The owners of the Sarasota, Fl, location are deceitful and they do not provide safe continuity of care. Not only that but they fraudulently charged my caregivers credit card. On the day in question I had a doctor appointment but the agency could not provide a competent aid who could get me out of bed with a Hoyer. The owner is very aware that since I broke my hip last June that this is the only way I can get out of bed. The aids provided were skilled at safely helping me but on that Thursday when I had to go to the doctor they had no aid available. The owner Jeff Cooper and the director of nursing Robin informed us that Robin could help me. Our normal cost for an aid is $23 an hour. Robin came and helped me out of bed but she is not competent. She hurt me physically because she had little experience with the Hoyer Lift. That being said I had no idea that she cost $65 an hour. She was in my home from 8:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. The total cost of that visit was $130 which they charged to his credit card without our permission. Had I known we would be charged such an exorbitant amount simply to get me out of bed I would have cancelled my doctors appointment. I spoke to the own Jeff concerning this and not only was he rude but he did not return any of that money to us. The scheduler called my home and said she was sending a new aid out to me. First of all I never asked for an aid and secondly when I asked if the girl knew how to use a Hoyer lift, Heather, the scheduler, said "No, none of our caregivers know how to use a lift" I said what good would that do me then if I could not get up to wash my hair and hung up. I stopped calling them for service from that point (there was no contract involved) yet Jeff Cooper had the unmitigated audacity to call my home and argue with me. I am an ill woman, bedridden with a blood clot and sever pain issues. He had no respect for my situation almost demanding an answer as to why I did not ask for services. I told him I was no longer using his company and that he had already been paid in full including the fraudulent charges that we gave him no permission to put on my caregivers credit card. I told him I would not be lambasted on my phone in my home by a company I owed no money to and that I was no longer using. He continued arguing with me, again unconcerned that he was causing stress to an disabled ill woman. I hung up on him. He had the nerve to call me back. I did not answer but he left a message on my answering machine. He said I hung up him and i had hung up on his receptionist and the proceeded to ask me to call him back. Seriously, Mr. Cooper, do you really believe you have the authority to demand I call you back after I hung up on you because you were causing me unnecessary stress? You are not my father, brother, boyfriend, partner or husband. What gives you the right to say that to me? I dont owe you a penny. You are unable to provide me with the services that I need. And yet you believe that I owe you some kind of courtesy? You, sir, need to get into another line of work. How dare you make life more difficult for a disabled, bedridden suffering woman! Do you treat all your clients in this manner? Shame on you! You sir have no heart, no consideration, you are disrespectful, childish and soulless! My name is Nancy Curra and I would never recommend this company to anyone. If you cannot provide the all the services that your parent company offers on the internet you have no right to be in this business, much less the medical field! Again - Shame on you, sir, and on Robin, and Susan Cooper. You see this as just a business when you should see it as not only a service but a privilege, helping the helpless. God forbid you are treated likewise when your day comes.

Words cannot express how grateful I am to Cyndi and her team of aides. My dear sweet aunt was taken ill with a catastrophic illness that took her from us in just 8 weeks. My aunt went into a assisted care facility near my parents and I dont know what our family would have done without Brightstar. They were kind, gentle and understanding with my Aunt (who had all her facilities and told it like it was), and she adored them for the care they gave her. They were so wonderful and really had my Aunts best interest at heart, that we had them come back to be with her even when hospice caregiver was there. I had to deal with things long distance and I spoke with Cyndi nearly everyday -- she gave me detailed reports about my Aunt and I was better able to advocate for her. I am so thankful we found these special people -- I give them the highest possible recommendation.

Brightstar Care of Sarasota has provided 24 hour care to an 88 year old client and her 90 year old companion for almost 9 months. The quality of service has been excellent. The care givers are professional, kind and considerate and if there is a conflict with a particular care giver Brightstar is quick to supply a more suitable replacement care provider. Susan has gone above and beyond in her attention to the clients needs , such as attending doctors appointments and gathering information regarding assisted living facilities, even when it might mean the loss of business for Brightstar. I would reccommend Brighstar in the future without hesitation. Carlton Ward

Thank you Brightstar for making the last year & a half of my Father in Laws life easier & happier. My husband and I have nothing but praise for the Brightstar services. We used them all! ( Medical transport, daily care, overnight care, Drs. appointments, visits to loved ones) We were always contacted about issues before they became a problem. Communication is key and Susan was great at that! Its nice to have a contact when you live a thousand miles away. The aides were wonderful-each & every one! Sadly, my father in law passed away in April. Now we miss him as well as Susan and the Brightstar aides.

Brightstar Care of North Sarasota provided care for my 93 old mother for 9 months. During that time, her nurse, Cyndi, was a loving and caring part of her life. Cyndi was a tremendous help to me by keeping me informed of my mothers condition and moods. She was wonderful. Scheduling and billing was an easy process with this company. Everyone was helpful and kind. Highly recommend them.

Wonderful experience with Bright Star of North Sarasota. The care provided is excellent. We required care over a holiday weekend and the request was very last minute. The owner actually stepped in herself so we could have care needed for our mother. I would highly recommend Bright Star of North Sarasota and would utilize their services again in a heartbeat!!
