NEVER AGAIN!! I came in after a procedure done by an endodontist went VERY WRONG. Within an hour of the dental procedure I was in the worst pain of my LIFE and my jaw swelled up like I had been punched in the face by Mike Tyson!! Pain worse then gal-bladder, tonsils, a spinal fusion, and appendix, I was allowed a day on pain meds inpatient for my tonsils, 3 for gal-bladder and appendix, and 7 for my back. In this ER, I could not swallow, talk, had a fever of almost 102, my jaw and neck were SEVERELY swollen; Dr. SHARP looked at me like I was making all of this up!! I could not believe how he treated me!! Only a few pain shots was what he allowed. I HATE drugs, and the last time I needed a pain drug was for a surgery 6 months prior, clearly NOT a drug seeker. I could understand being treated like dirt, if I had sought drugs in the past MANY times, or was on lots of pain meds; they could see my history and KNEW that was not true. However, all I needed was HELP!! I was given one bag of fluids, had to ASK for another bag of IV fluid, as I had not been able to swallow for 2 days. I also ASKED DR. SHARP to let me stay overnight, just to have some pain relief and REST, he refused; said all the Drs would laugh him out of the hospital for keeping me overnight for what I had!! REALLY DR SHARP? I had another ER Dr from a different hospital keep me overnight for no reason they could find for tummy pain; turned out to be severe constipation!! LOL...that Dr. was not laughed out of the hospital for something so silly; although I felt stupid! Dr Sharp allowed me a Fentanyl patch..agreed to it as I was DESPERATE for relief. He prescribed WAY to high a dose the pharmacist said, so she called him and had it lowered. The med did relieve pain, but caused me to feel doped up as its CONSTANT in your system, unlike through an IV that will not make you feel that way. I had to remove the patch to get the doped up feeling to stop, and when the pain started up, had to tape it back on for a few hours, and remove again. At home pain was AWFUL, after a week I could not take anymore and my father out east who was a Physicians Assistant, told me to see my primary care and ask to see an infectious disease specialist. I went to my primary, (at the same hospital...great care there CHPG Westminster Clinic) she took one look at my face (less swollen due to heat compresses) and said, "WOW that is badly swollen!!" I said, "Look at the pic from last week when I came to the ER here" She looked and her jaw dropped!! She wanted me to have blood work up, a CT scan, etc...and said that I had been in pain too long, and it would take a long time to wait for all that through the clinic, and to go back to the ER. I said NO WAY!! Not if Dr. WILLIAM SHARP is on!! She called over to the ER, asked if he was on, and he was not; said she trusted the Dr. who was on though. I was wheeled over to the ER, treated WAY BETTER, and in less then two hours was diagnosed with OSTEOMYELITIS (an infection of the bone you can die from). I was transferred to St Anthony Lakewood for a partial jaw removal from the infection; as this hospital did not have an oral surgeon on staff or something. I was treated VERY KINDLY by almost all the staff at the Lakewood hospital!! PRAISE THE LORD FOR THAT HOSPITAL AND THEIR TREATMENT OR I COULD BE DEAD!! They kept me for THREE WEEKS on pca fentanyl due to my allergic reactions to other meds. They had people come in and play instruments for me, gave me foot massages, and let a dog visit...GOD BLESS THEM ALL!! BAD FORM ST ANTHONY NORTH ER..here, and the Centura hospital in Louisville for BOTH sending me home like a drug seeker!! Will risk death trying to get to a better ER/HOSPITAL. DUE TO THE INCOMPETENCE OF THESE TWO HOSPITALS, I NOW HAVE PERMANENT NERVE DAMAGE TO MY FACE AND CANT CHEW WHERE THEY REMOVED PART OF MY JAW. I AM IN PAIN DAILY NOW. WITHOUT A NERVE GRAFT...TOO COSTLY, I WILL CONTINUE TO SUFFER DAILY. MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON DR SHARP AND ALL THOSE WHO LET ME SUFFER LIKE A DOG!!

