Ill start by saying I have a masters in animal physiology with a focus on animal welfare and reproductive studies. I have worked with zoo, small animal and wildlife vets and professionals for the last 10 years. My miniature schnauzer is currently there after a pit mix ambushed her and almost killed her. They did a good job with surgery (had to stitch up abdominal muscles and removed approximately 12" if intestines) and post-op care, and recovery has been better than expected. The internal damage was more severe than we thought and I can understand that the cost went up after they started the surgery and found out the extent of her injuries, and had a better length of recovery estimate. However, after calling me Saturday at 4 am to let me know how the surgery went and that she would likely need another day to recover (home Monday instead of Sunday) as well as additional antibiotics and pain meds, they quoted me an extra 300-400 on top of the high-end estimate, about 900 more than the low-end estimate. I called today (Sunday) to see how she was doing, and although post-op care plan and length of stay hasnt changed, they added another 800 to the bill, at least. It is currently 1200 more than the original high-end estimate and more than twice the low-end estimate. Dr. Ambrose says she "cant" work with us on the price because it is set in the computer and has no idea why the other vet on staff quoted us so low and inaccurately. Im sure they care about the animals, but it doesnt keep them from taking advantage of desperate pet owners and I still walk away feeling that its a scam. Based on review for Bradenton Veterinary Emergency on Manatee Ave, I would recommend if there is an emergency, you take your business there instead.

My puppy suffered an allergic reaction to an unknown sting or bite. I called the Veterinary Emergency Center and was advised to bring him in. I asked about cost, and was told it would be between $150 - $200. I took him in and he was seen immediately. There was no waiting for me to fill out paperwork before the vet looked him over and evaluated the situation. She came out, introduced herself, and told me what she planned to do. I agreed to the steroid and Benadryl injections. They needed to keep him for a while to observe to make sure he was breathing okay and the horrible swelling was going down, and they allowed me to be with him in a room during that time, for both our comfort. The two staff members that I saw were both very pleasant and calming. They were very sweet to my dog, and I could hear them in the back cooing to him and playfully talking about puppy kisses. They truly love animals. Best of all, they bill was only $120, and they said if the swelling didnt come down the next day, to bring him back and they would not charge another office visit. Their hours are great, their charges are good for emergency middle of the night visits, and their staff is wonderful. I highly recommend them.

The worst veterinary center in the world, they do not work with prices and take advantage and charge you a fortune just because they know you are desperate. My Cat was unable to breathe and I begged them to work with me and bill me within the month because I just so happen not to have $700 in my pocket. When I said I could not afford the treatment, the vet made me feel worse than I was already feeling, and proceeded to tell me Well if you cannot afford him, take him back to Bishop (the shelter we got him from) and he can go to family who can afford him. I would not recommend this shelter unless you are a millionaire and like back talk from smart ass nurses and know-it-all Vets.

Our dog had a serious stomach problem. We didnt want to wait until the morning to see our vet. When we went to this ER we didnt know what to expect. We saw the vet tech immediately. Soon thereafter the veterinarian came in. She was attentive as we described Sarahs symptoms. She did a thorough physical exam. Our dogs condition required blood work and a scan. Her preliminary diagnosis was correct. She had pancreatitis. We felt she cared about Sarah. She gave us instructions for her care. We were fortunate to receive this type of quality csre. We would highly recommend them.

I brought my cat Alex there in the past and was very satisfied with the service they provided. The vet and techs were compassionate and the care he received was immediate and excellent. What prompts me to write a review was the wonderful care that I received from Carla Vet Tech in the wee hours of the morning. I called during a potential crisis for my diabetic cat Jamie and she warmly guided me through the process of home care during several calls. She was very knowledgeable and I am grateful. Do not hesitate to bring your loved ones there!

We had to take our beloved Elsa here last night. The staff was incredibly professional. They genuinely did all they could to help our 2 year old pup. They were compassionate and through. Highly recommended! We took Elsa to another 24 hour care in Cooper Creek off of university pky first. They left my husband in a room for 20 minutes while he listened to them gossip while he was holding on to our dying dog! Not here though, They rushed her back right away! Thank you for all of your help during this very difficult time for our family.

Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced in my entire life, not just at a vet, but at any place of business! I feel terrible for even bringing my dog here, who knows what they actually do behind closed doors. Luckily we found a different vet that was able to take out his stitches and tube for FREE even though this place wanted to charge us 50$ +, and the staff is EXTREMELY rude. I would highly recommend finding a different ER. Just read all of the other terrible reviews this place has!

Agradezco al equipo de Veterinary Emergency Center por su excelente trabajo. La Dra Olivero fue muy amable conmigo y con mi perrita. Se nota su dominio de conocimiento y me explico todo de una manera clara y sencilla. Una vez mas gracias.

These people really care about animals. I called them to tell them my daughter found a turtle that had been hit by a car and it was suffering. I was apprehensive to call a veterinary office about this - anyhow the person who answered the phone was very sympathetic and without hesitation asked us to bring the turtle in. I would highly recommend this office as they are obviously true animal lovers. How refreshing to find an office with such wonderful staff.

My sister and I brought our husky in the night he passed. Stopped breathing while on the car ride there. Rushed him in and they immediately tried to bring him back and figured out what was wrong, but his spleen had ruptured and nothing they could do. They were very compassionate and did everything they could. They have us a ink print of his paw and a clay mold as well. Lovely people.

This morning around 3:30 I had to bring my dog in to be euthanized. She was 14 yrs old and in a lot of distress and discomfort. The price was the best ER price I could find and was only $13 more than my vet was going to charge. They were very compassionate and sympathetic to our situation and gave us all the time we needed. I would highly suggest this place!!!!
