I was referred to her for arthritis. I already knew that I had very pronounced arthritis from prior physician visits, xrays, and a trip to the ER. On the first visit she writes up for blood work and I sign a request to release xrays from two different locations. She sent me home after that visit with a prescription for a muscle relaxer that did nothing more than give me restless legs. A little over a month later I see her again at the next visit expecting to find results from the blood work and xrays. Only the blood work came back. The xrays did not come to her from two different locations???? Anyway, at this visit based only on half the things she requested (blood work only), she gives me a diagnosis of fibromaylgia and starts pushing an anti-anxiety/anti-depressant on me. I told her not only at that visit but at the first that anti-anxiety/anti-depressants did not work well for me at all and that I had had a severely negative reaction to those kinds of meds. She ASKS me if anything had worked for me before and I told her that the only time I had been almost completely out of discomfort was the time the ER physician prescribed pain medication. Mind you, she asked me. She immediately starts treating me as if Im a drug seeker. Then she goes on to tell me that the Celebrex that Im taking, which is once-a-day medication, is not supposed to be taken once a day. She does not listen and has absolutely no affinity for her patients, at least not for me. That was probably the worst physician/patient encounter Ive ever had. I do not understand her at all. Ive never had a doctor diagnose me on only HALF of the work-ups he or she has requested. Seems very flimsy.

Dr. Patel has been my doctor for a few years now. She is very good at what she does. She k Owsley how to get me feeling better when my body is flared up and what to do to try to keep me from having Lupus flares. She is not one to just put you on medicine that you dont need. I love Dr. Patel. She has always been good to me. She did have a big turn over in staff but the same ones have been there the past 3 times Ive been there. They are getting all the kinks worked out and doing a good job. Marcy told me they have 300 new patients waiting to be seen so Im glad I got in with her when I did. Dr. Patel will always help you when you want to help yourself. She doesnt have time for people who do nothing but complain and dont do what she says. Shes no nonsense kind of Doctor. Very serious!

I was referred to Dr. Patel several years ago. I had no idea of what to expect for my first visit. I did let her know that I had SLE diagnosed by a previous physician who relocated. I was given a thorough exam and blood work taken. I am not one for taking medications and notified her that if it was not absolutely necessary, I preferred not to do so. She has helped me significantly with other related issues. Her staff is very friendly even at times when they were going through a big changeover. Ive only had one glitch since I have been her patient but everything else has been fine. I have never been prescribed anything without blood work or an exam first. She is a no nonsense doctor who is truly concerned about helping her patients stay healthy.

Her staff is friendly but clueless. She doesnt listen to her patients at all. When asked to fill out any forms for benefits she doesnt do it, but then when she does, and you give her directions on how they are to be handled -- she doesnt listen - dont know why I was surprised. Then, when I went back to have a 10 minute meeting to discuss how she messed up and I needed a letter from her to fix the situation 1. I have been waiting over a month for the letter and 2. she BILLED me for an office visit. Completely unethical. I got a call from St. Vincents for a survey about her, when I started giving them answers they didnt like, they hung up on me. Some Survey!

She has been my Doctor for over 2 years. Dr. Patel is an excellent physician, she is intelligent and listens when you explain your symptoms.. Her staff was compassionate and very helpful. I travel over 40 plus miles to see her.
