I have suffered from a panic disorder my entire life, triggered as a young child by multiple "rare disease" diagnoses, and the stress, confusion, traveling, endless tests, experimental treatments, medical board discussions, clinical trials, surgeries, and everything else related to medical conditions that even the most renowned clinics and doctors are baffled about, and you may eventually read when I finally get to it and write my humorous book about being a "professional patient" and a "medical-journal celebrity". Ill make sure Amazon gets it. At age 23, I had my first root canal (of two now) and I never made it to the 2nd phase because I would have a debilitating panic attack whenever I came within 50 feet of my dentists office. If I close my eyes really tight, I can still smell that office. It was a particular blend of antiseptic, latex and acrylic with old wooden furniture and metal file cabinets. Fast forward a couple of decades, my tooth started hurting months ago and I learned to ignore it. I know I shouldve never done that, and I am aware of how serious it may have become. But it wasnt until 2 weeks ago, when it got so bad, I literally grabbed my purse and crossed the street over to Sage Dental on foot. I figured nothing could hurt more than how I was already hurting, in the same way that you cant feel an episiotomy when your baby is already crowning. After 3 appointments, the initial assessment, the complex root canal and the preparation for the crown (which I agree I deserve, in the "Im a freaking queen" way, after going through all this), with Doctors Camejo and Wiscovich (who I like equally much, even though Dr. Wiscovich happens to be a Boricua--I mean this, Dr. Camejo) and their assistants Sebastian and Teresa...for the first time in my entire life, I have plans to return every month if I need to, to get my cleanings, fill cavities, etc. and avoid--at all costs--letting things get so advanced that they threaten my health itself...and my wallet. From the receptionists/admins (a shout out to Samantha!) to the hygienists/assistants and doctors themselves, I have been treated with nothing but compassion, empathy, patience and gentleness. I would recommend these two doctors/offices to anyone like myself, who get jelly legs (or poopy cramps) just at the thought (or the shrieking sound) of a drill. I have a long way to go before I have an "anxiety-free" visit, but clearly I am on my way. :-)

** edited to add that they havent contacted me at all, even though in their response they said they would. ** What a joke. I was excited to see a dentist office open on the same street I live on for my family to go to. Decided to make an appointment a WEEK in advance. Gave them my insurance card so they could verify it over the phone. I took the scheduled day off of work so I could make the appointment. Fast forward to today, the day of the appointment. I arrive 20 minutes early at 11:40 am in case I need to fill paperwork out. At 12:30 the receptionist calls me up to tell me I have no dental coverage. She apparently called them to verify, because someone else didnt verify before I arrived. She also told me to call back and reschedule when I figure out what is going on. I even asked how much it would cost if I just paid out of packet today, because I didnt want to take ANOTHER day off of work. I go to my car and immediately find out that I do have coverage, but its with a different company. I went back in to see if they could verify coverage and I could still be seen since now it was only 12:40. Its not my fault they waited until the time of my appointment to verify! I was told that they wont be calling to verify coverage of the right insurance and that theres no way Im being seen today because someone else is already in the chair. While all of this is going on, Im interrupted by your receptionist taking other calls and appointments. Totally unprofessional. What an absolute joke. A complete workday is wasted due to your office not verifying insurance beforehand, refusing to verify a new insurance, and refusing to see a patient who had an appointment just 30 minutes ago. I had to wait 50 minutes to find out that youre verifying my insurance the day of my appointment! Youve lost my business, my familys business, and any recommendation to friends and family who are looking for a dentist.

Worst dental clinic imaginable. DO NOT GO HERE. I was fooled into thinking it would be a professional office given that it is a national company. I was very wrong. The appointment was delayed by more than 2.5 hours, they want to upcharge you any chance they can, and they treat federal employees like pieces of trash. Be aware that they think you "wont pay" your bill, as opposed to a non-governmental employee who will (makes a lot of sense, right?), so they charge you up front for all services, as if you didnt have insurance, and then tell you they will submit your claims to your insurance companies, and once paid, you will get reimbursed. I paid $300 for one tooth extraction on 3/28, and STILL have not been reimbursed, despite the fact both insurance companies paid what they should have paid (as of 5/15). I should only have paid $35 that day as shown now that the insurance companies have processed the claims. Calling is absolutely no help because they just keep saying it hasnt shown up in the system yet. How long does it take? Absolutely ridiculous and discriminatory to federal employees. It is a joke you are listed as a preferred provider under the FEDVIP plan. I will be reporting your practices to the appropriate agency.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DENTAL CLINIC!!! I have visited there today and the receptionist and dental nurse were quite helpful. I would not recommend the doctor Dr. Joaquin Camejo IV because his observation about the issue was wrong, he did ask what are issues I have, then advised to redo the x-ray, try to explain things that is not accurate as if thinking that you are visiting a dental clinic for the first time so can be fooled with any answer. He lacks experience and might need more training in order to start a practice of his own. He denied doing my regular cleaning (free as per the MetLife insurance) saying that I would require a preventive cleaning that cost around $1,020. He seems to be greedy and denied the regular cleaning after several requests saying that it is against the law and he will loose the license. I have checked the same with other dentist and they said there is no such laws. Its a new place and new equipment but no point in going there unless you would love getting stressed!!

I have seen my share of dental offices/ appointments and Sage dental in Doral is by far the best dental experience I have ever had. It was quality service from the moment I walked in. The staff at the front desk immediately greeted me, the counters were freshly wiped down right before I got there( you can tell they were recently sanitized), the technician grabbed me right at the start of the appointment and was really nice. I had just eaten lunch and was worried about the appearance of my teeth and they actually provided me with a complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste. The dentist was really nice and gentle he was very knowledgeable and talked through just about everything. Plus the environment is clean and by far more updated then I have ever seen. I really enjoyed myself at this appointment and have been recommending it to all my buddies here in Doral. :)) 5 stars!!!
