I made appointment for late afternoon and my wife brought our 4yr old in for standard testing (anticonvulsant med levels, CBC, cmp). Weve had to do this testing every 3-6 months for the last 4.5 years. The technician was adamant that my daughter needed to fast prior and shouldnt have taken any meds prior (neither weve done for over 4 years, especially since these are anticonvulsant meds that keep her from having seizures). My wife called me and said that after 45 min they wouldnt draw her blood. I called the Drs office and spoke with one of the RNs (whom confirmed that neither was necessary). I called my wife back and told her to have the Quest tech call the Drs office and speak with this RN at a specific extension, and that she would confirm this. It was now 10 min before this Quest office closed, and they told my wife that they couldnt reach the RN. My wife walk out of Quest and called me to tell me this; I called the Drs office and the RN picked up immediately; she said she was sitting there waiting for them to call). It was obvious there was something going on here; for some reason Quest was being untruthful and just didnt want to do the blood draw. They told my wife to bring our little girl back at 7:00am the next morning and they would do it first thing. My wife took our little girl back at 7:00am the next morning and 4 different techs couldnt draw her blood. After 40 min their answer was to "take her to a different Quest or a childrens hospital." Uhmmm, isnt this their job? This is supposedly what they do for a living. Weve had it done here many times in the past and never had this problem. Why are this many people so bad at what they do that it requires some kind of child whisperer specialist to do their job? If I was this bad at my job Id lose my job. And its odd weve never had to go to a specialist in the past. I guess everyone prior was competent at their job . . . SIDE NOTE; I was at this Quest facility with my daughter earlier in the year getting this same bloodwork done (I made an appointment and we had no issues of any kind). However I witnessed the staff treat walk-ins terribly, openly scolding them for coming in at lunch time, and making rude insinuations about making sure it hurt when they got their blood drawn "maybe itll teach them not to come in during our lunch time". Overall this is just unacceptable behavior, and QUEST should look into the actions of the staff here at this location.

My fiancee and I walked into the office at 11:53 unaware of the time from running around doctors offices until we had to sign in. All we wanted was for my fiancee to get a quick blood work done which was already paid for in advance. The moment he walked up one of the phlebotomist said to him " I dont know why you come in as we are leaving for lunch" extremely rude, this wasnt the only thing she said as he turned away she said, " theres going to be some hard sticking" and as she walked one of the patients out she spoke loudly behind her stating " Any one with HALF THE BRAIN would know not to come in during lunch hours!" I wish i had her name, she was about 53 around her late 50s I assume with very thin hair that had some curl to it. The other phlebotomist that also saw we were waiting and had to say loudly "REALLY 3 times" shook her head and walked away. This is such BAD practice! If it was such a damn issue then they should have said kindly that the office was closing and if we could come back after lunch! there was two other people ahead of us also waiting i didnt see what the big issue was because it literally took not even a MINUTE for her to get him to the back and walk us back out! Some one who can continue to show so much aggrevation and during the 3 minutes of us waiting continuously talking so badly about us should not be working! I feel that anyone who can blatantly be so rude and disrespectful to someone must of not been the first time, this tarpon springs location was the WORST place to go to! She clearly feels that she can say what ever she pleases to people with the amount of disrespect. I will be calling their corporations and i hope they act on this it was an embarrassment and unnecessary for a woman like this should not be employed!!!!

Went yesterday with my 4 year old granddaughter and technicians couldnt take blood because she screamed and cried and moved too much, was told to take this morning and would not be required to wait just give her name and she would be passed My son in law brought her in at 7:15 am and surprisingly was greeted by 2 very rude technicians who refused to honor what they themselves promised yesterday and even threw clip board All these in front of my granddaughter and other patients present They even hid their name tags when he told them he would report them Thankfully another technician, Johnny I believe, jumped in and attended the situation He was able to take blood with no problem What an awful experience

The wait is ridiculous! The staff is unsympathetic and have no regard about your time. Its ridiculous!!!!!