$13,507.94 Just for utilizing the hospital infrastructure. Nothing utilized except lying in the bed. If you are in need of other medical needs, make sure how they plan to suck money from you. $981*2 = $1962 for each visit by the doctors - It is outsourced to APEX Emergency Group. $360 - For reading and analyze Imaging (CT-Scan / X-Rays). Not the actual X-Ray or CT-Scan. Total Scam. Please be careful when you step inside in this hospital next time. Worst treatment with best possible receipts to suck the money from patients. --------------------- Hospital Experience mentioned below I have seen by two Doctors at this facility. Dr. Michael Wayne Brunko, MD and associated Nurse are Very polite and gave all information about the health and further checkup. On my second visit with, Gina Christina Soriya, MD - Worst Doctor I met in my life She was about to kill me while I was in the facility. She threatened me to take the pain medicine. Also the nurse who took care of me was worst than ever expected. Such doctor and Nurse should be fired from this facility. I will never return to this facility again. Also the Nurse does not know how to find the vein. She poked all around my hand to find the vein. Also the emergency care has two button for patients, One is for PAIN and another is for NURSE. I dont know whether the button is audited or not. After pressing the button for hours and severe pain, with all high pain I decided to leave the facility and never visit in my life again. Before even leaving the facility, they sent the cleaning person to clean the room. Such a poor response. Nurse claiming that Doctor is not just looking at you and she is taking care of 20 other patients. That was not even polite to a patient with a pain. When the doctor cannot look at more patients why the hell this institution is admitting more ER patients. Is it to kill more patients or make more patients with sever pain? Every patient who wish to go this facility, go with high definition camera and record your whole experience here. Such a total junk facility created for torturing patients. If you want to be with less pain or to control your pain, please dont visit this facility. They will make you cry with worse pain. If you really want to take care in emergency situation, this is not the hospital you need to go. They make your life even worse. Thank god, they let me escape. I will also amend this review after receiving the bill for the care they provided.

So far, my experience here has been very good, my PCP is here as well as my ortho and cardiovascular. I couldnt be happier with the entire staff in all departments of "family medicine." However, this is my 2nd visit to the ER. My 1st but had my daughter here not too long after it opened. I swore that I would NEVER return! The ER Dr was probably the 2nd, but was very close to the 1st worse Dr I have EVER had the unfortunate and far from pleasurable experience of meeting! My daughter was brought in by ambulance because of excruciating back pain, which she could not get up from the floor. In route, as protocol calls for an IV line was started and morphine was administered. In the ER, the Dr questioned her regarding pain medication, and her answer was honest for the way the question was understood. Well apparently the answer was the wrong one for the the question asked. As the Dr returned very angry and rude, threatening to have my daughter arrested for lying about never having taken or being prescribed any pain medication. Which is NOT the question my daughter thought she had answered. She thought she was asking if she had taken any that day. Well after a little steam let off, not making a bit of a difference, my daughter was released w/out anything for her pain! BTW; she has a condition that requires an operation; she wasnt "seeking" a high, as imposed by a judgemental, ignorant Dr! It was my regular healthcare team that encouraged me to try it again. But right now, Im questioning my decision, as Ive been here now for OVER 3 hours or more, and its not looking like I will be getting seen anytime soon! Will update my novel after I finish this journey! UPDATE: After almost 5 hours, I walked! I know how the medical field is, its never the same at any level. I know ERs are unpredictable, Ive worked the other side of where I am today. However with that said, I do feel that they are under staffed to accommodate the high volumes such as tonight. Idk if thats due to scheduling ignorance or just the lack of employees; but regardless, the ones here tonight are running their butts off! So if anyone was expecting any criticism or bashing, Im sorry I cant report that this time! Would/will I come back if I need to? Yes! However, unless its true life or death, I will check wait times prior to making a decision! So, thats it for this segment on St Anthonys North!
