Love Dr. Trunk but not satisfied with her billing staff. After receiving a blank billing statement, which is highly unprofessional, I called to find out what was going on. Not only was the lady argumentative with me, but she fell back on the tired line of it is only an estimate and that Id need to call the insurance to find out what happened. Then she admitted it was due to their office only doing white fillings when the insurance only pays full price for silver. No one tells you this at the time of service even though they know full well this is probable. Reputable staff would include this in an estimate to give you a heads up. Of course, good staff would allow people to talk without constant interruption when you call with questions, too, but that didnt happen either. I appreciate Dr. Trunks manner and skill but I cannot stand incompetent office staff. When you work with these insurance companies day in, day out, you know what to expect. A responsible person would alert you about the different types of fillings... obviously this is not the type of person they have working in the billing department. Im afraid well be searching for a new dental office with staff that gives you all the facts before the service is provided. I have no problem paying for service but I feel like we were not given all the information. Experiences with other dental offices have proven to me that this office is not doing due diligence for their patients.

Dear Betty A, We are so bummed to see your review and apologize for the unfortunate experience. Sometimes our office gets stuck between patients and insurance companies when it comes to interpreting benefits. We do try our very best to coordinate services between the two entities but we can only work with the information we are given at the time. The tired old line "it is only an estimate" is awful, we know. We wish insurance companies were more forthright with information and didnt require our team members to spend hours on the phone, online, or requesting more information just to get basic information and then it be inaccurate. It doesnt help any business to provide inaccurate information and as youve experienced, doesnt sit well with our patient family. We have disclaimers on the financial policy and on recommended treatment plans just in case this type of situation slips through the cracks. Dentistry is not a black and white science and involves many sources of inputs that are ultimately out of our control. Im sorry the coordination of benefits failed to meet your expectations and very disappointed to see we lost a piece of our patient family. We do thank you for your honest feedback and should you not find happiness in your new office we will always be happy to welcome you back to your "dental home". -Dr. Trunk and team

I received professional care in this office and the office of Dr. Joseph Mavec at Ponte Vedra Endodontics, for an additional urgent procedure (this appointment was immediately set up for me by Dental Doctors of Florida). I received excellent care, customer service, follow up phone calls and my records were communicated to my dentist at home. Highly satisfied patient.

Dr. Trunk and her staff are fantastic! To the lady that had a problem with not understanding why she was getting billed for white fillings... one should always know what their insurance covers (and doesnt cover). Then you check with your dentist... its not brain surgery!

I had a crown come off during an extended stay in St Augustine area. I was able to get an appointment the next day. The office itself is the most pleasant Dr office Ive ever been in. Treatment went well from competent dentist and staff. Will return if I ever have a need.
