I had cataract in both eyes and needed surgery which included lens replacement to correct the situation . I had consultation with four surgeons and I selected Dr. Randy Burkes because during the consultation he took the time to explain about the cataract and give me all the options and advised me on the treatment that will be best for my situation , he also answered all my questions, which I really appreciated . However I had more questions but could not get to his office , and was very surprised when Dr. Burkes left a message on my phone that he will call me later to answer my questions. I thought what a dedicated doctor. His staff were also quite friendly,helpful and cared about me . I did not feel pressured to make an immediate decision. Eliana told me to take time and decide which option I would like. I was treated like an individual, not just as another patient. During the surgery Dr. Burkes and the surgical staff really made me very comfortable by their kindness, professionalism, expertise and care that was extended to me. A couple hours after the surgery Dr. Burkes and also the staff at the surgical centre called to find out how I was doing. They really made me feel as family. Now I do not need glasses and can read even fine print , drive in the night , see minute details and even the difference in colors. I am a Dental Hygienist and can perform much more efficient and faster because of my perfect vision following the cataract surgery. This is the first time I have experienced such excellent vision . I am so happy to be able to do so much again .There are no words to express my deep gratitude to Dr. Burkes and his staff for the fantastic job , well done. Much appreciation to Dr. Burkes and staff especially Marscha and Elliana who encouraged me from the moment I first entered the office until the post op appointment was completed. Thank you kindly.

Custom Lasik is fantastic. The staff are great. Friendly and very helpful. Always nice to me on the phone and in person. Dr Gailitis was great and I am very impressed with his skills. Their latest generation laser is sweet. About 10 seconds each to correct my eyes. The staff was very reassuring during what was for me an exciting and a also a little nerve racking but the surgey went beautifuly. I dont want to single any one person out as the whole team was great and once again very reassuring. My surgery was on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning I drove in for my first followup exam and eye test. I had monovision surgery (one eye corrected for distance and one for close-up work. I went from about -5.75 in both eyes to 20:15, better than perfect. I can also read the finest print. No progressive glasses for me anymore. I can see clearly for the first time in 40 years without glasses. I can see far, close-up and everywhere in between. Each day its getting better as my eyes finish healing. I heartily recommend it. A few weeks ago, I made an appointment with Dr. Gailitis to discuss LASIK vision correction out of curiousity more than anything else. It took an hour of my time to make a decision to proceed with the surgery and it has been one of the best decisions of my life. From the moment I walked into the office and met a lovely receptionist, Melanie, to a fantastic optometrist Dr. Young, and in my opinion, absolutely amazing, best LASIK surgeon in South FL, Dr. Gailitis, my experience has been nothing but a pleasure. Everyone at the Center for Lasik made me feel very comfortable, and not only I felt like an important client, but also like a part of the warm and fun family. I was recommended to Dr. Burks about four years ago when I needed cataract surgery. I was also recommended to Baskin Palmer but when I when for my consultation with them and after about two minutes of consultation I was told to go and make an appointment for surgery I did not feel comfortable with them so I called and made an appointment with Dr. Burks, he was very professional and after doing an exam he explained the process I felt so comfortable that I decided right there and then that this is who I want to work on my eye. He did a great job and on March 1st 2016 I went back to have my other eye done and again he did a great job. Thanks to Dr. Burks and Marsha I am very happy with the result and I will recommend him to anyone who needed cataract surgery. Dr. Burks dont rush you in and out like cattle but threat you like human. Love my Dr. Burks and staff they are GREAT........

Dr. Burks has changed my life for the better. I had two cataracts removed with 21 days and on the 22 my vision was almost 20/20. I am a writer and spend many hours each day researching and writing. He has cleared away all my vision problems with the highest level of professionalism, excellence and humanity. Everything that he explained was true and clearly stated. He called me after each surgery to check on by condition later that day. No doctor has ever done that before. I am grateful to him for his knowledge,his compassion and his great staff, especially Marcia, who assists him in the examinations and the surgeries. She too is highly professional and very affable. I felt very comfortable with his staff and his demeanor. The most important result is that I can now see clearly (only twenty-four hours after the second cataract replacement). I recommend Dr. Burks unequivocally!!!!

My husband and I were on our way back home on a Southwest Airlines flight when he picked up SKY magazine and came across an article on Dr Gailitis being one of the top Lasik surgeons in America. The next day I made an appt, after the appt, I had no doubt in my mind and moved forward with scheduling and having the procedure. Dr. G and his staff are very professional and thorough and truly care about their patients and calming their anxieties! Dr. G and staff explained everything in great detail prior to, during and after surgery. Great bedside manners!! Im one month post -op and love the results! What a difference! Im very happy that I no longer have to insert contacts into my eyes. I HIGHLY recommend The Center for Lasik to everyone. This ofc is truly a blessing!

I had RK surgery performed 25 years ago but found I required glasses for both distance and reading approximately 15 years after the RK. After my first visit with Dr Gailitis I was ecstatic to learn that I was a good candidate to shed my glasses once again. It was the most thorough exam I have ever had on my eyes. The staff and office surroundings were so professional and comforting that when the day came to have the surgery I had absolute confidence that my outcome was going to be all that I had hoped.
