Where Im from, the Dentists do the work, and the assistants ASSIST. I was told I had cavities that needed to be filled in and the dentist leaves the room to see other patients while the assistant was the one who did all the work. If I hadnt just had holes drilled in my teeth I wouldve gotten up and walked out because the assistant kept complaining OUT LOUD and to every one that walked by the whole time that she didnt have the right tools and materials and just made-do with what she had. She kept talking to every person that walked by the door...instead of paying attention to what she was doing in my mouth. I ended up with destroyed gums that were so painful and bleeding for 2 weeks after, I could barely eat let alone brush my teeth. Before I went in, my teeth did not hurt at all. And now the fillings are such cheap material they are discolored and werent even done properly so I am seeing a DIFFERENT dentist to have their shoddy work fixed. In addition, the front desk "manager" is rude, the staff is unfriendly and they are too busy chatting with each other and not to patients, they overcharge you for everything, bill you things you dont want, and file insurance improperly so you are left with outrageous bills that should not exist. It would be cheaper and in your better interest to seek a dentist elsewhere. Terrible practice. My only recommendation would be to stay as far away as possible. edit: I forgot to mention that when I had my teeth cleaned the dentist didnt even stick around long enough to answer my questions. She just told me I had 9..I repeat NINE cavities to be filled. They scared me enough that I let them do 3, and when I went to get a second opinion the new dentist told me I absolutely DID NOT need any more fillings. They also told me some extra x-ray was included in my initial consultation even though I said I didnt want it, but they insisted I do it, so I did. And then I got a bill in the mail that I owed an additional $75 for something I didnt even want. So basically Buckhead Smiles is just trying to rob you. STAY AWAY!!!

I made an appointment here because they take my insurance, and its close to my office. First of all, their paperwork is very strange, didnt ask normal questions that should be asked. I arrived early and waited over 30 mins. Finally said I have to leave, because I needed to get back to work, and the girl got me to the back quickly. The facility in the back did not look sanitary and was very small and looked unorganized. The tech wiped the chair off with bleach and had me sit down right on the wet cleaner. I ended up leaving because of the timing after waiting over 30 minutes, then seeing the facility. This place is not for me. While waiting, I witnessed a patient coming out and standing at the front desk for several minutes waiting to pay, the office guy was sitting right in front of her. After several awkward minutes, he looks up and says, "oh gosh I didnt see you standing there!" Um, she was right in front of him, inches away... Also if you choose to go here, beware: they offer this extra screening that is an extra $26, thats not covered by insurance and apparently add it to your bill automatically, even if you signed the paper to not add it. I witnessed two people having to ask them to take that off their bill because they didnt authorize or have the additional exam. If you have a dental emergency or urgent issue, this may be an okay place, but if you want to go to a dentist for a regular cleaning, heck no.

After much research for a new dentist I chose Dr. Negelow at Buckhead Smile Center. I showed up for my appointment excepting to see the doctor I made the appointment for but instead Dr. Kent Ellington did the examination. We discuss my concern about my crown and decided to put a new crown and that required a root canal?! I returned the next week and we got underway. He drilled and drilled and drilled told me he almost got it then stopped got up and walked out. His assistant came back and told me I had to see a specialist gave me a piece of paper and told me to have a nice day. They didnt even know if the dentist was in my network and if he wasnt I would have to choose someone that was. When I arrived at the front desk they handed me my money back and told me again "have a nice day". After telling them I have no clue whats going on they called a nurse out to explain to me that my tooth was too calcified to work on it. Bottom line he could have saw that from the x-rays why did he move on with the procedure. Then to leave in the midst of on operation with no explanation. Then shoved out of the office. If I did not demand an explanation I would not have gotten one. I left in worst condition than I came in.

Dear Dr. McGowan, Mr. Edmunds, and Buckhead Smile Center staff, As a new patient to this dental office I was amazed! I rarely ever take the time to stop my life and write a review of appreciation. I simply view good customer service as “people doing their jobs”. However, after the above-and-beyond service I received; I felt compelled to write this. The office manager Mr. Edmunds is the best I’ve ever experienced. He went out of his way to meet my requests and made my first impression a lasting one. Dr. McGowan’s knowledge and willingness to sit and answer all my questions made me feel cared for. I will only book with her. Overall the experience was uncommonly memorable. Mr. Edmunds and Dr. McGowan are simply the best! As long as these two individuals remain at this office, I will remain a loyal patron. Great Job! David Williams

Ive been a patient of Buckhead Smile for many years. My experience with each and every staff member is above reproach. Not only are they kind and caring, but even more important to me, they are professional and experts at what they do. They have treated all of my dental issues in the most ethical and professional way humanly possible, always notifying me of any out of pocket cost ahead of time, unlike so many dentists who inform you of your out of pocket only after you have the work done, so I could make both educated and informed decisions. Thank you Buckhead Smile for my perfect teeth and your professional services! My most recent experience was, once again, the best of the best!

They had someone named Dr. Raymond coming in on Saturdays to do crowns. My partner needed two crowns. Not only was the front desk wrong about the cost, it was much higher in the end, they also did one of them incorrectly. The second crown, costing $1,400, was very sloppy. Im now paying another dentist to do what this place could not. I am sure some of the dentists are decent, but this place is like a factory. We were always waiting for an hour or more and usually they were extremely rough. One time my partner came out crying from how bad the assistant hurt her. I will be disputing the charges for the crown and Im sure thats going to be a nightmare. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!
