I was a patient at FVIM about 5 years ago and recently went back for a simple prescription. As a returning patient Dr. Tomlin worked with me and he was very caring and helpful. However, when I received my bill I was charged an additional $73.29 for a "new patient exam". I called and eventually spoke with Joy the office manager for about 10 minutes. She said that I had not had an appointment in 3 years so according to "coding guidelines" I was given the "new patient exam" in addition to the doctors visit for the prescription. During my visit, at no time was I told that I would receive the additional exam but they charged me for it anyway. The office manager Joy said that she would not remove the $73.29 charge and that I should have asked about what exams I was receiving even though I was unaware of the "coding guidelines". Are you kidding me? Here is some advice for FVIM. Please give me the service I ask for, and if there are extra exams that are needed, simply tell me about them while Im there. Dont slip extra exams in my visit and say I should have asked or I should have known about the "coding guidelines". FVIM can make this right by negotiating my $73.29 charge, they have my phone number. If not, my family and I will not be returning to FVIM.

I started going to see Dr. Thomas Salvi about 8 years now, He is a wonderful doctor. He is a very good listener and try to make you feel better and leave there knowing he cares. I have had many health issues and he has always taken good care of me. I would and will refer friends and co-worker to see him. I was going to another doctor and when I got married my husband told me to just try Dr Salvi and I have not changed doctors since than. I have had 2 neck surgerys and I have to go to him for my physicals and he is always so happy and cheerful. Yes it is sometimes very hard to see him but if it can wait believe me he is worth it. Thanks Dr Salvi your one of a kind. UPDATE:: I seen Dr Salvi on 2/17/17 and Everytime I go to see him it such a pleasure ( you would think like what why would it be a pleasure) Hes always in a joyful mood and he will try his hardest to help you and he does atleast for me he does. Hes a Dr that listens to you fully and thats great. Another great appointment. Thanks Dr. Salvi

While the physicians are great the management and especially the billing department are among the worst Ive ever encountered. On 4 separate occasions they have skipped the billing process entirely and sent information straight to their third party creditor Harris & Harris, Ltd. The first bill received is a threat from their creditor. An attempt to call and remedy the situation resulted in being placed on hold until you hang-up. To add insult to injury, after paying the amount due, Ive received addituondl bills from Harris & Harris Ltd for the same service, this time for even more. After being a loyal customer for decades (when they were called Fox Valley Internal Medicine) Ive had enough. Do yourself a favor go elsewhere.

I dont believe people understand what has happened to CPC FV since takenover by Centegra. Provider Based Billing is your enemy! When you walk in the reception will ask for your co-pay but when they code the bill it will not be listed as a co-pay it will be listed as a "Facilities Charge". Now your insurance company thinks you went to the Hospital for services not a Doctors office. This means higher cost for you as you are now clasified as an out-patient. Some great people at CPCFV but not worth the added costs. If you like CPCFV and want to continue to use them work with your insurance company to locate "Free Standing Facilities" for lab work, exrays, etc... to minimize your costs.

Billing department is incompetent. Web Developers are incompetent (try the "reset password" tool -- doesnt work). They will tell you theyre going to provide an exact cost of a service provider, and then, "Oops, this costs $1500 more, tough luck". Everyone at the company will blame someone else at the company, but the end result is that youre on the hook for their mistakes unless you want to go to collections. Lying & crooked company that I will never be doing business with again.

I am a former patient of Dr.Tomlin and FVM so I bring a different viewpoint to this practice. We moved to Florida a year ago and the search for a good doctor was very difficult. I finally found a decent doc here in central Florida and I like him a lot. Now, here is my perspective on Dr Tomlin and FVM. There are none better. Dr. T. is smart and up to date on medicine. He is everything I wanted in a personal physician.

Not helpful. They dont take emails, or pictures of your insurance card.
