I consider myself a PT "frequent flyer" of late and all encounters have been at the Performance Physical Therapy (PPT) Foulk Road office. Ive met four to five different talented, knowledgeable and patient-friendly physical therapists and staff; however, this recent ailment has been the most "fun" and I don’t mean the physical kind... Upon my arrival to schedule my evaluation, I was greeted by the warm, smart, friendly and very efficient receptionist, Angela. She knew me by name and continues to treat me as though Im the only patient needing rehabilitation. Expecting to schedule my initial evaluation within a week or two, I was pleasantly surprised that the owner/PT, Steve, offered to perform it right then and there! I was instantly encouraged that I was on my way to healing. Then the "fun" began. Steve quickly established a wonderful rapport with me, completed a very thorough assessment and started me on a therapy plan. Stretching and strengthening is not my definition of "fun" but when you add lots of humor, intellect and professionalism it becomes a recipe for the companys motto: "feel better" and for me; in more ways than just one! Thanks PPT!
I suffered my first serious injury a few months back and began coming here for physical therapy. I came in somewhat dreading the idea of having to "rehab" my knee, but my thoughts quickly changed. One of the best things that can happen in healthcare is the development of a rapport, or a relationship with a provider. Performance Physical Therapy does this, making it their personal mission to provide you with a level of healthcare you would come to expect from your doctor or local pharmacist. This involves two things, getting to know you, and assisting you on your road to recovery. As a result, you walk away trusting yourself to their care. Steve and his team of Angela and Taylor took every effort to ensure that my knee would once again be 100%. This included specialized exercises designed to mimic the way that I move throughout my day (Im a performer), and a personalized care plan to continue my treatment at home. At the end of my recovery, my knee had drastically improved, and my doctor was very pleased. If youre looking to recover from an injury, and want to ensure that youre taken care of; choose Performance Physical Therapy.
I was suffering from chronic low-grade pain in my lower back and hips for at least 6 months - not related to any specific injury. On occasion, it would flare up badly enough to knock me down for a day or two. After a particularly bad episode, I finally saw my family MD and he recommended Performance Physical Therapy. Six weeks on, I recommend this practice without hesitation. They were able to pin-point my problem areas and develop a routine to address them. The environment is comfortable. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and exceedingly courteous. It seems to me there is a general trend in health care toward moving people in and out of the office as quickly as possible. In contrast, at PPT they always listened carefully when I tried to describe exactly what I was feeling, and at no time did I ever feel hurried. I believe that the extra time to listen and understand lead to a more accurate diagnosis and ultimately to better and faster results. I can hardly believe how much better Im feeling. I only wish I hadnt waited so long to get started.

Rehab was never so fun! Ive had other injuries before (knee ACL reconstruction, shoulder injury etc) and generally rehab has been the most difficult (even a bit depressing) phase, which is unavoidable for a better future. There are no shortcuts & it takes time! But the folks at Performance Physical (Wilmington)- Steve Rapposelli along with his assistants Angela & Maria create such a positive environment & make this phase pass by quickly... literally! The personalized care & attention... never have to wait, easy to make appointments, just makes it more convenient. Its a small place, but trust me thats better. Granted, I can only speak for my broken ankle recovery (which you can argue is not the most complicated), but it seems they would be fairly well-equipped to handle most injuries & Steve is definitely very knowledgeable. You can always call & check, if they specialize in what you need. I would definitely recommend them for anyone in the area. And yes, Im back to running, biking, other sports etc in 1-2 months of therapy (after the bone healing)
Personalized treatment, great service and great results! I came to Performance PT in advance of knee surgery for an evaluation and a plan for suitable exercise to help me prepare for recovery following surgery. I attribute the success of my recovery in large part to this important preparation and to the excellent PT care I have received following surgery. Unlike large practices I have been to, in which I felt people were too overworked and rushed to provide truly individualized programs, here I have received carefully tailored programs (that take into account other body issues, like a bad back) that have gotten me back on my feet! I have been to both offices (N. Wilmington and Hockessin). In addition to serious professionalism and great service, there is a wonderful light spirit and sense of humor here that has made my visits highly enjoyable. It is much easier to do the hard work of rehab in this kind of welcoming environment! I recommend Performance PT very highly with no reservations. This is a great place to get great PT!
I selected PPT in North Wilmington based solely on solid reviews since they have very little advertising. My knee replacement surgeon and his staff never heard of PPT. After having been to several of the large well known physical rehabilitation groups in North Wilmington for joint replacement therapy, I can honestly attest to the tremendous ability and professionalism of the Concord Pike staff of Caitlin and Angela. They constantly monitored me during my sessions with the exception of bike/ice time. They make you feel just like family and I highly complement them on their development of interpersonal relationships with each client. Caitlin brought me back to nearly 98% of my normal abilities within a two month time frame. I will be recommending PPT to all of my baby boomer friends and promoting this "diamond in the rough" whenever possible. Bill Burris Sharpley
I recently completed a six-week physical therapy stint at Performance Physical Therapy and could not be more pleased with the results. From the professionalism and friendliness of the staff to the effectiveness of the treatment, my experience at Performance PT could not have been better. I have dealt with lower back pain for well over a year following a car accident. Despite seeing orthopedic surgeons, pain relief doctors, chiropractors, and even other physical therapists, my condition would not improve. I am glad I decided to give physical therapy one more try. The staff at Performance pays attention to detail and are fully invested in identifying what the problem is, then working with the you to formulate an achievable recovery plan. I would highly recommend anyone dealing with muscle pain, especially low back pain, to give Performance PT a shot.
Steve Raposelli, along with his assistants Angela and Maria, helped save me from knee surgery recently. Ive been to other places for PT for other issues in the past, but Performance PT will be my go-to provider for any PT needs I have in the future. The kindness, attention, professionalism, and humor (yes, it was fun to go to PT with them!) that I experienced really made a difference in my recovery. At every visit, I was not hurried or made to wait—I was given full attention and professional treatment. Genuinely concerned about my progress, Steve provided a wealth of information (and homework) that I could use to help myself strengthen and recover fully. Im now active again and looking forward to resuming my running thanks to the team at PPT.
