Well meaning vet and staff, but we never got return phone calls regarding our eldest cat who was beginning to get sick a lot....especially after shots. He needed immediate attention several times, and we could never get him in the same day let alone a return phone call. We went to the Cat Specialist (just for one of the cats), and they diagnosed, hyperthyroidism and FIV (HIV). Wow, its rare for a cat to have that, but it did seem he was getting sick easily and often. Glad we went to a specialist. I think this vet is the busiest around because he is personable and cheap, but you have to be able to get in when your animal is very sick and also have the right tests given.

Dr. Atkins and the team are kind and reasonable. My furry son, Zabuza, had gotten attacked in the forest. My husband found him and we rushed him to Dusty Plains, luckily the closest vet. Zabu was bleeding out and the nurses there immediately took him into the surgery room and cared for him. Basically, the people here at Dusty Plains went out of their way to help and really do care for the family pets that come in. They are very friendly, personable, and professional. Dr. Atkins reviewed each and every charge with us so that we knew exactly what we were paying for. Lastly, theyre very reasonable with pricing. I definitely recommend taking your furry family here.

Kind and knowledgeable. They have taken great care of my cats and dog. I drive all the way from Roxborough just to see them and it is worth the drive. Recently we just had an emergency and had to see a nearby vet hospital. They let us know our cat needed 2 molar extractions and quoted $1270! I called Dusty Plains and it will come to under $300 but I know will be the same quality service. Prices here have always been as good as the care.

I can not thank Dr. Atkins enough. He was closed when we came in with our dog, that had been attacked by another dog. He stayed until my dog wounds were completely taken care of. He was kind, gentle, and explained everything he was doing. I would recommend him to all my family and friends.
