Loved Dr. Auerbach but will not go back.. I asked the front desk numerous times about my co-pay. She kept saying yes. I signed for an additional charge for refraction if necessary. It was not until I checked out that they told me I was out of network ( I had also checked when I made the appointment) and that I owed 4 times what I expected to pay. I was very upset as at no time was I told about a deductible that magically appeared on the paper when they showed it to me later. There was no reason for me to go of network when that charge would have been a $50 co-pay not a $165 charge, and much more to come on top of that. They have an elaborate check-in system and they should not be deceptive as to what networks they are in. If they dont know then they should be much better trained as most everyone is there under insurance and they should know what plans they take and tell you up front if you are in or out of network. I have a major plan so easy for them to know or look up and give you the correct information.

After years of suffering and holding out to the last possible moment it was time to take out the Cataract. A simple procedure certainly. 90% success rate they said. That is easy for people with two functioning eyes. One good eye is a different story. We were convinced the receptionist just picked a name from a book when doctor gave us a referral. But God chose the best doctor he could for our unique situation. Dr. Auerbach and the whole team were extremely patient and understanding with my mother and me. Dr. Thomas even met us on a Sunday morning with a smile. We had a long road with Dr. Auerbach. He erred on the side of caution. He was not eager to just keep cutting and risk the possibility of my mother losing all of her vision. He was patient and professional. A true God send. A Brooklyn Boy after my mothers heart. Thank you for saving, and improving my moms vision. Those two words never seem like enough.
