Trash-hole. They wouldnt let me call my mom or use the phones except with a case worker, but the case workers would never come to talk to me. They locked me up for 28 days giving me no idea as to when they would let me out and only 2 visits with the D.E. Once when I first got there and once on the 28th day. Me not knowing 28 days is how long they can legally hold you. and pretty sure I was raped during my sleep while drugged on ambien. Felt something short and bended to my left side go inside of me once and then leave and I was too groggy to tell if it was a human or if they anal probed me or what. And the doctor came in for conference with eyes as red as the devil. In the mental health unit. Nurses also just sat around and joked all day. I would find hairs in my meds and many of the nurses had terrible breath. One of the rooms housed a lady that pissed her pants in bed (no idea what disease she had) but it reeked for weeks and weeks after she left and I had to ask the cleaning ladies over and over to please do something about that room but instead they just used that room to house a poor mentally disabled woman who didnt seem to notice the putrid stench. (Worst smell of my life) Another time I walked down the hall feeling perfectly fine... I overhear a nurse say diarrhea and then an hour later I have the runs on the toilet after earlier that morning one of the dirt breath nurses was talking about how he had some firey Asian cuisine for dinner the night before or that morning or whatever. When I was discharged one of the nurses called me delusional earlier that week because I pointed out there was a lot of rust accumulating underneath the mattresses. I left that unit completely freaked out and terrified of what I had just witnessed. That was 9 months ago and it still scares me. Thank God I got out of paying because I am 22 and have no job or money, because their "care" was not worth a single penny. First day I got there before taking any meds I got a strange rash on my wrist and then I started getting weird symptoms like racing heart and numb tingling toes, things I had never had before. I was sent there from Boise St. Lukes and they did not even inform my mom where I was. Now, I know Intermountain ICU is terrible too, but this place is so much worse.

Do NOT, I repeat do NOT go to this hospital unless it is a life or death situation. In 2011 I took my young son to the emergency room because of a fever and a rash. The emergency room was a little busy at the time and we waited in the waiting room for about 15 minutes before the nurse called his name. She took me and my son into a hallway, outside of the exam rooms, and had us sit and wait on a folding bed until a room became available. Our wait on this bed was extremely long, at least 45 minutes. I overheard a nurse behind us talk to another nurse and they were complaining/arguing over who was going to take my sons vitals. No one wanted to. This upset me. After about an hour of sitting outside of an exam room on a folding bed, we walked out. I was furious. About 2 weeks later I received a bill that was coded that he received medical care and I had a balance owing. I disputed the balance right away, and sent an email to the department who is in charge of disputes and explained the situation. My son never had his vitals checked, he was not touched by any nurse or doctor, NOTHING but I still received a bill. Finally, 2 years later, in 2013 I received a letter stating that after reviewing the charges were found to be correct, that my son did in fact receive medical care, and offered me a payment arrangement to take care of the balance!! this has been the worst experience with a hospital I have ever had. I want it known how awful this hospital is and DO NOT use this hospital unless you absolutly have to!! the woman responsible for reviewing my account and saying it was accurate is Michelle Lewis. I will be calling her because there is no way I am paying a bogus charge when nothing was done to my son.

I went in for severe kidney pain and have a history of stones, so Im familiar with what they feel like. My OB sent me after cultures came back negative for infection and I had a high level of blood in urine. Was told to tell ER I needed a urologist to do an exam, since I cannot do a CT because Im pregnant. After 6 hours the doctor came in and said I might have stones and to just take tylenol. He refused to order a urologist, even after speaking with my OB and my OB strongly requesting one. I was discharged with antibiotics. My OB told me not to take them because they could cause serious harm to my baby and gave me a different kind of antibiotic. After 10 days of pain and losing 3 pounds I was again sent to ER by my OB for stones. ER refused to check for them, treated me like a drug seeker and sent me home again without any diagnosis other than blood in urine. Doctor was rude and said, "this is what you get when you choose to get pregnant". My OB is furious and filing a complaint for negligence. They requested the lab results from the ER and found out I had actual stones IN the urine sample I had given the ER. Because I was untreated, I could have gone into preterm labor and lost my baby. I will not be going there again.

My mother was referred to WVMC for further testing after a visit to the quick care clinic. What she thought would be a quick in and out visit turned into her being admitted for an overnight stay in ICU. Every single staff member that I encountered while I was there visiting was RUDE(With the exception of the Respiratory Therapist who just happened thru the ER room checking equipment. My mom had asked for a blanket as she was cold. The RT happily obliged and was back with some warm blankets within a few minutes)The ER Physician whos care she was under was extremely pushy and short with her. Even trying to put words in her mouth. I was absolutely appalled at the way she was treated. She was not offered ANYTHING to eat or drink after being there a few hours- not even water. She was finally given something to eat that night, but only after she had mentioned that she was hungry. The next morning she was brought meds- THAT WERENT EVEN HERS!! We have heard many stories of the shoddy care that others have received at WVMC, but until you experience it for yourself, you do not see how awful it really is. It might be time to revise some of the staff there. Incompetence and ill-mannered hospital staff are plenty at WVMC.

Nurses before and after my delivery were phenomenal. Went above and beyond and made me feel very comfortable. Unfortunately, my delivery was terrible. After 29 hours in labor, three hours of unsuccessful pushing, (I asked no students be in the room during my delivery and there were at least 5. ) THREE failed epidurals, and 6 failed vacuum attempts (my son later had to be in the NICU at St Lukes for a week due to a brain bleed caused by this negligence) I had to have a C section. My son wasnt breathing when he was pulled out. No doctors or nurses would tell me what was going on and he was rushed out of the room. While the doctors were sewing me up, the doctors and nurses were joking around about certain diets and laughing among themselves (I guess a baby with a 1 on the APGAR scale is comical). My son almost died had he not been transferred to the care of Downtown St Lukes. Now after my delivery Ive attempted 3 times to pay my bill and the financial department keeps taking my phone number due to being so busy, but no call back. I wouldnt recommend this hospital to anyone.
