I am writing this letter as an account of the amazing experience I’ve had with Goode Animal Health Care. My 4 week old baby Husky was in her kennel with her mother when another, much larger dog grabbed her leg through the fence and attempted to pull her through the chain links. Unfortunately my puppy “Maddie,” suffered from multiple broken bones and severe lacerations. This was on a Thursday night and I had absolutely no luck in finding a vet that was willing to provide medical care. That is, until I called Goode Animal Health Care. Although, Dr. Goode was not able to provide assistance himself that night, he referred me to a great 24 hour hospital in Colorado Springs. The hospital was amazing, but being an emergency veterinary center, it also came with an amazingly high price tag. I couldn’t afford everything that needed to be done for Maddie. After spending all night at this emergency center awake and, in a sense lost, I came home remorseful and not knowing how to get Maddie the treatment she required. Before I was even able to fall asleep the next day, I got a call from Dr. Goode’s wife asking how Maddie was and if everything went ok. After hearing about the situation Dr. Goode and his staff agreed to see Maddie immediately. After evaluation, Dr. Goode established a treatment plan for Maddie and offered it at a MUCH more realistic price than I had been given previously. Thanks to Dr. Goode and his outstanding team, Maddie underwent surgery and is now on her way to recovery. I can’t wait to give my daughter the news that her puppy is going to survive. This is a true testament of the good will of man and the ability to make a difference. No words could express how thankful we are of the Goode Animal Health Center, but hopefully this is a start. For all those who are looking for an amazing veterinary practice to treat your animal, look no further. Sincerely Grateful, The Romero Family

I would post zero stars if I could have. No matter what is wrong with your animal, he will need his teeth cleaned by Dr. Goode. He really needs to just go ahead and become a canine dentist and quit the charade. And his prices are through the roof! I called to make an appointment for a general physical, and was told to come right in. I did, and I was in his office for close to an hour (new client tour, which I requested, and the physical), and I was the only client there for the whole time. At other vets, you will get an appointment a month or more into the future, and the wait is usually close to an hour, due to great business. An immediate appointment and an empty waiting room in a veterinarians office says all there is to say. Also, Dr. Goode badmouths other veterinarians in town, which is never professional. We have some excellent vets in this town.

I rated this place one start because zero was not an option. It was exactly like when you go to get your oil changed and the person behind the counter is trying to sell you everything. I brought my dog in for an ear infection and a consultation to remove rear dewclaws. Never got a quote for the rear dewclaws and it cost me 250 dollars for prednisone, smz (sulfa-antibiotics), and prosatex ear drops. Each of these drugs is available online 0.15 per prednisone, 0.19 per smz, and 17.00 for the drops. Just save yourself hundreds of dollars and commute to the springs. What this guy is charging is criminal.

Dr. Goode diagnosed my dog with pancreatitis and dental problems. After spending a small fortune, I decided to get a second opinion on $1000 to $1500 worth of additional dental work (I just spent over $650 for a teeth cleaning). When he was examined by my new vet, she immediately noticed he had swollen lymph nodes and, after testing, was diagnosed with cancer. Dr. Goode NEVER noticed the swollen glands. My heart is broken that I put my dog through all of these unnecessary procedures when he only has a few months to live.

I had to put down my beloved 16 year old cat due to severe renal failure. Although I knew this was the best decision, it was still awful and heart-breaking. However, Dr. Goode and his staff were wonderfully supportive. They allowed me to be with Vache the entire time, and I obtained the closure I needed. Additionally, Dr. G. sent a warm follow-up card. The whole experience was smooth, especially since I live several hours away, and I would recommend this practice to anyone needing any pet care in southern Colorado.

I stopped in while passing through town. These guys are amazing, Dr. Goode has an insightful way of explaining what is going on with your little companion. Dr. Goode is down to earth and is understanding to circumstantial scenarios and explains all options for sensible treatment. These guys are right off the highway, easy to find, food store right next door, I could go on and on but frankly I wish we had a Vet like this in the city.
