Our family dog was in a terrible accident as a puppy. Her tail was ripped out of her which caused the hip to break in several places. With love an care from her previous vet in the area she recovered well. However now that she is 9 managing her arthritis in her hips is our main focus. Zoey would lick and lick her paw to the point where it was raw. We would take her to many vets and they would just prescribe an NSAID and antibiotic for her "constant bug bite in the same spot?". Both are not good to be on long term. When Dr. Riggs came to town we took Zoey in to get her spot looked at and medication once again hoping Dr. Riggs could help her out. Dr. Riggs noticed her tail was missing and asked if it was breed or accident. We told her what happened to the tail and it was all up hill from there. She put her on a joint supplement and within a month we had our spunky, fun, running, playful dog again. Dr. Riggs and her staff are so caring and would do anything to make the pets comfortable in any given measure. I highly recommend Dr. Riggs and her staff for your animal health care needs.

I have been taking my dogs to Lorrie for a couple years, but I am done now. She is fine with booster shots, BUT beware if you have serious medical issue. She diagnosed my dog with having a bulging disc in his back and gave him a "laser treatment" said basically bed rest for 2-4 weeks with muscle relaxers and Predizone. We confined him as she stated and when he didnt get better, I called and asked to speak to her about my dog. She couldnt take the call, three days later, one of the technicians called to ask what I needed. In the meantime, i took him to another veterinarian, which recommended x-rays. Got the results today, torn medial patella ligament in his knee, which is why he was sitting with his leg out. X-rays showed no issues with the discs in his back. Ridiculous. My poor dog has been in pain, let alone the hundreds of dollars spent. If you care about your dog like I do, go somewhere else.

My dog Louis had a foreign body (which we did not know when taking him in) All we knew was that he was not acting like his normal self. When my mother brought him into Red Barn Dr. Riggs immediately did radiographs and a barium study within the first 10 minutes of him being there. Louis vomited the barium up before it would make it through she made the decision to do surgery - even though she had other surgeries planned for the day and many other things to do she put Louis first and indeed it was a foreign body. Dr. Riggs and the technicians love the animals that walk through that door and would stay till 8pm every night if thats what it would take. If I had to redo anything about Louis visit to Red Barn I wouldnt. I would choose Red Barn, Dr. Riggs, and all the technicians. They all love their job and its evident I knew Louis was in the best care.

My experience at Red Barn was MAGNIFICENT! The staff were all friendly and they expressed genuine joy to see my pet and others as they came! I took my dog to Dr. Riggs and she diagnosed him with disc disease. She sent some meds to help relax his muscles as they were very tense and reduce inflammation. Between the meds and the help of my family reducing play, running, and stairs as possible, he is on his way to recovery. It has been a long process, but she informed me it can take a long time to heal. I couldnt imagine where I would be without Dr. Riggs help. My dog could have been paralyzed had she not taught me how to properly care for a pet with disc disease. She really knows what shes doing! Many of my friends and family go to her and all have good things to say! LOVE RED BARN!

I take both of my cats here and I just love it. The staff is always very kind to me and they handle my cats with care, even when they are a little cranky. Ive never had a problem getting my girls in when they are sick. I would highly recommend going here.

Vets assistant was not very knowledgeable. Took hour half before we got out of there for shots . Other than that was good and cheaper than Decatur clinic
