My doctor had called me late in the day requesting I go to quest for a suspected kidney infection. I hurried over to the Granby quest as it is only a minute from my house and the website said it closed at 4. I arrived by 3:55 to find the door already locked. I sat in the chair outside the door as I searched for another quest location open later and a female patient exited saying the door was locked when she arrived 10 minutes prior too and she banged on the door. So I tried knocking, could hear people talking inside, but no one answered. I proceeded to call their phone number at 3:55, and 3:57 to see if someone would let me in, but no one answered although I could still hear them inside. Another patient then exited at 3:58 but held the door open for me as he said the door was locked when he arrived too. No one was at the front desk so I said excuse me, no answer. Another patient leaves and I walk towards the hallway saying excuse me again and two techs popped their heads out of the doors and said they were closed. One came over to me and I told her that I was there before 4 but that the door was locked and previous patients also told me the door was locked upon arrival. She accused me of lying and said they never lock the door before 4. During this confrontation it was now 4:02. I told her I had phone records showing that I had called trying to be let in at 3:55 and 3:57. She told me that they would never lock the door before 4:00 and that I again was lying. At this point, almost in tears and nearly falling over from pain in my back, I ask if there is any other quest open past 4:00 and she told me that I could try Bloomfield. I asked her for her name and she rudely spelled L-U-Z, Luz. I then had to drive 30 to Bloomfield, 30 minutes back, and back to the CVS pharmacy for a urine test that took all of 1.5 minutes for me to give in Bloomfield that Luz refused to take. I have never in my life experienced such rude and degrading service (or lack of service) from medical professionals. I found it ironic that they had a sign on the wall that said something about being nice because their staff was anything but. I would highly recommend using a different lab or a different Quest location as the staff here clearly do not care about the patients but just see a paycheck whether or not they operate as they are supposed to or as advertised.

I personally had a good experience with Quest. I arrived at 3:00, no one was at the front desk but they have this tablet kiosk with which you input your information to be checked in. I immediately was brought to the first room. The phlebotomist was kind and knowledgeable. She took my insurance card and quickly found the test that was ordered. I am a very difficult stick, needing iv therapy when Im in the hospital to get a stick. She got it on the first try, and I was quite impressed with my experience. Your mileage may vary.
