DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAT HERE! Ill be honest, I waited an entire day before writing this review because of how upset my visit made me. I recently adopted a kitten through the Volusia Humane Society, less than a week ago, and was told that I had 15 days to schedule a free wellness visit with a local vet; Glencoe is listed as a participating veterinary hospital. When I called to make the appointment, I explained about the adoption and was informed that they dont honor that deal and that they had stopped participating with the humane society awhile ago. No big deal, I had just moved to the area and was looking for a vet regardless of whether or not they would give me a free visit. I also set up my older cat for a visit the same day to get his vaccinations up to date. When we arrived, 15 minutes early, we were greeted in a friendly way and filled out the necessary paperwork. The vet had an emergency come in before us and was running late because of it; I only know this because I overheard the conversation between the receptionist and the customer about how they would proceed with putting her dog down after it attacked her. We were never informed of the situation and ended up waiting for 40 minutes past our scheduled appointment. Im a patient person, I understand emergencies are unpredictable; communication would have been nice, though. My cats ended up being locked up in their carriers for almost an hour, and they still werent freaking out, by some miracle. When we finally got into the exam room, I let my older cat out of his carrier so he could get a feel for the room. When Dr. Bryant entered the room she asked questions about how he plays and I explained to her that he is not a mean cat, but that he occasionally bites while playing, but hes never broken skin and that hes not malicious. She attributed this characteristic to him having been feral for the beginning few months of his life, which is insanity because hes probably one of the sweetest cats Ive ever met. During this conversation, the vet tech had scruffed my cat and was holding him down onto the table for approximately a full minute before Dr. Bryant was even prepared to administer the vaccination. Anyone who knows cats knows that they dont like to be held down, especially when theyre already anxious. Dr. Bryant could see that my cat was getting upset, he was hissing and moaning, so she covered his head with a towel, like that would make the situation better. Obviously it only escalated the situation because he now couldnt see what was happening and why he was being pinned down and then pricked on the thigh twice. As soon as the vet tech let go of my cat he stopped acting upset and like his normal sweet self. Dr. Bryant explained that because of his behavior, we wouldnt be able to do anymore with him on this visit, which is fine, I was already shocked by their behavior at this point. My biggest thought, though, was, "are you really surprised that he acted that way when you man handled him in that manner?". Im pretty positive that anyone, cat or human, would be upset if they were immediately grabbed by the neck and shoved into a table without being pet or greeted. If the treatment of my cat wasnt bad enough, when we began discussing the course of action that we would be following in the future for the cats Dr. Bryant barely listened to my questions and just bulldozed the conversation with information. When I asked if we could get all the dates written down she literally took her hand in front of my face in a "hush" gesture as if I was dumb and interrupting the adults while they were speaking. The entire way she spoke was condescending and that gesture just pushed it over the top for me. Honestly, I could forgive her bedside manner, because my ego isnt that important, but the way she allowed my cat to be treated is unacceptable. I will never be visiting their office again. Everything else about our visit was fine, the office is clean, the receptionist is polite, and the prices are fair. I will not compromise the treatment of my family member, though.

I met Dr Bryant on a Saturday morning at the Edgewater animal shelter when we looking for a new fur baby to adopt. I was very impressed with our conversation and decided to schedule my Lilahs next appointment with her at the Glencoe office. I found the staff to be cheerful, pleasant, and caring and Dr Bryant to be the "old-fashioned" kind of doctor that you just dont see anymore. You can see immediately how much she loves animals and she really listens to what you have to say. I like that she takes all the time you need and is judicious in her recommendation of any invasive procedures unless necessary. I intend to be a long time customer and appreciate Dr Bryant, the staff, and the way they care for our pets!

This vet was recommended to me from a friend and I understand why/am very appreciative. I have my first pup, so Im very protective and they are so sweet with him and provide me with great information. They dont just do the normal vet things, like shots - they ask me if I need any advice at all (ie, potty training, socializing, etc). I appreciate their compassion and they remember my little guys name every time we walk in, which shows me how much they care. Ive also heard that they have some of the most reasonable prices among other vets in the area. I would highly recommend Glencoe Vet :)

You make an appointment and you still wait too long in the waiting room. The staff is cold and indifferent and they charge you for things you "never" asked to be done. If they weigh your pet and take his temperature - youre getting charged for an exam. Like it or not. The receptionist is rude. My last visit the place smelled so bad I decided to NEVER go back there. I cant think of one nice thing to say about this place except that it was close to home. Sad way to run a business that is supposed to be caring....

Love the Vet and her staff! They have been amazing with my old slightly grumpy Rat Terrier and have really worked with his behavior. She did an excellent job on his surgery at the most affordable price I could find locally! Love that they always call 2days after to get an update after your visit!

Dr Bryant and her partner take the time to explain everything that you need to know in detail. We have worked with Dr. Bryant for years and absolutely love her. They go above and beyond their call of duty and just love animals and love what they do.

Rude phone receptionist. Apparently any time of the month they are 2 1/2 weeks out to schedule an appointment
