I wish I had read these reviews before I chose this vet for my dog. I took her initially because she was limping on three legs and Dr. Liz was amazing at that time. She did a closed reduction of her hip, put the leg in an Ehmers sling and gave us pain medication to take her home on. She recommended I have her re-xrayed every three days while in the sling, and at $200 per xray I just could not afford to do so many, so I was in agreement to do one 10 days later and then again two weeks after before we removed the sling. When they called me 7 days after setting the sling they asked if I could bring her in for her xray and I told them I could not pay $200 that day, but if I could pay Friday I would gladly bring her in immediately. They told me I could apply for Care Credit, but I did not want to take out a credit line for a $200 bill I could pay literally four days later in full. I told them I would bring her on Friday to be xrayed when I could pay in full. On Thursday morning my dog pulled her foot from the sling, thus compromising the whole point of the sling, which at this point she had been wearing approximately 10 days. After removing the sling she was walking normally and bearing weight on all four legs. She continued in this manner for the next 5 days. The following Monday she got up, walked around normally and after about an hour was again limping on three legs. I immediately called the vet for an appointment. When we went to the vet Dr Liz was EXTREMELY rude. She insinuated I was incompetent and did not have my dogs best interest in mind. When I explained the circumstances of why I was unable to bring her back for xrays (money and then on the Friday I would have brought her in my own grandmother had a stroke and I left town immediately late in the night Thursday night) she had zero compassion. She kept repeating that my only option was now a $2200 surgery and that she tried to save me money by doing the closed reduction and insinuated that if I had paid for the xrays every two days we wouldnt be here (the xrays at those times would have been normal as the dog WAS walking normally after the sling was removed at 10 days). So as I see it we would have been in this position REGARDLESS of me paying for xrays or not. Acting as though I do not care for my dog was rude and uncalled for. I asked her if she could attempt a closed reduction again and she said "I wont because I cant trust you to bring her back for rechecks and bandage changes". This was the first Id even heard about a possibility of changing her sling at the two week mark. Initially it was ALWAYS going to be removed at two weeks if the xray was normal, which is would have been because at the two week mark she was WALKING NORMALLY. Needless to say we will NOT be back to this clinic and I would not recommend anyone bring their animals to this vet clinic. It seems that they are more interested in making money than caring for animals and they find humor in teaching pet owners expensive lessons when they dont get their way initially. My dog could have had her hip reduced last night, but because of the run around I got from ACC my only option this morning IS surgery. Had she not wasted my time yesterday ANY other vet could have set her leg back in place and I could have paid $500 instead of the $2200 Im now stuck with. Merry Christmas to me. "DOCTOR" LIZ is unprofessional, uncompassionate, and I wouldnt take my animals back to her even if it were a dire emergency. Id rather pay twice as much and take them some place who has their best interest in mind.

My family has been taking our "furry family members" to Animal Care Clinic of Fox Valley since 2000. Weve purchased kitty packages and puppy packages, dealt with swallowed items which required surgery, and injured tails which required mending. We have our dog, Rogan, groomed regularly by loving groomers Ashley & Liz. Through all of our pet events, Animal Care Clinic has treated our pets & family with the highest level of care & respect. We recently lost our cat of 16 years, Oliver. Dr. Sharon was wonderful with our family. I have 3 children who were beside themselves with grief. She was tender & compassionate. She even told my children about how she remembered me bringing Oliver in when he was a kitten. I cant say enough about how wonderful I think the doctors and staff of Animal Care Clinic are. Ive recommended them to family and friends who are overjoyed with their care. I would recommend to anyone who is seeking knowledgable, quality veterinary care or grooming to bring your pets to Animal Care Clinic of Fox Valley. Your pets will thank you!

I love ACC. I love that I can get there without having to go on Randall. :) I got a new puppy from Petland and this is their partner vet so we decided to just stick with it. They have been absolutely great and allow you to visit the same vet every time if you wish (we love Cassandra). That has been really great for us so that when I take my dog there she sees the same person and has become friends with her, and its a positive experience. My dog ate a piece of an extension cord and I called them in a panic to try to figure out what the right thing to do was, and they asked to speak to a vet and told me exactly what I needed to do and I brought her in for an x-ray and they confirmed that she had eaten the wire and advised us to just wait it out. This may not seem like they did much but the peace of mind of knowing it was making its way through her system was everything we needed. The puppy package is great, and she really enjoys all the staff who work here.

In looking over the reviews I see some that are not good - of course some of those have no name shown, just Google User. We have been taking our dogs to Animal Care Clinic in Algonquin for 12 years and have always been completely satisfied. They are very caring and thorough. They return calls promptly rather than have a staff member call. Dr. Sharon and Dr. Paul are who we see. Dr. Paul sits right on the floor to examine the dogs and they are not at all nervous. Dr. Sharon at one time gave me her cell number as our dog was critically ill. Our daughter said that she saw whomever is available because she has like each vet they have seen. Another good thing is they are open limited hours on Sunday and as far as I know, do not charge any more than any other day of the week. Sonny starts whining and wagging when we pull in the parking lot.I have referred several pet owner friends to ACC. I think you can see all 4 of us are well pleased.
