My grandmother had back surgery and was transfered to this home. She was scheduled for 2 weeks to do rehabilitation. She hasnt been there 1 day and already has issues. No one assist her to go to the bathroom. They did not offer a wheelchair nor walker to get back and forth to the bathroom. They didnt provide her medication in a timely manner. She called for assistance numerous times to use the bathroom and was sent a male to assist her. He didnt help her up, didnt help her sit. Mind you she has just gotten out of back surgery. They left her for 30 minutes in the bathroom even though she repeatedly pressed the nurse button. She finally decides to get up on her own. When she makes it out the door. She finds the nurse laying on the couch RECLINED, with the pillow over his face. This nurse fell ASLEEP on the job when he was suppose to be assisting an elderly woman that just got transfered from back surgery. I honestly dont recommend this place. It may have just been the night shift that is careless. But these nurses are getting paid to take care of the elderly and are actually falling asleep on the job.

My grandma lives in Florida and was getting a little to matured to live by herself. She didnt want to leave the Florida lifestyle and come live with me. So we decided to put her in assistance living. I can rest easier knowing she is okay. I have visited this place multiple times to make sure they were okay to my meemaw. Most the time I go to visit her I have to go on a hunt to find her. She is happy where she lives now. She keeps saying wants me to stop calling so much and enjoy my life more " Im okay baby, dont worry about your grandma so much." she always says when I call. It makes me smile that my grandma is still smiles about the situation. Thanks Astoria for helping my grandma live happier!

Apparently things have changed in the last six moonths as several, relatives, and friends have provided their experiences at Astoria One had his wife in there twice , the first time was not great and the second time was worse. My sister is there and she reports that her roommate is Spanish and insists on playing that TV so loud in spaish she cannot enjoy hers. She told one of the attendents she needed a pain pil and that person sent in a nurse about twenty minutes later and she went to get the pill and had not come back in 45 minutes. The food portions are "skimpy and served at odd intervals. Patients those that have been in both report tSpring Hill is much better on several counts . .

My grandparents have lived in Florida for a number of years now & when my grandpa started having some health issues we began looking into assisted living facilities. After an extensive search we came across Astoria & fell in love! The facilities, nurses & staff are all nice and my grandparents love living there. They do not feel like their independence was taken away plus they have help when they need it. I would highly recommend Astoria to any friends & family!

This is a wonderful facility! I was worried about my mother moving into assisted living in another state, but she did not want to move away from Florida. So while we were searching she said she had heard some great things about Astoria & when we checked it out, it was everything we were looking for & more! My mother loves it there & I am so happy she found a place with amazing people, nurses and staff.
