Have taken my dog there since I first got him. He is now 13. Kind staff to me but some things feel like they try to get money from you on services you do not need. Firstly when my dog had a surgery they did a thyroid test to make sure he would do ok. During a check up they talked me into paying for another one (maybe 4 months later) before I realized he had already gotten one for him (this was just a regular check up he was not seeming like thyroid was bad). They said he gained weight (two pounds...) and I told them he does every winter. They still talked me into it. Another time we boarded him for a week and they called me, making me feel quite panicked, saying his blood pressure felt low and I should get a thyroid test.... I was not thinking. Got it done. He was fine.... course his blood pressure would be low. He is in a kennel, not active, and probably sleeping all day. The last thing I was not happy with at all is when he had a surgery. Needed two back teeth and a bump on his eye lid that had puss removed. They started on his teeth. Then called me to tell me his blood pressure dropped (which I found is actually normal) and asked how important it was for me to remove the eye sis... how the hell should I know that??? They told ME I needed to have them remove it. I am not the vet! I told them I would like it removed if they could so I would not have to do a second surgery. Then panicked again once I got off the phone, called them back asking, "If something goes wrong you will stop the surgery right?" The nurse replied, "I will let the surgeon know!" The hell is that supposed to mean?! So anyways, these people worried me and sent me into full panic at times. Other times I would get a good vet... it is 50/50. I did like at times when we boarded him they would get to know him well enough to let him walk around the office. That was nice they let him do that instead of being cooped up.

I SHOULD have listened to all of my neighbors when we moved here a year ago! They all had major BAD experiences with this place, but we went here JUST to purchase needles & food for our diabetic cat when we were getting low. I had an issue with a very unprofessional & RUDE office girl, & being a retired office manager myself, I felt I should speak to the Mgr. (Joseph) about it. It was obvious he did not care & was in complete denial. We drive 50 miles (rt) to a great clinic in Portage & are VERY pleased with it, however we just needed to get our cats glucose checked, & Portage said if they need his history we will send it, which they were kind enough to do for this appt. Today, a very RUDE office staff person called & they had our name mixed up as well as our cats name, & she said,"Im sorry, but we refuse to see you or even sell needles or cat food to you because you were not happy with our clinic." Now we will be going back to our clinic even if it is 50 miles (rt) just for a glucose check. I have never made comments on clinics before, but I felt I needed to let other people know just how horrible this clinic is! We only went there a few times for needles & food, & they STILL GOT OUR NAMES & FILES MIXED UP under other names. I truly have NEVER met such unprofessional clinic staff in my life! (I will say there was one girl at the desk that was very sweet, but forgot her name)~now we are just plain thankful that we are not even going there for a glucose check, as Im not sure they would know how to do that, & would probably put the info. under another name. Be CAREFUL & next time I WILL LISTEN TO MY NEIGHBORS especially when we are new to the area!

This is a very very bad vet clinic to go to. They have serious problems with office management, including but not limited to an office manager with a nasty surly attitude, getting records wrong, not listening, not correcting records, telling you one price on the phone and dramatically hiking up the price when you get there, not being timely in handling customers, being presumptuous about what care your pet is given, being condescending and treating you with the assumption that you are somehow inferior and inept. Worse, they get the diagnosis wrong, but still do unnecessary procedures, then prescribe unnecessary medications, and overcharge you. The veterinarians do not appear to be knowledgeable and do not make themselves available on a timely basis. They do not handle many procedures themselves but shove them off on underlings. On the whole, one gets the impression that they cant afford the building mortgage payment. Worse, when I used them for some of my pets and gave them as a reference for an adoption -- BIG MISTAKE -- they dissed me out to the adoption organization and trashed me based only on their faulty files and lack of information. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC, YOU WILL REGRET IT AND YOU WILL BE OVERBILLED.

I have both taken my pets to Log Cabin and worked there as a relief veterinarian. I recently had two of my pets there for dentals, one was routine and the second extensive/lots of health/teeth issues. They have a top rate technician staff: anesthetized my dogs, monitored them, efficient teeth cleaning and dental x-rays. They have great protocols: everyone gets pre-anesthesia bloodwork, IV fluids, dental rads, blood pressure monitoring, etc...Now this protocol is not the case in every clinic I work at, this is not cheap, and not every client can afford this. Also, their hospital is clean, they have good equipment, their building is in good shape and their staff is trained well. (that again is not the case at every clinic I work at) Dr.Vincent runs a pretty tight ship there. Most clients seem pleased with the care and treatment they receive, but I was sorry to see the negative reviews. I too expect courtesy, respect and professionalism wherever I take my business. It is important to speak up when this does not happen. But I saw no lack of courtesy, respect and professionalism when I have been there. I recommend Log Cabin for your pet.

We had our puppy fixed over a month ago. We liked how clean it was and how nice everyone was. however ive seen a couple of dogs after they have been spayed and none looked like hers. she is still losing stitches and they bunched up her skin so much i dont think it will heal right and flat. it looks like they used normal stitches on the inside instead of dissolvable. Im worry about her health and healing so we have to go back to get her checked out.

We have a one year old schnauzer and she is all puppy. Needless to say we have been to Log Cabin many times this year for her. They are wonderful and treat us like family. I trust them completely with my pet and would recommend them to everyone. Their prices are fair and in line with everyone else. They give top notch service and have never had a problem. We love our baby and would only trust her care to Log Cabin.
