I visited this vet 2 times, the first time was fine, the second visit was so poor I will never return. On the first visit my cat was treated for skin allergies, no problems. The second I brought my other cat in to be neutered, the cost of which at this vet by the way is $240 which I consider to be excessive. I have worked for a veterinarian twice before, I am very familiar with the procedure, the time it takes and the fact that it was over priced, however, I needed it done, they are close to my house and I had a good experience with them the first time. When the vet came in to examine my cat before drop off she spent 30 seconds listening to his heart and then declared he had hole in it. She recommended I have an EKG run and told me it would cost an additional $400. She told me there was risk he would die during the procedure and I decided rather than risk it to just forget it and give my cat his vaccinations only. I made another appointment for my cat at another vets and made it clear that I was told by Bayview that he has a hole in his heart. The vet who neutered my cat, for $75, told me that there was no problem she could detect at all with his heart. To me, having someone suggest that your pet will die unless you spend an exorbitant amount of money is just disgusting. Obviously I love my cat, I wouldnt want anything to happen to him, which is exactly why I actually considered spending money I dont have. Its worth mentioning also that when I first visited there was an advertisement for a spay/neuter initiative Bayview was participating in. Saying you want to make a difference and actually doing something about it are two very different things. I doubt many people have $240 handy to neuter a cat, I can only imagine what they charge for spaying. Additionally the brunette who works the front desk is not very friendly. I wouldnt call her out right rude, but shes certainly not warm or inviting, which if it were me hiring someone to be the face of my business, the first impression everyone gets when they walk in the door, I might try to hire someone capable of smiling.

El día de ayer tuve una emergencia con un gatito y una amiga me recomendó y me llevó a Bayview Animal clinic Cuando llegamos me sorprendió la atención y lo lindo de la clínica veterinaria. Los perros y gatos que vi llegar y salir estaban contentos, eso es difícil de ver, porque las mascotas siempre le tienen miedo cuando los llevan al veterinario. Cuando el doctor Nelson nos atendió fue muy amable y atento. Llego con una sonrisa, la cual me fue tranquilizando, ya que yo estaba muy triste. En el momento que el doctor iba a chequear a Max, yo estaba llorando y el me tranquilizo diciéndome que mi mascota iba a estar bien. Para los que adoramos a los animales, agradecemos mucho un buen servicio y que puedan corresponder el amor y afecto que les tenemos a nuestra mascotas y a los animalitos que rescatamos. Muchas gracias Dr. Nelson Desde ahora en adelante iré con mis mascotas a su clínica y la recomendare con mucho gusto. Infinitas gracias.....

This Clinic is absolutely amazing. I have never been to an animal clinic that has shown so much devotion and dedication into their practice. Walking into the clinic you are greeted by an amazing staff that are warm, welcoming and incredibly helpful. Their office is often busy which just shows for how in demand they are because of their amazing veterinarians! The technicians are super knowledgeable and gentle with your pet. My experience with Dr.Nelson has been incredible. He really takes the care of your pet personal, making their health and recovery a mission of his. Hes a wonderful doctor whos super intelligent, down to earth and always tells you things as they are, which is the way it should be when it comes to the health of your pet. Dr.Nelson not only takes care of your pet but also takes care of you, giving you alternatives on how to help and care for them in a way that benefits both you and your pet. The prices are amazing and super reasonable for all the work they do! Hes been extremely kind and gentle with my very sick dog and has done absolutely everything in his power to help us both. I would never trust anyone with my sick dog as much as I trust him and the care this clinic provides. Im extremely grateful to have found such an amazing clinic with such an amazing vet and staff. I recommend this clinic to anyone who loves their pets and wants the best care for them in South Florida. Youll never find a clinic thats better!

My husband and I rescued a puppy from HSBC. We had been referred to the VCA hospital (imperial point) the care at the VCA left a lot to be desired. After I complained to a coworker that finding the perfect vet is like finding a unicorn. My coworker recommend Dr Nelson. I thought to myself "If I dislike the current vet how does my dog feel?" Both my husband and I thought Dr. Nelson and team were more than amazing! First of, the Techs loved our girl. They were all gentle and had great bedside manner. Dr. Nelson is just a one in a million type vet! He is friendly, he wanted to make my girl feel safe and comfortable at all times. Just by observing he could tell us a few issues we may have in the future with regards to orthopedic and skeletal problems. That just blew my mind, considering the previous vet, would have referred me to google. He also had some simple, down to earth advice which I am totally up for. He understood that I have grown up on a farm and around livestock and was so interested in my thoughts and experiences. I felt like I connected well with Dr. Nelson. All three of us left feeling like we had done the impossible: found the most amazing, perfect vet! Thank you!

Im very thankful I found this place. I rescued a ferret from craigslist yesterday and I urgently needed to see a veterinarian for him as his nails were neglected and so were his ears. My previous vet I have gone to before finding Bayview were only able to see me next week and when I called here they were able to make an appointment for me very early in the morning. I thought this was very accommodating. The front desk ladies were so nice and welcoming and the vet techs were very knowledgeable about ferrets. I spoke to Dr.Smith about ferrets and their behaviors, I asked him a lot of questions and he answered all of them and was very knowledgeable. He took his time to make sure all of my concerns were met. Not once did I feel pressured to get things that I wasnt there for as in most vet offices. The best part is you cant beat the pricing compared to other exotic veterinarians, it is in my opinion, very affordable. All in all, the receptionists were welcoming, the vet and his techs were accommodating and knowledgeable, the prices are great and the office was very clean and hospitable. I think I will start taking my cats and dogs here too! smile emoticon

Bayview Animal Clinic was recommended to me through a friend and I couldnt be more grateful to have found this little gem. For the past 3 months my kitty has been struggling with urinary issues and was at deaths door the day I brought him in. I couldnt have asked for more from Dr. Nelson and his staff. He told me that putting my baby to sleep was not an option and that he would do whatever he could to help him. Not only did he keep his word but he took a great deal of stress off my shoulders too. Its great to know that theres people like him that still exist who genuinely care about animals and their owners! I literally had other vets turn me away when I brought my dying cat in because his case was beyond their expertise. After my cat had his surgery Dr. Nelson even went as far as to call me on his time off to check on my boy and see how he was doing. Ill forever be thankful for what Dr. Nelson did for my fur baby. Anyones pet would be in great loving hands and I would highly recommend Bayview Animal Clinic to any parent looking for a friendly, top-notch and knowledgeable experience.
