When it comes to basic doctor needs such as treating flu, cold, or mild aches, then Dr. Rivera Jr. is your doctor. If you suffered from a serious physical injury, then you may want to consider another doctor. Unfortunately Dr. Rivera is or has retired from the family business and his son has taken chair. With time comes the benefits of seeing and becoming more knowledgeable and Dr. Rivera Jr. has not yet reach that point. Issues arose when many of my questions on the human body and possible reasoning for injury resulted unsatisfactory. Once again to sum things up: Dr. Rivera Jr. is ok for basic to low illnesses/injury, but consider another doctor/specialist if your condition seems to be even somewhat complex.

I first went to see Dr. Rivera when I did not have insurance. It was easy to walk in and receive medical attention, even though I thought it would be a hassle. The reception staff is friendly, the office is clean, and Dr. Rivera treated my arm right on the spot, and gave me directions to follow for the next few days which led to everything healing up just as he said it would. Personal attention is big at this office, which made me choose them as my primary care.

I was a new patient at Southington Medical Center. I had not had a physical in 3 years. I saw Samela and she went over all of my medical, asked a few questions, set me up to do bloodwork, and I have an appointment for a physical and to go over a complete blood panel within a week. Very friendly office/staff. Would recommend this facility to anyone.

Fantastic experience! After the passing of my lifelong doctor, I went to four different practices, always feeling like I was treated as a number rather than a person. At Southington Family Medical Center I have finally found a staff that truly cares. They take the time to listen and make sure I am comfortable. I highly recommend!!!

The genuine personal concern of both the doctor and staff. All my experiences here have been the best treatment Ive received in any medical environment. The doctor and staff are both welcoming and extremely professional. Its obvious that they care not only about the job they do, but about each patients well-being on a personal level.

The staff is knowledgeable and caring. I never feel like I am being rushed through. They take the time to provide the best care. Whether it is a walk in visit or a scheduled one, they always endeavor to make it a positive experience for the patient. My whole family has gone there for years and will continue to do so.

Patient beware. If you are scheduled for your annual physical exam and you so much as mention to your provider about any other issues you might have. They will charge for both a annual physical exam and a standard office visit. Extremely unhappy with this practice and will never go back.

Have been going here since I was 8 years old, both Sr. and Jr. are incredible. Long wait to get in but its worth it, each patient is a personal relationship not another dollar sign to a corporate doctor. Highly recommend Dr. Rivera Jr. I trust him with my life.
