I would not go back to see this group of doctors. They never voluntarily shared information with me or involved me in the decision making process. For example, my platelet counts were tested twice and were low both times. Someone called me to say that they scheduled an appointment with a hematologist (without discussing it with me first). I had to get online to determine what the concern is with low platelet counts since the person that called me never shared any information with me except when and where my appointment was scheduled. I discovered that under 150 is considered low and my counts were 140 and 144. When I went to the hematologist, my counts were in the normal range, but the hematologist still drew several vials of blood and ran tests just because I was sent down there. I had the stomach flu when I was in the second trimester. I weighed less at the following appointment than I did at the previous appointment as a result of having the flu. The doctor looked at the chart, shrugged her shoulders and continued with the appointment, never saying a word about the sickness or weight loss. The doctors never palpitated my stomach at any time to determine the position of the baby. I didnt even know that someone could do this until I went to a different health care provider for my second child. Even at 36 weeks, the doctor didnt check the position of the baby. Furthermore, I ended up having a c-section at 37 weeks because of a breech baby and low amniotic fluid. I was told that I needed to go to the hospital the very next day (Christmas Eve). In light of information I have learned following the cs, I feel the doctor made the cs sound like it was more critical than what it was by only sharing with me the worst case scenario. I didnt find out until I was pregnant with my second child that the low amniotic fluid could have been due to dehydration. Considering that I had the stomach flu four weeks before the cs, I feel that I very well could have been dehydrated. I cant help but think the doctor wanted me to go to the hospital on Christmas Eve for a cs because she didnt want to monitor me over the Christmas holidays. Overall, I felt like I was treated like I was just another cow in the herd and was not allowed to actively participate in my prenatal care and birthing process.

I called and made an appointment that was scheduled three weeks out. I was scheduled for an exam and they didnt give me any information about the procedure or what not to do before I came. They asked me to come in 10 minutes early and then I waited 30 minutes after my scheduled time before I got in. Another lady came in with the same appointment time and doctor 20 minutes after me and got in before I did. They asked for a urine sample as soon as I stepped through the doors out of the waiting room. I had been waiting 40 minutes! I could have done it then! I was put in a room, given two pamphlets explaining the procedure and waited another 20 minutes before I got fed up and left. Never going back.

All the doctors at this practice are wonderful to work with, I have zero complaints and recommend them to anyone looking for an OB/GYN in the metro. I usually go to the Clive office, but all are very well run.
