Just started going to his clinic, since another vet I was going to started holding my cats special prescription cat food hostage (they wouldnt sell me anymore) until I brought her in for some shots. So I decided to look around. Dr. Breu is a straight shooter, I like that in a person actually, please just tell me like it is. My cat, Livie is 14 years old, an indoor cat and has always had a problem with throwing up her food, most vets over the years answer was a special diet, which didnt cure the problem but helped her in other areas, they also would say that "some cats just throw up a lot". So I took it as that, and that was my cats problem. She also has long fur, so there was the occasional fur balls too, which is normal. So getting to my point here and why Im giving 5 stars is that Dr. Breu was the only vet that seemed overly concerned about her throwing up that much, called it "not normal" and looked deeper into what might be her issues causing her to throw up that often. After her blood work came back as good, she suggested a certain pill given twice a day that is supposed to help with the digestion/breakdown of the food to get into her system, and that something her digestion track might not be doing on its own, hence causing the throwing up. She didnt know if this would cure or help the problem, but you have to start the process of elimination somewhere. Also my cat was loosing weight, which wasnt good, shes a small cat to begin with and in her "senior" cat years. I have to say since shes been on these pills going on a couple months now, I started to see a change, took a couple weeks to get it into her system, and then as the days continued to pass she was having fewer and fewer days of not throwing up her food, which was every other day prior. Shes gone as long as 10 days without throwing up her food and has put on weight. She also seems so much happier, almost more loving, although she still has her quirks and attitude. What cat doesnt, and why we love them. I just hope it continues to solve her problem, and I feel absolutely horrible that she had to endure that for 14 years of her life. Thanks Dr. Breu and staff. Fingers crossed!!

I took my ten year old cat here on the recommendation of my sister who spoke highly of this clinic. I wanted to go somewhere new because I disliked how my current vet was always throwing a towel over my cat and holding him down. He can be aggressive but only when treated this way. The Dr kept me waiting almost a half hour past my appointment time in addition to the wasted 15 minutes they asked me to come on early. She walked in the room expecting my cat to react violently. The terrified tech threw a towel completely over my cat who now had been confined in the carrier for over an hour. Then donning huge thick leather gloves, held my cat down by the back of his neck. My cat reacted more violently than I have ever seen and the Dr became visibly angry that she could not examine him. When I tried explaining that Id never seen him act like this before and he had recently been to an emergency clinic with not even an inkling of the same response. She practically yelled at me telling me he clearly has a history of this kind of behavior. As if I do not know my cat. The emergency hospital did not leave him confined and let him walk around the exam room before hand as well as treating him gently. Even after I warned them. At Montowese I did not feel a sense of compassion from any one for me or my cat, only that they were trying to protect themselves from getting hurt bc they were following notes from another vet. I felt like my input was considered invalid and that I was being spoken down to. I look younger (Im 34) than I am but that is no reason to treat me like a child. The Dr ended up recommending sedation upon arrival of any further visits and invasive & expensive tests off the premises. I left there feeling worse. I will not be returning to this clinic. The only reason Im giving it two stars is bc the facility was very clean and modern.

Dr. Breu and her staff were the choice for my animals when I lived in CT. I habitually rescued cats and initially chose this clinic because of its location (closest to where I lived) but stayed with them because simply put they are the best. One of these rescued cats happened to be pregnant when I brought her into my home and the whole staff worked with me to find homes for three of the newborn kittens, had the mother cat tested through one of their clients and one of the office staff donated extra cat food for the kittens. I also found Dr. Breu to be very respectful, wise, compassionate yet still professional. She really takes the time to listen to your concerns and her explanations of a diagnosis and subsequent treatments were clearly communicated so that it was easily understood. I really miss this clinic :) they are truly in it for the right reasons.

Ive been bringing my animals to Dr. Breu for about 30+ years...weve grown older and wiser together....she cried with us when we had to send our Golden across the rainbow bridge. ..and detected by my "chemo curls" when I had had a really bad year. Through good times and bad...she may be tough, sometimes, but shes also the best damn vet we could ask for....
