My parents had Boxer about 7 years old that became ill with Cushing Disease. The treatment is a drug called Vetoryl for which he was prescribed 120 mg per day, a big dose. According to my research, unfortunately after she died, I realized what was happening. Id trusted that dosing and type of medication was what is should be. I discovered that it should probably have been given at a lower dosage. According to my parents, there was never any follow up from 4 Paws on how the dog was doing. My parents knowledge of such matters is limited and I didnt discover what was happening with her (Heidi, their dog) until it was too late. Her eating had become extremely sparse and shed lost an incredible amount of weight, which is part of what the medication does. The animal should have been followed up on with the dose of the medication lowered. But there was no follow up, and she died. In my opinion, there should have been some follow up done at some point after dosing began.

They say that an organization, like a fish, stinks from the head down, yet there is no cute analogy to describe the loving, welcoming, giving, accommodating, caring, gracious and heartfelt environment Dr. Wales had created at Four Paws. The love of our lives, Jackson, has been under the care of Dr Wales and her team since his birth. Today, we made a tearful and overwhelming goodbye to our love, with Dr Wales by our side. Dr Wales has been there since the first exam, through hip replacement surgeries, knee replacement surgeries, a recent seizure disorder, a random giardia infection, yearly checkups, random weekend health scares and late night response to panicked parents calling with questions. We cannot imagine a more gracious team and are so thankful that Dr Wales is at the helm, guiding this lovely clinic, supporting families and embracing us through our joy and our tears. I could not have asked for a better group of people to help me with my 17 year old dachshund Maple over the last 9 months of her time with me. Dr. Gardner as well as the rest of the great staff at Four Paws always treated us so kindly whenever we were there (and we were there a lot!). They were always very sweet and understanding and willing to answer any questions that I had. When we had emergencies, they always fit us in and took great care of us both. And even the toughest time of all, when I had to say goodbye to my girl, they were all still so kind and understanding and took care of EVERYTHING for me. I would honestly recommend this group of vets to anyone with pets. They are AWESOME!

Dr.Maloney is by far the best veterinarian I have ever had! She did the amputation of my cat Bella and it was beyond better than what I ever expected. She guided me through the process, and made me feel very comfortable. I would recommend any of the veterinarians, but Dr. Maloney was more than I could have ever ask for with the situation I was in. Bella has healed wonderfully! She is a 3 legged cat that acts like she has 10 legs! Also, the entire staff from the receptionists to techs are so amazing! I cannot thank the lovely employees enough on how they took the time and consideration on helping my dog. My dog was sick when I woke up and I immediately took him to the vet and even though I did not have an appointment, they still found a way to help my sick dog. They were very caring and helpful. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone in need of a great Veterinary Clinic. Thomas feels ten times better and should be back to his normal happy-going self in no time thanks to Four Paws!

I chose 4 paws for my dogs Rex, and Caleb because of the reviews, my experience every time I went was terrible. 4 paws was remodeling, and I scheduled an appointment however they fell to mention that they are currently located downtown. No one informed while scheduling the appointment or contacted me to informe of there current location.I was extremely upset, and told the front lady that this would be the last time I bring my dogs, the lady did not care and said ok.

My pups (and me, too!) absolutely adore the staff at Four Paws. When Fiona was attacked two years ago, Dr. Warren and her fantastic staff saved her life (62 stitches on an 18-pound dog!) and took the very best care of her. Theyre gentle and caring, always happy to see the furry friends who walk through their door. I highly recommend Four Paws to anyone who loves their critter and wants the best vets in Columbia!

The best place to bring your pet in Columbia, SC. My dog loves seeing Dr. Maloney and the rest of their staff. I love knowing he gets top rated care. And after speaking with friends in Columbia who have taken their pets elsewhere, I know their prices are very reasonable. They definitely have my recommendation.

Super happy with 4 paws! My son is an out of state college student, I pay his kitty vet bills from Maryland. Staff is very accommodating and helpful. Treatment was determined based on finances and kittys best interest- did not feel pushed to do things we could not afford. Would recommend without reservation.

my husband and I took our puppy here after I saw the great reviews they had and Im so glad we did! They have the best care and with reasonable prices as well. I wished they would have asked if we wanted to vaccinate for bordetella (Because he wont ever get border) but thats it.

Excellent care when my cat Rex began to struggle and need repeated visits. When we eventually list of cat we got a card signed by all the staff in sympathy with personalized notes. I could tell all along they cared and were attentive. Highly recommend.

Natascha Rose loves the doctors and staff @ Four Paws. The medical & surgical care she has recieved there has been of the highest quality. The facility is clean and bright. The staff is friendly and supportive. If you have a pet, you need Four Paws!
