This dentist is solely out for the cash. She claimed all of my wisdom teeth have cavities, so they "need" fillings. Then, only after they are filled, she wants to schedule a day for me to get them all extracted. Of course, everybody knows you need to get a filling for a tooth thats going to be pulled! Scam. Sorry, but that is a scam at its purest. Dont believe me? Ill show you my file. And FYI, the above is fraudulent behavior. They make you pay for work that you dont need/wouldnt need, and charge insurance companies money that wasnt needed. This is a complete scam, and it makes me seriously wonder how many teeth of mine really needed work or not. Her staff will make mistakes and then blame it on the patient, claiming that you werent specific enough or something along those lines. I made an appointment for a specific tooth (with my mother there), they said okay and scheduled it. When I showed up, I found out that they never even listened, because they had me scheduled for three teeth on the other side, and periodontal scaling. I told them politely that they were mistaken, but the nurse wouldnt take my word for it. After confirming that I was indeed telling the truth, the original nurse told me that I was wrong, another nurse came rushing in and proceeded to tell me that I needed to get my story straight because its all my fault and they dont have time for people to make mistakes. Dr. Patel came in and told me that she could switch to the other side of the mouth, even though the nurse had already numbed me, and that she would do whatever I wanted. Before I could even answer, she turned around and left. When she came back, she just began her work. So she pulls out the drill and as soon as she put the drill on my tooth, I felt immediate pain. She gave me another shot, waited maybe a minute, and then went back at it. I told her that it still hurts, it feels cold, and it really hurt. Her response? "Pain is normal. The bottom teeth are more sensitive and its normal for you to feel pain." And then she continued on. Im sorry. I get the shots because Im NOT supposed to feel pain. The shots make me feel drowsy, numb, shaky, and it makes me feel like Im going to vomit. I go through 2-4 shots, and all of those side affects, so I dont feel the pain of the drill. The bottom teeth might very well be more sensitive than the upper teeth, but in no way should I be subjected to excessive levels of pain because she believes its normal. When she allows for your mouth to be rinsed, they put the vacuum in for only 1-2 seconds before pulling it out again. That leaves a ton of liquid sitting in your mouth, and should you breathe through your mouth, you would breathe the liquid in. By the way, when theyre trying to dry a filling, they tell you to hold your mouth open or else theyll threaten to do it again. Do they offer you the vacuum sucker? NOPE. Also - yes, they THREATEN to put you through the whole ordeal again. Isnt that just such a kind beside manner? After the numbing wore off, I noticed that my entire jaw and head hurt pretty badly. I expected the tooth area to be a bit sensitive for a day or two, maybe even three days. Its been a week and the pain has only gotten worse. Just to get by, I have to take 8 advil a day. I have severe headaches, I cant eat on the side that was worked on, and the opposite side of my jaw hurts even worse than the side that got the work. If I dont take the advil, I cant even sleep because the pain is just too much. Maybe the tooth that got worked on should hurt for a week. But my entire jaw should not be in pain. I shouldnt have to nibble in order to eat. I should be able to eat with the filling, but I cant. Hot and cold foods now sting my teeth, whereas before I had no issues with them. The filling wasnt even done properly, and made my tooth have a crater. It never hurt before, but it sure does now. I could go on and on about this terrible place. Im not the only one in my family who has been to her and experienced issues. Bottom line - STAY AWAY.
