs that have so many side effects. I am a very staunch believer in preventative & alternative medicine myself and I trust Dr. Smolev completely.

I dont like going to doctors. It is one of my least favorite things, BUT Doctor Smolev is a doctor I dont mind going to. He lessons, he is courteous and he is the only one that figured out what was wrong with me after 10 years of asking doctors and them not taking me seriously. He respects that I dont like using a lot of medication but also understands when it is needed vs. just convenient. He has always encouraged me to research what he has prescribed or suggested. I appreciate the respect he shows his patients.

Dr. Smolev has been my primary care physician for the past year. He is very thorough and takes his time with me, never rushing me through a visit as have so many other physicians I have had in my lifetime. He is an empathetic and patient listener who trusts what I say about pre-existing conditions. He is an excellent diagnositician and never hesitates to explain the science behind his assessments.
