Alpine takes advantage of its clients by insisting on unnecessary visits and tests. They are crooks. The vets do not take the time to relay information, rather the vet techs call and have to constantly put you on hold while they seek out answers from the vet. I wish I could give ZERO stars. Here is a snippet of our issues with Alpine: My girlfriend and I adopted a kitten from the Humane Society. We took her to Alpine for the 1 week checkup because she started developing a patch of missing fur on her shoulder. The vet suggested it could be due to stress. I asked if it wasnt stress what it could be. They suggested ringworm and they could run a test. They ran the test, but it was compromised and they couldnt tell if it was ringworm or not. The patch became worse and they said I could use a spray to fight the ringworm (if it were ringworm). Not a huge expense, but the vet bills were adding up. We tried the fungal spray for a week, but the patch was getting even worse. I called the vet (mind you I never actually got to speak with a vet, only a vet tech) and they said it could be a bacterial infection. I asked how to treat it, the tech had to run and ask the vet, then get back to me. They insisted I bring our kitten in so they can run more tests. I did not want to spend another $50 on a visit, plus whatever other medication they prescribed which wouldnt work. We decided to take her to Raintree Animal Hospital in Fort Collins, a bit of a drive, but the care was exceptional. The veterinarian spent time with us and presented every chance to us. Instead of constantly running tests and prescribing medication that treats only one ailment, we were given a cream that would fight off fungus and bacterial infections. If that didnt work, it would leave only mites as the cause of the skin issue. We spent over $200 at Alpine and got NO answers, only insistence on bringing the kitten in over and over again to rack up vet visit bills and useless tests. We spent a fraction of that at Raintree and it fought off nearly all of the possibilities of infection. The vets at Alpine do not present you with information. If it werent for my constant asking of questions I wouldnt have gotten even an ounce of information out of them. They insist on unnecessary tests and visits to try to get as much money from you as they can.

Update to your response. I fill human prescription across state lines on a regular basis so why would it be any different for animals. You better report Walgreens because theyve been doing this for years! I wasnt rude to the receptionist. She told me it wont be a problem to fax the prescription. She then called me back to tell me you said No. I told her I knew it was not her making this decision but that there was no good reason and that I would be sharing my expedience on social media. My new vet was so disgusted by your disregard for my 20+ year old cats stress that she didnt even charge me for the office visit I had to make since you wont fax a FOOD prescription. She was baffled by your refusal to fax a food prescription. Couldnt be more disappointed. This vet does not have an animals best interest in mind only money. My cat needs a special food so she can potty without struggling. She is healthy otherwise and completely indoors so not at risk of exposure to diseases or parasites. You need a prescription for this food. Yes food not medicine just food. I brought her in and paid for a visit despite her being healthy other wise so I could purchase food. Thats $48 for a visit and $40.80 for a 8.8 lb bag of Royal Canin. So that is $88 for 9 lbs of food plus tax. I now need more food and live in a different state. A local veterinarian wont sell me the food without a prescription and said I could get the last vet to fax a copy to them. They said it didnt matter that the vet was out of state that they do it all the time-- receive and send from other states. Alpine wont send it saying they cant prescribe out of state. Not true! It is not medicine even. Its just FOOD! This is not right. Now I have take my +20 year old cat an hour away to a vet who carries this food. We will have to pay another $49 for an office visit with them and they are going to poke and prod her and she doesnt need all that just to have more food. I cant believe a vet could be so uncaring and not do something that is possible to save stress on an aging cat.

I wish that I could recommend Alpine. My husband took our chocolate lab in days after our son was born after we noticed a small bump on his head. They put him on antibiotics and did a biopsy which revealed a benign tumor. A month later, we returned as the bump was growing. We went in with the understanding that they would try to remove it. Again, another $400 biopsy. A couple days before Christmas we learned the diagnosis was terminal. Our hearts were broken for our dog, but devastated that Alpine treated our dog minimally. We wish they would have given him steroids or helped him more with pain management, but instead, we felt Alpine was out after our money and not as interested in caring for our dog. After almost $1000 spent and really only a diagnosis, Alpine encouraged us to go to CSU as there was nothing more they could do for us. After this experience, we will not be returning.

Amazing, caring staff!! Everyone there is so kind and compassionate and everyone is always conscious of the expense portion for each persons situation. I have been on the receiving end and have observed this in the waiting room. Our dog is getting K-laser and adequan which are really helping him and when he was gimpy at our boarding place recently the staff at Alpine made sure he was OK and kept him until we got there to pick him up. Dr. Liz met us personally when we picked him up. Our kitties love the staff and get just the best care. We are moving soon out of state and literally just know that we will never find any place like this again!! We cherish them!! Great, great work and dedication and it shows!!

They are the nicest, cleanest, most thoughtful vet clinic ive ever had the pleasure of visiting. We adopted our kitten, Pawsha, a 3mo old Tortie, from them. She was born there and given excellent care. I know this bc we visited 3 other shelters beforehand and the animals looked miserable, some mangy, and no one was giving them love (or food). The nurses and drs even gave us food to start. This establishment full of loving people will be seeing us for aaaalllllll of Pawshas future needs.

Alpine vet is amazing! My lab had some how broken her nail late friday night and needed to see a vet ASAP! Thankfully Alpine vet was open on a saturday and willing to see her! The staff was very friendly and welcoming as we had never been there before. The vet explained everything that needed to be done and took care of her right away! I would recommend Alpine vet to anyone who is looking for a great vet that takes wonderful care of their patients!!
