We moved to the area recently and wanted to find a new vet. The Google reviews showed this place was probably the best. So, I brought my dog in because he had a growth on his paw pad. They removed it. After the surgery, I went to pick him up and they went over everything. They wanted to pre-schedule my return for 3 follow-up visits to do new bandage wrappings, at $45 a visit. $135 for new bandages? Are you kidding me? I politely declined and informed them my fiancé is a nurse of 10+ years, and I have re-bandaging experience myself (father was an ER doc for 30+ years and taught us wound dressing, CPR and more). Prior to this visit, my dogs last surgery was an amputation of his toe on his other paw (tumor), which we re-bandaged and took care of ourselves, without any issue. I explained this. Well, the vet assistant argued with me -- saying we couldnt be relied on to do it properly, and we should bring him back anyway. I had to decline her four times before she stopped arguing. It was extremely annoying and very unprofessional. They did schedule a return visit for removing the stitches (they said this visit would be FREE). So, they called me the day before the appointment and left a voice mail -- saying it was for suture removal. The next day I went in, and, it turns out, they say they had scheduled it a full week ahead of time (too early). The vet said this appointment was actually for a re-bandaging and recommended they go ahead and do that instead...for $45. Can you imagine how pissed I was? I declined, of course. After leaving, I re-checked my voice mail and confirmed they said SUTURE REMOVAL. Not re-bandaging! So, somebody screwed up, or someone was messing with me. Needless to say, the next day my dog managed to pull off his cone, his bandages and then chewed the sutures out himself (go figure -- we were at work and not home to watch him). There was no blood, though; just a scab. I called the vet and said we would just keep an eye on it. He seemed fine for a few days, but then he started chewing on his paw again. He ended up gashing himself and bleeding a bit. We put the cone back on again to be safe. On top of all this, we had to leave town that weekend, and needed to put him in a kennel. So, due to all of this, we made an appointment with Mile High, just to make sure his sutures were completely gone and not irritating him. I brought him in and they checked out his paw. All the sutures were confirmed to be gone. No infection, no problems, etc. They said he was probably just itching. It took maybe a full 30 seconds for them to look and explain. And guess what? They charged me $60 for the visit. But, I never had to bring him in for his original FREE suture removal visit, which would have taken longer. So what the hell? This vet will do whatever they can to charge the customer as much as possible. Dont go here. Find someone else. Our old vet, Columbine Animal Hospital, in Littleton, never did anything like this. Re-bandaging, suture removal and follow up visits for examinations were free. They were the ones who performed his previous paw/toe amputation and care, and did not charge us extra for these kinds of things. We will never go back to Mile High Veterinary Hospital, period.

I saw Dr. Pereira at this clinic.. before moving to aurora, our 9 1/2 year old lab was dx with bone cancer, was in a great deal of pain, but was given enough pain killers to get us through 3 months. After making the painful decision to have her euthanized we made the appt with this office. I talked with them beforehand and all seemed fine, I brought my 14 year old son with me as he wanted to be there for his dog. This DOCTOR refused and suggested that we do chemo or radiation even said "a 3 legged dog is as good as a 4 legged on" This for a 9 1/2 year old lab. My son was given false hope, I am so angry. Every vet that I have talked to since this morning has said that the client is with the dog 24/7 and they know the dog best. This man was unfeeling, rude, and most of all scarred my 14 year old into thinking that he was killing his dog too soon. I would not recommend this vet to my worst enemy and I will be filing as many complaints as I can possible write

I have an old cat, shes great, just old, and has been suffering from diabetes over the past few years. If you can imagine injecting a cat twice daily with insulin, well...Yep, I love my cat. She had taken a turn for the worse and her blood sugar levels were getting harder to control, plus she had bad teeth, so I took her to Dr. Waskow. Even though I thought the diabetes was the most pressing issue, Dr. Waskow said that her teeth were more important as infections in the mouth reek havoc on the whole body. My little Gabby had oral surgery removing some nasty teeth and she bounced back quite well from the procedure. Really well. Over the next few weeks she needed less and less insulin, then finally NONE! Its pretty incredible, but 6 months later, I have a cat that resembles the little ball of energy I had years ago, and her diabetes is gone. It may come back, but she is doing very well. Thanks Mile High Vet!

I had a death in my family and got charged for a missed appointment fee. I went to the rescheduled visit but wasnt told at the time of the rescheduled visit for 2-shots that the total was added in with a missed appointment fee, the Tech told us the fee was $109 dollars, my husband says to the Tech "that is a high price for two shots" & she still did not say a word about missed appointment fee that was added in. I called today and spoke to the Vet and she goes on to say that she will talk to her techs for the future but would not refund the fee. I told her to keep the money & that we will never return to this place again. The prices are a rip off. They are ok with charging people above rates that other Vets charge less for. And to not care when someone has a death in the family tops it off.

Like most dog owners, I spoil my dog like crazy and only want the absolute best for her. I have a 4 year old yellow lab and for the past 3 years I took her to a vet that I had to break my neck to get an appointment at, wait at least 45 min to see and then pay a giant vet bill for 1 hour of wasted time for ONE vaccination. At Mile High I am typically seen within 5 minutes of arriving, typically can schedule same day appointments and my dog is NOT afraid of this office. They strive for a stress free visit for their patients and because of that alone, going to get her check up or vaccinations is a BREEZE. She also loves the peanut butter spoons they give her for being such a great dog. I love this vet and am so pleased to have found a place my spoiled dog and I can go to for years to come!
