Shockoe Dentistry is a truly great dental practice! For a downtown location, parking is surprisingly easy, and its super convenient from the interstate. The staff is incredibly friendly and super easy to work with - because I also work in an appointment-based industry, scheduling appointments for myself can be challenging. Shockoe Dentistry was very patient with me in finding a date and time that works and even offered to send me a reminder to schedule in 6 months instead of scheduling it now then having to change it later. Dr. Lipscomb and all of his hygientists are very gentle and make dental work as quick and painless as possible (I am an admitted hater of dental work). For my recent appointment many of their clients were running late due to icy conditions, but they worked diligently to make sure they got me out of there at my promised time so that I was not late for MY appointments. All in all it is truly a phenomenal dental practice!

I was eating a Snickers bar when I bit into something hard, and I knew it wasnt a peanut! Part of my molar cracked off! I made an appointment with Dr. Lipscomb to see if I could get the hole in my tooth repaired or filled. The procedure took less than an hour, and Dr. Lipscomb always checking to see if I was uncomfortable or if I was ok. He saw that I winced a little bit and he offered me more anesthesia before proceeding so that I wouldnt be in any discomfort. I think this is what separates Dr. Lipscomb from all my past dentists, in that he actually cares about the condition his patients and they are not just a number. He didnt push any services on me or try to promote anything. He did find two cavities and I know I will be going back to his practice to get them filled!

Dr. Lipscomb and his staff are truly amazing. Everyone is so kind and they all seem to enjoy what they do. Dr Lipscomb is extremely patient, gentle, kind and most of all, his dental work is top notch. He has a great sense of humor and really puts you at ease when you are in the dental chair. My daughter just had her first filling done and was amazed that she "never even felt the needle!" Its refreshing to really be able to trust your Dr. and relax knowing you are in excellent hands. Its pretty amazing that I would say I loved my experience at any dentist... but it really was an excellent experience. Let me first say, I have never had a good experience at the dentist. But this place was so different! My hygienist, Kathy, was so gentle while she cleaned my teeth and Dr. Lipscomb was awesome, proactive and encouraging. Of course I need work done; its only been years since I went to the dentist. However, the staff seemed very concerned with my comfort and the cost of my treatments than I was. Everyone was so courteous and nice. Highly recommend.

I moved back to Richmond and found Dr. Lipscomb on Twitter one night. I was intrigued by his screen name and looked up his website. I saw a $50 discount on a cleaning just by mentioning twitter, and decided to give it a try. I was so impressed by the cleanliness, the friendly people, and overall experience I booked my next appointment that day. I felt like I knew him before I even walked in the door. Id rather deal with crappy parking than a crappy experience.

I went to Shockoe Dentistry in order to get my bi-annual teeth cleaning done and simply put, my experience was perfect. The receptionist was very friendly to me as soon as I walked in and was very helpful explaining all the forms I had to fill out. Kathy, my Dental Hygienist did a very through job cleaning my teeth and answered all of the questions I had about keeping them in better shape. Dr. Lipscomb was just as friendly. Dr. Lipscomb and his hygienist are fantastic. I am not generally a fan of dental work, but I have never had a better experience than I did at Shockoe Dentistry. I would highly recommend them. They took great care to make sure I was comfortable. They actually explained things to me so that I understood what needed to be done and what was going on as it was done. As one who hated going to the dentist, Dr. Lipscomb and his incredible staff was/is able to set me at ease and take great care during my examinations, repairs and Xrays. The staff is friendly and willing to meet my needs when an issue arise. Cant say I enjoy going to the dentist, but this dentist is easily rated as my favorite.

Within walking distance of any part of Downtown Richmond or the Capitol, this dentists office rocks! I was able to walk from my downtown office within a couple of minutes and they saw me right away. The hygienist was kind and professional and really listened. Great cleaning, great service!
