If you have a stye/chalazion do not go to this eye care center. I had the worst experience here. The worst. And these unscrupulous people dont have a clue about chalazion removal by surgery. I went there sometime in September of this year 2014 and the eye doctor there told me I have a stye and its not a big deal and he could do a surgical procedure and remove it. He scheduled my appointment to be done in November at the branch in Manchester CT because he didnt have the equipments to do it at the branch in Hartford. I went to the branch in Manchester to do it. It was extremely painful and extremely uncomfortable. I payed 250 dollars to get it done because I didnt have insurance. Can u believe they put a patch over my eye and sent me home and the stye wasnt removed. I was told to remove the patch after 6 hours of the surgery when I got home. When I did it was worst than it was before and the lumps were still there. So all the pain and discomfort that I felt was for nothing. He asked me to do follow up appointments. Each time I go there he talked and did nothing. When I realized they knew nothing about stye removal surgery I decide to visit a different eye doctor. Someone suggested Connecticut eye center and thats where I went and got my situation corrected. based on my horrible experience at fichman eye center I would not recommend anybody to go there if they have a stye. They are clueless about it.

I went to the Hartford Office and while examining my eyes the Dr coughed in my face. Yep while examining my eyes so you know how close he was to my face. I dont know what was worst the fact that he never covered his mouth or the fact that he acted like nothing happened and never apologized. Not only was this NASTY, it was disrespectful and unprofessional. I called his supervisor to complain, waiting on a call back. This is unacceptable. Not sure what his problem was, maybe he thought because the location is in the ghetto he can do whatever he wants, NO.

I usually despise going to the Eye Doctor. However, our son was in desperate need of an eye exam and to our surprise was having a very difficult time seeing far away. He received his first pair of glasses promptly after the appointment and it was truly a great experience from the Doc, the Receptionist and the person who fitted his glasses. Thanks for making it a very pleasant first time "glasses" experience for our son!
