DO NOT GO HERE!!!! ALL CREATURES JUST ACROSS TOWN IS AMAZING!!! Girls that assist seem nice enough, the Vet, Steve maybe? Just seems shady and is rough with animals. I brought my puppy in when I first got him, he had a spot of mange on his cheek that needed oitment. The visit consisted of the vet telling me he needed to do a skin scrape (fair enough), brings me back to a microscope after disappearing for 10 minutes, shows me bacteria, seemed a little fishy but I was just worried about my puppy that I got a few days ago. Next he needs to grow the bacteria just to make sure that nothing more serious is going on, again fishy but ok Im just worried. Leave with a couple hundred dollar bill for just ointment ($30? for a small tube) that cleared it up right away. Being a vet, Im sure he knew thats all it would take to get rid of it. Only went back after that for half-priced shot day for the rest of his puppy vaccinations. Doc looks at chart, opens cabinet, pulls out a specimen jar (unlabeled, just a clear jar), goes see the culture didnt grow so were ok. What a scammmmmm, doesnt care about animals, just money, and either hes always tired or is a drug or alcohol addict because he seems out of it and Ive been around enough of those to know. Please just try All Creatures, the best staff that really cares about your animals, always have low priced meds, and the "half price" vaccines at LZAH are cheaper every day at All Creatures. If you truely love your pets, and dont like wasting money, STAY AWAY FROM LAKE ZURICH ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!!

We have an awesome Vet close to home (Vernon hills Animal Hospital) but when we rescued our puppy from a shelter we were offered a "low cost spay" and decided to go that route! HUGE HUGE HUGE mistake. It turned out our "low cost spay" was just the surgery. LZAH charged us extra for main meds, fluids etc. Everything that you would think would be included. Then we were told we would receive a phone call post surgery to let us know our puppy was OK, no phone call. After being worried all day we phoned and was told she was all right and asked about picking her up that night or if there was someone that would be present all night incase she encountered complications. NO ONE was going to be present at night. I had to leave work early to pick her up so I knew she would be watched and OK. They didn’t give her anibiotics or pain meds. They also recommended putting Hydrogen Peroxide on her incision. I called our Vet today and they were so understanding and confirmed my worries about putting Peroxide on her incision. Big NO NO. We are taking our puppy to VHAH tonight to make sure the botched spay is all right. I feel so horrible putting our dog through this experience and would never ever want another pet owner to experience this. If you need a good caring vet visit Vernon Hills Animal Hospital. I can not rave enough about them

I only leave reviews, good or bad, when they are merited. In this case, I have to give LZAH 5 stars because they acted in the best interest of my dog, Bella. I had been taking Bella to PetCo/Smart to get her vaccinations. At one point, I got a call from them saying Bella had Lymes; I needed to see a regular vet. So, I read reviews and went to Dr. Pritkins practice. At first, I was underwhelmed. However, in reflection, thats his approach and charm. He is very knowledgeable, common sense and down to the earth. There is no pretense. When he saw Bella, he gave me all the options. Due to cost, I settled on his reco of pulse therapy with antibiotics, versus retesting and multiple tests. Fast forward a year later, at regular vaccination time, he suggested we test for Lymes again as a gauge, plus all the other vaccinations that were due - which, by the way, his half priced Fridays cant be beat! The next day, Saturday after Thanksgiving, when he could have been sleeping in, he called my cell early and cheerfully gave me the news, that Bella, in fact, did not test positive for Lymes.

Wow. Other businesses - veterinary or not - can definitely take their cues from Dr. Steve. I walked in for 9:30AM appointment and I was actually greeted warmly with a SMILE. Good luck finding that unless you are staying at the Four Seasons. The appointment was scheduled so that my time in the waiting room was brief. In fact, I did not even have to sit down. I received dedicated attention from both Dr. Steve and his veterinary assistant, Elena. I have found that some doctors are very stand offish and condescending. I found Dr. Steve to be the opposite. He is very congenial. And, he answered all of my questions with a genuinely friendly and sincere disposition. I found Dr. Steve to exemplify both integrity and trust. And, after the appointment, I placed a call to a friend to tell him where he needs to bring his dog. There are gems and there are treasures. Dr. Steve is the latter.

I have a soon to be 6 year old Italian Mastiff. He isnt in the best of health and has a few genetic issues such as chronic ear infections, stiff hip and elbow joints and what amounts to puppy acne. This vet has been so helpful! Other vets have made us come in for everything. When my dog has a flair up, this vet allows us to simply call in a request for medicine saving us the expense of a needless visit. They have been quite honest and open about what medicines we need and which ones arent essential. They have been most accommodating in every reasonable way. When they arent swamped the are more than willing to make small talk and engage us. When they ARE busy, they still take the time to be cordial and polite. Im not sure what some people expect from a vet but I dont pay them to be my friends, I pay them to treat my dog with the utmost professionalism and they do that without exception.

I am so thankful to have gone to this veterinarian. My cat was not eating and had blood in stool and vomit. My kids and I took our cat to this vet to discuss our options. turns out our beloved princess had a fist size cancer mass in her abdomen. He helped us make a difficult and humane decision. I could not believe his empathy and compassion towards us as we stayed with princess until the end. We loved our cat and was so grateful to have a knowledgeable and compassionate staff to help us through this journey. I can not thank them enough. Thank you Dr. and staff.

My husband and I have used this clinic for 15 years, even though we live over 25 miles away. The drive is well worth it. It amazes me as to how expert Dr. Pritkin is in diagnosing problems. He has always cured our baby, treating him with skill, caring, and kindness. One evening we had to take Thai to an emergency clinic at night. We called Dr. Pritkin, and even though it was late, he spent 30 minutes talking with us and the vet. Of course, his recommended treatment worked. I give Dr. Pritkin my highest recommendation.
