This review is a little late. However I feel that I am obligated to inform. About 2 years ago, my wife I brought our Border Collie/Brittany Spaniel (Sadie) in as an emergency visit as I was throwing Frisbee to her and she came down paralyzed. We rushed her in to this vet. Scared, Crying we were told that she had FCE. Our next decision was the hardest we had ever made. Sadie was our baby, we loved her as a child. She had been with us for 7 years from a pup. We brought her home to spend one more night before taking her back. Sadie was a Frisbee dog and always had her rubber Frisbee in her mouth waiting for someone to throw. We felt that she would never have a full life and we were scared. So we took her in to have her euthanize per recommendation of vet. We set up a payment plan with the vet and they ended up billing our account double and putting us overdrawn after we had it fixed the next payment went to collections. We have had nothing but problems ever since. We had lost our baby, and all they could care about is their remodeling. they were rude, unfair, and now we wonder if we even did the right thing or should we have had a second opinion. I would never go back and would advise people to not trust them. I thought that Vets were people that chose this career because of their love of animals. I was wrong well atleast in this case with this vet clinic. Please be aware

I started going to Anamosa Veterinary Clinic just after Christmas last year (2013). My beautiful, faithful companion, Sophie, a yellow lab, was suffering badly from a condition called stomatitis. Though her time with me ended last week, I wouldnt do anything differently. Under Dr. Darrows care, everything that was a reasonable consideration for treatment was tried. When it was time to say good-bye, though still very painful, I could rest assured that we did everything we could, and that this was the last, most loving act that we could do for Sophie. The entire staff has been very caring and supportive during our frequent visits over the last few months. They really go the extra mile. This clinic was busy each and every time we had an appointment, yet are still very accommodating and take the time you require to fully address your issues. It must also be said that they are very reasonable with their charges. I always felt that their services exceeded the dollar figure required. I dont know when my son and I will be getting another dog, but I do know which veterinary clinic we will be going to. Thank you for your kind care for both me and my Sophie Girl.

Failed to submit my first ofas so yes now i double check everything since it was never submitted on my first round.... the doctors have been great but right now im not thrilled with the staff and in particularly Courtney and Ashton. Also considering that my dog got rated Mild by OFA and when i posted the xrays online and top show breeders saw they they said the placement of my dog was bad and the quality of xrays were not the best also. I had already decided to take the elsewhere for OFA but now thanks to this email. It makes me want to no longer do business with them at all!!!! And my dog was supposed to have surgery next week.. Literally just dropped $300 there today and over $600 last month.... awesome!

My family has taken our pets to the Anamosa Vet Clinic for years, and they are the best in the business. It is a very family oriented place so they know how a pet is part of the family and have always treated my animals like one of their own. I lived in Des Moines for awhile and would make the two hour trek to go there and have my pets seen. They are thorough during check ups and provide frequent reminders when your pet needs a vaccine update or lab draw. I have had a few scares with my pets, and they have always been kind and compassionate during my emergency visit. Dr. Darrow has always done a great job of explaining all the options, their pros and cons, and what he thinks is best for my pet. I trust his advice, and believe he would do the same for his pets if presented with a similar situation.

Top of the line vet clinic and care. Working in the livestock industry I have been fortunate enough to work with many vets and clinics daily. Have had great experiences with all but Anamosas stands out near the top. I have also worked cattle with this clinic yearly and they provide top of the line execution and care. Not only that but I use Anamosa for my dog and they always treat her so nice that it takes hours for her tail to stop wagging once shes been there. I have to watch myself from saying words that rhyme with vet around her or she will be begging to load up.

Excellent service! Weve been taking our pets to the Anamosa Vet Clinic for years. Whether it be injuries or routine vaccines, Brian and his staff at the Anamosa Vet Clinic care about our animals. They provide quality care at affordable prices. They offer medications at lower prices that owners can afford. They respect customers time and treat our animals every time we come in. We really appreciate having such great service in the local community! I would highly encourage anyone needing small or large animal care to go to the Anamosa Vet Clinic!

The standout reason this Vet clinic gets 5 stars is because they offer their services and medications at a price most owners can actually afford. And, in my opinion they have never seemed to cut the quality of the service you and yours receives in order to cut costs. That and they offer Care Credit for a payment option as well. Now, if only they could open another location(s) Id be completely happy:)

I have been very happy taking my dog here for veterinary services. The cost is much more reasonable than Ive seen at other places nearby. It is kept clean. You can tell the staff care about the animals they are seeing.
