Run Away! I went to Via Christi for normal appointments after going through a rough patch in my life. My insurance provider sent me here and I had never had any problems before with mental health. I felt like I more just needed someone to talk to and was against being placed on medicine. I discussed with my doctor that I just wanted direction on how to handle this myself so that whenever times were bad I wouldnt fall back into the state I was. I was assigned to one of the residents and was repetedly perscribed medicine. I tried a few, but ended up just having bad side effects with no benefits. I discussed again that I would not like to be placed on medicine but they continued putting me on it. I finally was fed up and asked why they kept doing it (at this point I had been through a few residents that had all done the same thing) and one of the doctors told me that if they did not perscribe me medicine the doctor that oversaw the residents would be angry and they would get in trouble. I cannot acurately portray how screwed up this place is. Run away screaming while you still have the chance!

ZERO stars. The staff here is negligent and authoritarian at best. We have private insurance and had to pay obscene amounts of money for further trauma. The only small benefit my child had from here was to meet a few friends of whom she was DENIED to befriend by staff. The only adult to help her was an intern, and that was the only staff member who was honest and open to her. The children who left here that she tried to maintain contact with are all still in suffering abusive situations and are still unstable. Finding help in Wichita is like finding gold, so good luck. Do not waste your time here unless you are just looking for to make the situation worse.

I was an inpatient there some years ago. They saved my life. The staff that I encountered were kind, caring, and respectful. I went there willingly because I wanted help, and they helped me get better. I cant say it was fun being there, but it was what I needed at the time. I highly recommend this facility--if you want help.

My daughter was on life support from trying to commit suicide last week. She was admitted on Sat. Eve, Easter was Sunday, she had no counciling and still wants to die. You dissmissed her today Monday at 11:00. You are a treatment hospital??? your place should be shut down.
