I was new to Pueblo a year ago and took my 2 chihuahuas to Mesa Vet for their shots & exams. I was very pleased and comfortable with the staff, and when I adopted another stray chihuahua a few months later, I took her right to Mesa Vet to have her checked out. I just had all 3 of them in for their shots & check ups, so I thought Id drop a note to say how great I think this vet practice is. The doctors and staff are very competent, it is very well run, and everyone there obviously loves animals. I was an RN for 12 years, and have always had multiple pets, so I can tell the difference between good practices and those that are not. They do take walk ins and emergencies/urgent care, so if its busy you might have to wait, even if you have an appointment - it only happened to me once & it didnt bother me because its worth it to have veterinarians that I trust. They also take calls for after-hours emergencies, which gives me peace of mind.

One of the worst experiences of my life! I brought my cat in with an acute illness, he needed help immediately. I was told to wait in the room full of large dogs, with no place to shelter my poor sick kitty from the terror of being face to face with so many dogs. I waited nearly four hours to see a vet. Everyone was seen before me, including those who came in after me. I asked several times how much longer it would be, and was told that my need was not great so I would just have to wait. Eventually took my cat someplace else. He could not wait any longer, contrary to what I was told by the staff at Mesa. They did not even call me to see how he was. I will never take an animal there again!

When my cat, Friskies, came inside at 9PM, limping from an apparent rattlesnake bite, I called Mesa Vet to contact the after-hours on-call doctor. Less than 5 minutes later, Dr. Fitzgerald called and I took Friskies to the clinic. Dr. Fitzgerald was very thorough in his examination and extremely caring towards Friskies. After a few shots and some meds, we left at 10PM. Dr. Fitzgerald called the next morning to see how Friskies was doing and were both relieved hes doing so much better. Knowing Mesa Vet Clinic has an Emergency after-hours on call Veterinarian is such a relief, as this was the exact scenario I was afraid of happening to my cats. Thank you, Dr. Fitzgerald for saving Friskies!

Simply the best animal clinic in Pueblo! I went here today for my cat and was amazed at how great they were. Everyone in the office was kind, knowledgeable and professional. Without talking poorly about the other office I had to go to last night, I ll say this: MESA VET IS THE BEST YOU CAN GET FOR YOUR PETS! Also, it s important to note that while not advertised, they do offer ER services, 24/7. I wished I would have known that last night! Never will I take my pets to another place, especially now that I know they also do ER services. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Sadly in December I had to take my 17 year old dog in to be put down and everyone at Mesa Veterinary Clinic were very caring and comforting to my fur baby and to myself. After a couple of weeks still crying and missing my lil buddy, I unexpectedly received a very thoughtful sympathy card in the mail from Mesa Veterinary Clinic with a nice heartfelt message signed by the Dr. and all the staff. Thank you to everyone in your office for showing compassion on that day and even weeks after. I know my lil buddy felt the love too.

They saved our poor puppy we had just gotten who had parvo, staph and worms from his previous owners, they called us almost daily with updates and notifications. He adores the staff there and we do too. And when our cat had lived out his life to the fullest and was dealing with cancer they gave him a painless easy path out and even gave us an imprint of his pawprint to remember him by. Absolutely adore that clinic!!! They need more offices everywhere.

Paid them 213$ to look at my dog after hours and for one night and they didnt do anything except give him 2 midazolam hcl 5mg shots and throw him in a cage, they didnt even explain to me what the diagnosis was! Im livid, worst experience ever! Would not recommend them if they were the only vet in town and my animal was on the verge of death! They werent gentle at all with him either, they acted tho as if they were disgusted by him!

Dr Joe Barker is my hero. He has diagnostic skills that are better than anywhere I have ever seen. Unlike MDs for people, vets have patients who cant tell them where it hurts. Even the desk staff have helped me a LOT. The girls there actually allowed me to administer an injection myself, since I could not wait. They gave me all the information I needed, and then let me go. Of course it went perfectly, and I am so grateful.

Dr. Barker and his staff are always very good to us and our dogs. We have three dogs and have been taking them there for over 3 years. Ive even had the unfortunate experience of having an older dog that will soon have to be put to sleep, and they have been very kind and helpful throughout this experience. Thank you Dr. Barker for always caring about our dogs like they are yours too!

They saved my Dogs life, he got Parvo at 6 months old. They treated him with some IV saline, and antiobiotics, as well as a stomache settling drug; during thanksgiving holiday by the way. The Dr. called me personally on my cell phone a couple weeks later to see how he was doing as a follow up. Best ever

We LOVE the Mesa Veterinary Clinic. They are amazing people who truly care about your fur babies. They are very knowledgeable and go above and beyond to make sure your pet receives the best care possible. Teddy and Maggie will definitely be back to see them.

Customer service non existant. Treated as invisible. Others asked to be helped behind me in line. Left & came back 2nd time for much needed prescription pet food. Waited 30 min. same treatment, when helped poor attitude, pissy and abrupt. Never again!!!!!

Outstanding team! They took awesome care of my little buddy and worked with me to make his much needed care affordable. I dont mind driving the extra 30 minutes to bring my pups in for care, because I know they are going to be in the best hands.

Very poor customer service. Had an emergency and had to wait over three hours before leaving. One of dogs had surgery, developed infection and found they had left a spong in one of her ears. All in all, we have stopped using them.
