If you love your child, DO NOT take them to this "doctor". A trip to this office resulted in my baby being hospitalized for four days. I am seriously concerned about this offices cleanliness as well as the doctors dedication to his patients well being. We took our toddler there for his well visit as we are new to this area and this office as in close proximity to our new home. We waited a very long time to see the doctor. When we finally were able to get back into a room, the rooms seemed dated and unclean. It should have been an immediate red flag that the rooms do not have sinks in them or any other way to sanitize. between patients. Upon meeting the doctor, he was unprepared and unfamiliar with my sons medical conditions. He had not bothered to read his chart until in the room with him. I had to explain to him what his diagnoses meant. I would think after years of being a doctor, he would be better versed in childrens illnesses. He seemed more interested in small talk. After the doctor left the room, we waited again to see a "nurse" to administer his vaccines, however the doctor never communicated that to us, so after 20 minutes, I went to the front desk to ask what was going on. After his vaccination, the nurse left the room, and we waited again. After another 20 minutes, I went back to the front desk to inquire why we were waiting and was told that we could leave. This should have been communicated to us. We went to the front desk expecting a visit summary (as most professional offices provide) and an opportunity to schedule the next well visit; however this office did neither. Within 48 our baby began getting severely ill. As soon as the office was "open", we rushed him to Tarpon Springs Pediatrics at 9AM (as the office hours state). No one was there. We called, no one answered. I left a message. We waited until 9:15, then rushed our child to another doctor. My baby had to be taken to the emergency room. He had a fever of 103 and blisters all over him. He stopped eating and was in excruciating pain. He was hospitalized for four days with a severe case of a contagious illness. The only place he could have picked it up was from this office. During the hospitalization, we called the doctor several more times. He never bothered calling us back. Thank goodness for the staff at All Childrens Hospital as they helped my child. If you want a clean, professional, caring pediatrician, please choose another doctor. This doctor treats his patients like an afterthought.

**Warning** Please read this whole post. Do NOT go see this Dr.. Where do I start? To make a long story short, we were having insurance issues and were finally able to pick a new dr for our 2 year old daughter. We picked dr. Hidalgo based on a recommendation (I am not sure why anyone would ever recommend him!)..Anyway..little did we know this would be a very big mistake. My daughter had a "pimple" that fairly quickly turned into what is known as an abscess. We needed to see the Dr. asap. We got in to see him, and he told us that the abscess needed to be "squeezed". I had never dealt with anything of this sort before, so I was trusting the Dr. and his nurses to give me the proper information. So, one of his nurses squeezed her abscess (also gave script for antibiotics), and then they gave us the instructions that we needed to be squeezing the abscess out at home, at least once a day. They gave NO further instruction, no info sheet, nothing telling us about hot compresses (something we found out on our own)...So, we went home, and per dr.s orders squeezed the pus out everyday (mind you this was a very traumatic and painful experience for our poor 2 year old!)..well.things only got worse a couple days from there. Our daughter ended up going to urgent care, then transferred to a childrens hospital where she had to be hooked up to intravenous antibiotics and have surgery to have the site drained. The drs and staff at the hospital said we SHOULD NOT have been squeezing it, as that can spread infection and make things worse. Which, come to find out, that is exactly what had happened. This was common knowledge among a lot of people we spoke with..a lot of them not even being Drs....why on earth was a DR telling us this horrible advice?? ON TOP OF THAT, this dr. never once called the hospital to check up on his patient/my daughter. AND, I had called to leave a message with them, while we were staying in the hospital to ask if my daughters test results had come back yet (it had been days) to determine what the cause of the abscess was. They NEVER called me back. I also wanted to add, there arent any sinks in the rooms, and I did not see any sinks outside the rooms either. Where do these people wash their hands? How is this aloud? PLEASE do yourself a favor...and find another dr. Our daughter could have died from this Dr.s advice! it makes me sick. I already reported this Dr. to our insurance company...and will also be reporting anywhere else I am able to.

We have been through a ton of pediatricians for our children. Our youngest having alot of health issues that needed to be seen by a specialist. He gave us the information that visit no drawing it out like the other doctors have done until we sought answers on the internet. He even made sure to get all the blood tests for the specialists along with his so that she didnt have to have multiple blood draws. Everytime we call with a sick visit we get in right away. Hes been flexible with our vaccination choices and very down to earth. He is the doctor we have been searching for. I highly recommend his office.

I have 4 children in which they scheduled all at one time .. however I had to split up my 2 children in one room and 2 in another which means its now a double visit So instead of being flexible I now have a 2 hour wait instead of just 1 . Judging by the reviews I would say this is a poor choice of pediatricians.

The BEST pediatrician! He was recommended to us by another physician...who brought his children to Dr. Hidalgo...and weve seen him for the last 20 years.
