I have a GSD who has had itchy irritated skin for about 2 years. It was so bad that she had hot spots where she had been chewing herself. I had taken her to my vet on several occasions. Nothing they did helped. Then she developed an irritation around her vulva area. Took her back to the vet and what they prescribed did not help. Months of this had gone by. They kept telling me she would need surgery to fix it. I was very irritated and frustrated and decided to try Good Hands on the recommendation of a friend. We met with Dr. Smith. She listened to what my concerns were and took a more conservative approach, instead of trying to push surgery on my dog. She even took the time to call and check on Darbys progress between visits. Darbys case was a tough one but she is no longer an itchy dog and her girl area has healed! Dr. Smith is kind and good at what she does. Darby is a happier dog and I am grateful to have found a new vet.

Best Vet clinic ever in my 30 years of needing Vet services! The staff are always welcoming with special touches for the owner with water and candy! The doctors are so compassionate and caring. My dogs feel at home when visiting the doctor. Our vet,Heather Falany D.V.M, gets on the floor to say hello to our furry children! 5 gold starts! Highly recommend them. Even when we had to put one of our pets, 17 years old, to sleep, the compassion poured out from the front desk, practice manager, vet tech, and Veterinarian. The doctors are up to date with the latest treatments. Kind, caring, compassionate, premier customer service, and love for our furry children!

Good Hands has taken care of our dogs for the last 10+ years. They have been there with us for the good times and the bad. When we had to euthanize our dog, they were so very compassionate in this tough situation. Our new puppy and our rescue dogs are treated as part of the family. I have always felt confident with any of the vets on duty. The staff will call with follow-ups to make sure all is well after surgery or an emergency visit. Vets will call you back if you have a question. My pets deserve nothing less.

I can tell you that our dog likes this place a lot, but there have been some issues with billing in the past (a problem with record keeping and another dog with the same name) and fleas after staying in the kennel. After the second infestation we stopped boarding here but still go for checkups and such. The vets are all quite nice and seem very competent. The kennel staff was also great and its a shame we kept having the flea issues or wed still be taking our dog in for occasional "day care" which she loved so much.

I dropped my cats off for a grooming appointment and was overcharged for $150 in services I did not ever request or approve. The vets and groomers seem good. But they refused to adjust my bill even after I talked to them about the problem. I would take my car to a mechanic who made unapproved "repairs". I wont return to this vet again ever. There are plenty of excellent vets in the Athens area who dont rip you off.

Its rare where you can go somewhere and be happy to see any of the Dr.s. The entire staff is so friendly. They always make a point to say hello, recognize you by addressing you by your name. Come out from behind the front reception desk area to say hello to your pet. All the technicians are very knowledgable and friendly. I absolutely highly recommend them!!!

Good Hands Vet ... Is the perfect place for My Sweet Puppy Jolene and Our Family..the entire staff is so patient and understanding ALWAYS... Im truly one of those fruit loop pet owners ... This is the BEST clinic and staff ever. Always attentive, caring, well informed and so compassionate. All my pets have been treated for over two years and I would never consider going anywhere else. I had to say goodbye to my 18 year old cat and their compassion and consideration was above and beyond anything I could ever imagine.
