Weve been bringing our kitties here for a little over a year now and we love it! From the front desk to the vet techs to the doctors, the staff is great; you can tell that they really love what they do. When you come in youre greeted by Beatta and Morgan (the sweet lazy kitty), and you automatically feel like youre in the right place. Weve had a few health issues with our kitties, including an episode that became life-threatening but didnt have an obvious origin. During that time we were in their office every day trying to figure out what was going on with our kitty and keep her from getting worse. In the end we had to have her hospitalized at Blue Pearl, which worked out great too. During this whole ordeal Dr. Fritsch was very concerned, I could tell how much she really cares about our pets. Its nice when you have a vet that listens to your concerns and gives you great care, but its such a bonus to have vets and staff who make you feel like family. I highly recommend this animal hospital. Hint: if you have any on-going health problems or an aging pet and dont have pet insurance, buy into their Paws Plan, itll save you money in the end (especially with those pricey dental cleanings).

I wouldnt even give them 1 star. The staff is "nice" sure because thats their job. Unfortanetly they try to sell you memeberships that doesnt seem to work. Apparently they save you "money", but at the end of the day you always have an "OUTSTANDING BALANCE" that needs to be payed off just to get your dogs nails trimmed. I mean I understand the staff didnt charge me for what it was supposed to be charged but thats not my fault. I still have to pay for it because it was added to my balance. (Ofcourse they never call me back to let me know about that) They said "a manager" will call you on Monday But they forgot to tell me the year. Yet they sold me into that membership like crazy. (I just wanted a rabies shot) I didnt think they care more about the money than my pet❤ Now everything seems to be an extra charge every time I tried to go in. Apparently I have 15% "services" but grooming isnt included. It includes the visits that "have no charge" because its included in the membership so I guess thats a good deal for them 15%off a visit thats completely "free" because of that $350 membership.. wow what a deal!! I wish I could back in time and never listed to the "very nice staff".

Had an emergency on a one hour old pug puppy on 8/31/16 and my usual vet office was not available due to a 2 hour lunch break. Contacted Lake Street Animal Hospital and received the best and most professional and caring attention. Waiting for my arrival and immediately took puppy for evaluation. I authorized surgery which is very difficult and risky on a pup only an hour old. Pup came through and looked great. Surgery was to amputate right fore leg that the mom had chewed off. Pup came home and nursed and was doing well and made it through the night. Unfortunately the mother culled the pup along with another pup which was the runt of the litter of 7 pugs when my husband turned his back for a moment. Even though our pup that we named Sloan for Warrior Fighter is no longer with us I have nothing but praise for the Doctors and staff at Lake Street Animal Hospital. Because of this wonderful experience of being a non client in this emergency situation I will be giving Lake Street Animal Hospital all my future business in caring for my 5 remaining pups along with the parents, my other dog which is a lab and bengal cat. I highly recommend this veterinary practice.

I found out about Lake Street Animal Hospital at a PetsMart Puppy training class from a lady whose Javanese Bichon puppy was in the same class as my beagle puppy. I was looking for a vet that was closer than Geneva Animal Hospital, where Illinois Animal Rescue had set up vaccinations for my rescue pup. We first tried Roselle Animal Hospital, which was very expensive. The doctor is technically great and saved Lucy from getting unnecessary medication. However, Lucy kept screaming in a high pitched way when the staff handled her. They said she wasnt in pain and called her a drama queen. We started looking for a more reasonably priced vet. The first time Lucy and I came to Lake Street Animal Hospital, the front desk staff was cooing over her like I do. The front desk staff, technicians and doctors are both caring and thorough. My approach is more holistic and I cook meals for Lucy. Even though the practice is traditional, Dr. Bowman was open to home-cooked meals and suggested canine supplements. Their prices are very reasonable and I can get appointments quickly when I needed them. I would definitely recommend bringing your pet here.

The receptionists are incredibly nice and thats about the only compliment I can give. The vets did also see my pup last minute which was nice, but I never got an actual answer when I thought he was sick. Rest assured though, I did pay hefty bills for no answers and I wouldve paid whatever the bill was to make sure he was fine but when you never get an answer it gets old. Im so happy NOT to have them as my vet anymore. I thought all but 1 vet were disinterested in their job and were rude quite frankly. Shocked because I was referred here by a friend and havent been so disappointed by a referral ever. They ended up canceling my PAW plan without telling me and when I asked why no one cared to call, my answer was "we did you a favor,"...I wouldnt call that a favor-more like bad service. Never going back and my pup already loves his new vet. If youre close in the area Hanover Park vet is the place to be with longer hours and 7 day availability with better plans. Also, turns out my dog has allergies which he needs meds for; weird it took a year and a half to find that out. So long.

Lake Street Animal Hospital is by far the best, friendliest, most hospitable animal hospital I have ever been to. Every employee here is so kind and caring it amazes me. The reception team is so much more than a reception team. I only started going there a few months back and they know me and my dog, George by first name. I walk in and we both seem right at home. Dr. Bowman is the doctor we see and she is the best. You can tell how caring and sweet she is. She has done wonders for George. Her caring professionalism cannot be matched. The staff works with you on everything. They continue to go above and beyond for both our beloved pets and their customers. I currently live in Itasca but even if I were to move back into the city I would definitely make the commute to bring George to his and my favorite animal hospital. I also highly recommend the package they offer that include 4 doctor visits and free nail trimmings for a year.

Will no longer take my pets here. Had 2 dogs and one cat. Paid for Paw plans on all 3. My one dog Jaxx had accounting error done on him at end of his Paw plan. We were billed again. Ok we wanted to get his rabies and distemperment. Told we had plan until end of April so make an appt to have these done before it expired. I come in on 4/26th at 15 until 1pm and wait 25 mins then bought in and asked simple questions about Jaxx. Then I asked to make Paw plan covered everything he begins to tell me it expired last month. Called wife she talked to him and explained the situation. He talked to front desk says plan expired. You people need to get your act together. We come to you for over 3 years and I guess we are liars now? Nice way to try and get us to come in and charge us I walked straight out. What a joke of a business.
