I am a retired RN with a masters degree in nursing. I hope that this lends some credence to what I am about to report. Dr. Atkins and his staff, including Don, have been wonderful in the care that they provided to me since January of 2016. Dr. Atkins repaired blotched foot surgery done by a local podiatrist, who had me walking on and doing physical therapy at her Castle Rock clinic on unfused foot joints despite my complaints of persistent pain. This podiatrist declared that I was just a "slow healer" and had sustained, months after her surgery on my arthritic joints, a stress fracture on the same foot. She ordered me, which I did, to return to my "boot" for six weeks to heal the stress fracture. When the pain persisted, I went to Dr. Atkins who saw by X-ray that my joints were not fused. And, a subsequent MRI showed that the joints had never fused nor was there evidence of a stress fracture. Dr. Atkins redid the surgery in January of this year (2016), and he did a second surgery on my other arthritic foot in August of this year. I have only the highest compliments for him. His staff is wonderful too. Plus, he doesnt sell shoes as did my previous podiatrist. He is simply the best doctor for foot problems. He is very talented and extremely conscientious about his patients and their care. I am lucky to call him one of my docs.

Ive been seeing Dr. Steve Horan for over 10 years. He was first recommended to me by a friend who is a medical researcher. He was recommended to her after her previous doctor retired. Dr. Horan repaired a torn meniscus in her knee, and she resumed bicycling in various locations around the world, including Nepal. Dr. Horan has treated my arthritic right knee with a cortisone-type shot about once a year, and also the bursitis in my left shoulder. When my husband needed surgery for a damaged anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and torn meniscus, I recommended Dr. Horan. That was in 2007, and my husbands knee has been fully functional since then. The office staff at Orthopaedic Physicians of Colorado is excellent--friendly and competent. They have an x-ray machine and technician in the office so you can get x-rays taken and receive a diagnosis during your visit. Besides being very competent, Dr. Horan is friendly, compassionate, and has a nice sense of humor. I highly recommend him and this practice.

Review for Dr. Frederick Coville: I think I just got the worst doctor out of the bunch, it was the most awful experience Ive had seeing a medical provider. He walked in, curtly asked why are you here, did an exam that didnt even last 30 seconds, seemed like he snickered at me when I winced in pain, and then told me I should be just fine. I was in and out of the office in 3 minutes, he never answered my questions, never EXPLAINED why I was in pain. He totally lacked compassion, care, and empathy- basically everything that makes a good doctor, good. Now, this is just the review for the doctor. Everything else about this place was fantastic, scheduling was easy, there was literally no wait time, and when I called the receptionist after leaving this horrendous appointment, she completely understood and set me up with a new doctor so I can get a much better opinion of whats wrong with my knee. Id recommend Ortho Physicians of Colorado, just please dont see Dr. Frederick Coville!

My visit with Dr. Assini could not have been any better!! I am an extremely complicated patient! Dr. Assini read all the records I sent prior to my first visit. I felt as if we had known each other for years. I got excellent quality care from a doctor I just met. Sure does not happen this way for me ever! I would recommend him to anyone needing orthopedic services. His staff are all equally great. I have genuine hope my complicated medical needs are being taken care of with complete faith that Dr. Assini will always provide me with great and quality care and I know he is doing what is best and right for me. He is an excellant doctor providing excellent care.

I was fortunate to be referred to Dr. Frances Faro for orthopedic surgery on my great (i.e., large) toe. As someone who has had 15 surgeries -- 10 of which have been orthopedic -- I can say with some degree of authority that Dr. Frances is the most personable surgeon who has ever operated on me. In addition to being personable, her professional demeanor inspires confidence. Unlike most surgeons, she takes the time to answer questions forthrightly, but reassuringly. Above all, she is genuinely concerned with a patients welfare. In Dr. Faros absence, her PA, Taryn Snyder, is equally personable, professional, and highly competent.

Dr. Woodward is an excellent surgeon, based not only on my personal experience, but also based on the endorsement of another surgeon ("If my mom needed a knee replacement, Id sent her to John."). He moves quickly through his appointments, but Ive never left with the feeling that he wasnt listening or that my concerns and questions werent addressed. I love his staff. They are prompt and efficient. I couldnt have made my way through the quagmire of disability paperwork without them. Mike and Wayne, his PAs are excellent--I could always count on a prompt return phone call from them when I had a concern or question.

I had an old injury that I knew was going to catch up with me some day and Dr. Atkins reviewed my x-ray and with a full explanation gave me the unequivocal skinny that the numbness Id been experiencing lately was the onset of arthritis in my ankle that would not get better. Cest la vie. Ive started a collection of walking sticks and am determined to bring them back in fashion. Truthfully, Ill probably be back before too long when I come to the realization that a titanium ankle is more in line with my lifestyle. Happy Trails....

I found the post-appointment communication to be unnecessarily slow and painful. After my images were sent I left 2 voicemails and waited 3 weeks before I finally received a call back with any sort of diagnosis. When I called back with a followup question my voicemail was left unreturned for another week and a half, and when I called back again I was surprised to find the woman who answered to be gruff and unfriendly.
