I have never been more disappointed in the treatment received at any facility. I used Cat Care Hospital for years and trusted them, referred all my friends and clients at the rescue that I work with to them. I dont know if the business changed hands or what but from the start of this year until my last visit, every trip was a decline. It seems like a constant rotation of techs and vets, I dont think they even have a full-time vet. My issues started when I found a lump on my sweet kittys face and had them check it out; they lanced it and said it would be fine. The next day it was larger than before. We had a teeth cleaning scheduled so I had them re-examine while she was put under. They found that it was worse than their original diagnosis, it ended up being cancer. Thank god she needed her teeth cleaned or they would not have caught it. She recovered well and I commend them for the way they treated her during her recovery. That was handled very well. However, during that time I mentioned to the vet on duty (who I never saw again) that she had a cough that sounded different from her normal allergies. He said to give her some pill that I could NEVER find and that it was just allergies- didnt even examine her. But we trusted them. So about two months pass and her cough keeps getting worse & worse. We take her back to have that checked out and they found that she had a hairball stuck in her belly that required an IV and several days stay at the facility. Had this been addressed when the cough started, we might have saved a lot of money and stress on our cat. During that time they treated her for what I was told was a severe ear infection (I work with cats and I check her ears often, I had seen zero signs of an infection). They used a medication called Otibiotic Ointment in her ears and sent us home with more to treat her. The package was clearly labeled for use in DOGS ONLY. But again, I stupidly trusted them. I noticed that she was not responding to my voice less than 2 days after bringing her home. I tested her ears and she couldnt hear ANYTHING. I rushed her back to them and they confirmed she was deaf. The vet I spoke to at the time said that she has only seen this happen once, in a dog. So not only did they cause my cat to go deaf by administering a medication that is NOT for cats, but this is a known harmful medication. I did a lot of research and it has caused many animals to go deaf. Its been another 2 months and she is still 100% deaf. It has severely impacted her quality of life. She is scared easily now and stopped playing completely. On top of all that, they refused to apologize or acknowledge their mistake. It seems all they want these days is more money and they have lost their compassion. In the past, my large bills (were talking over 1k a visit, multiple times) have INCLUDED the follow-up. So I assumed her follow-up x-ray would be included as they told us it was something she would need to come back for. When we asked the receptionist if we owed anything (I wanted to be sure) I was met with snark and sarcasm. I want to say her name is Sheila but I cannot be sure; she is ALWAYS working the front. She has been rude on every single visit and I cannot understand her snarky attitude toward the customers. She was very rude about the payment, despite the fact that we paid immediately for the x-ray. We told her we would never be coming back. She is absolutely part of that reason. I have been advised by several other vets that this constitutes malpractice. I strongly feel other cat owners need to be aware of their carelessness and in particular, this medication (Photo attached). In summary, this place used to be great but now I wouldnt trust them with so much as a potato.

I am so pissed!!! I will try to keep this clean! We found this Mommy and 2 kittens hanging around the house. Being animal lovers we thought it best to get them off the street and was turned on to CCH! I realize the importance of TNR and appreciate people that help keep the population down. CCR is an advocate of TNR and will spay and neuter at no cost. What I didnt realize is what complete HACKS they are!!! WE dropped off mom and the kids Friday morning and was asked if we wanted the ears clipped, we said no since we were fostering and would have homes for them. Picked up the cats this morning (Saturday) and was completely horrified once we got home and let the cats out of the carriers. Their ears were completely mutilated!!!! The pictures are of all 3 cats with one of the ears taken half off! What the F**K kind of people do that? We have had many cats with a little notch or V taken out of the ear and have never in my life seen anything like this. Again its great what they do to assist in the pet population, but at least know what the hell your doing!! If a tech mutilated these kittens his or her ass needs to be fired and apologize to each of these poor kittens! If it was the Vet that did this you need to find a new profession! Be warned!!!!!

I won't even give them the satisfaction of one star. We took our cat there with a broken leg because we live right down the street and were very concerned. Although we explained to them that we were hard-pressed financially, they failed to inform us of all the 'extras' they'd be charging us for. On top of the expense, the 'ladies' (I use the term loosely) at the front desk became rude and less-than hospitable when they found out we werent ready with cash in hand immediately (we hadnt even seen the xrays yet). When we finally got to see the xray, they just stuck it on a lightboard and left us to decipher it for ourselves. The reviews we have now read, these people seem to be all about the money. As for Dr. Rowell? I question the existence of this person since he or she wasn't there when we arrived at 10:30am, nor was there an attempt by the staff to introduce us to or allow us to speak to the vet. In short, this place is WAY over-priced and manned by unfriendly, snot-nosed, uppity hibbitty-hoos. Never going there again.

Wish Dr. Rowell, owner , would at least introduce herself when were there. We do like Dr. Renau (sp.) who is there 2 days a week, and am reasonably sure that Dr. Rowell is in office too. As many times as weve been to Cat Care, have yet to meet her. I can appreciate that theyre busy with other patients, but surely Dr. R. could spare a few seconds to speak (assuming shes still part of CCH). The staffers are usually nice and helpful. We. especially like Sheena; always friendly and seems interested . I do wonder if the place is as clean as can be. I notice that pet parents arent allowed in exam room sometimes and that concerns me. Of course that might bother the other fur babies and/or disrupt the doctors or even our baby. The 4 stars are because I question some issues; like equipment, overall cleanliness and pricing . Anna The front desk ladies have improved a lot from a year ago. Thanks for that!
