I am so incredibly sad to have to write this but also very disappointed. Ive been taking all three of my doges to Happy Tail for years, and have literally spend thousands there. I was okay with paying slightly higher prices as I LOVED the vet and my girls were always taken care of. Sadly their customer service has gone downhill majorly. In February of this year my older girl needed two of her teeth capped. Without hesitation I made the appointment, paid my bill and got her teeth fixed. Just two weeks ago, I noticed that one of the teeth that were fixed was chipped again, so I took her back in hoping that they could repair the tooth. I also had a concern that Lilly had a UTI, so I mentioned this to the tech who helped. They gave me a quote for the tooth (fixing and/or pulling) as well as the UTI. A total of $515 and some change. They also mentioned that there would be a $13 charge for anti-nausea medicine as she had breakfast that morning. I agree to it and left my baby there. Shortly after I get a call saying that the anti-nausea medicine would be $50+ since shes a bigger dog and that I was quoted wrong.... I obviously agreed to them giving her the medicine even though they really should have comped the price difference. When my husband went to pick up Lilly the vet, who didnt even meet with me when I dropped off Lilly, told him that the UTI was clear but they were giving her antibiotics that would help with both her tooth and if there was a UTI with that. The total bill was $701.00 - when I was quoted $515.00 The UTI test is a $150 test, the antibiotics they gave are way more expensive then the ones for just her tooth... SO if the UTI test was clear why give more expensive antibiotics? AND if you were going to give her antibiotics regardless why not tell me to wait on the UTI test until after the surgery to see if it had cleared up? When I went in yesterday for her follow up appointment... we didnt even get a room to go into and see an actual vet. We sat in the lobby and a tech came out to ask how shes doing. She barely took a look at Lilly or her tooth, did NOT give me any kind of care instructions such as if she should be started back on dry food or not and only asked if I wanted to pay another $130 for her vaccines .... Needless to say I am removing all three of my dogs from the care of Happy Tail and will be going to another vet down the street who not only told me the after care instructions on the phone, got me in to see their vet AND is half the cost of Happy Tail for vaccines. Again, so incredibly disappointed in the awful service. As a small business owner I understand needing to pay bills, I understand upcharging, BUT if you are going to charge more you better have the service to go with it.

Cant really review the quality of care this vet provides as much as I wanted to based on all the positive reviews, all I can review is the customer service, or lack there of. It clearly seems to me that they arent interested in establishing any new clients, or dont want to take the time to bother with responding to inquires. I am looking for a new vet for my Corgi, so I sent them an email (from work, thats why I didnt call...) asking a couple questions on pricing or something of that nature. Simple and short. No one bothered responding. This happened with one other vet I contacted as well... I just dont understand why they put an email address under "contact us" when they have no intention of following through when people do use that method. Its frustrating, because my dogs are my kids, especially my corgi and I just want to find the best care possible for her for her current situation. Luckily, one place did respond the very next day.

My regular vet requested that I get a second opinion on a health issue my cat was having. My vet was very "doom and gloom" saying my cat definitely needed surgery, and had me very stressed out. I called and spoke with Dr. Shekarchian and had an appointment to meet with him the next day. He took the time to explain (in detail) all the possible outcomes with my cats potential issue, and ran some diagnostics. In the end, he found that my regular vet was wrong and my cat was perfectly healthy. This put me at great ease! I see some other reviewers have said that they have been "nickel and dimed" here, but I found their prices right in line (if not cheaper) with other vets in the area (I called several vets about this issue). I wish Happy Tails was a little closer to my home so that I could completely switch over to Dr. Shekarchian, but if my cats have another medical issue in the future, I will not hesitate to contact him again!

Overall our experience was decent for our first visit! It took me 5 phone calls for someone to pick up the phone as they do not have a hold line, this was overall frustrating. The front office representative was nice upon check in, very talkative and had no problem taking us back and answer general questions. The doctor and her assistant were great, again answering questions and helping my emotional 9 year old by explaining what they needed to do to help her cat! We ended up leaving him for x-rays and when my husband went to pick our cat up he was ignored by the front desk staff while they answered the phone and chatted amongst themselves, rather then letting him know they would be right with him. So he sat there for over 10 minutes waiting! This to us was unacceptable as the lobby was empty and even if it was full u can let the customer know you will be right with them, customer service common sense!

Dr. S and his team are absolutely amazing. I moved to Colorado in January of 2013 with my dog, Vada. When I had rescued Vada she had heart-worms and a slew of other health issues so as we settled in I began looking for a veterinarian. I tried many animal hospitals around the local area and just wasnt satisfied with the quality of care. Within three months after our move Vada began having seizures and I was in desperate need of a veterinarian. It just so happened that Happy Tails was open on the Sunday that her seizures began and they worked their magic to get us in. I was an emotional wreck over Vadas condition and Dr. S and his team were able to get her seizures under control and put my worries to rest. We have been loyal customers to Happy Tails since, even through another move to Lakewood. As long as I live in the Denver Metro Area I will continue to take Vada to Happy Tails.

I took my puppy in to have her teeth cleaned and she is like a part of the family! The moment I got home I had to rush my husband to the ER! When the VET called to get authorization to do what needed to be done while our puppy was already under for surgery, I authorized the procedures because why risk putting her under again at a later date? I told them that I would arrange for my mom to pick her up and I would come and pay the balance when I was able to leave hospital when we found out what was wrong with my husband. The office manager said NO! I will never bring my pet here again because I have no compassion would you want someone working on your animal thats your child that has no compassion not me thats for sure
