To start the lady at the front desk was very nice. Responded to us quickly once she finished with the other client and got us in our room. We sat in the appt room waiting to be seen and a vet tech entered (never introduced her self, but no big deal) asked a couple questions that needed to be asked. A few moments later the "vet" came in (never introduced herself either which was a deal to me if youre being incharge). Leaning over our 17 year old short hair cat talking to us asking whats been going on and we explained in great details exactly what happened. She stated that she wants to draw blood for testing which is fine. We tell her that he is a very grumpy and old cat and doesnt like people approaching his tail. She starts shaving our cats neck like normal, but oddly she starts taking blood infront of us not even asking if wed like to be in the room or not. Cat is flipping out and the vet tech holding him was not securely holding him and he spun around to try and attack. We grab our cat and he starts calming down instantly, but were told "dont touch him let him go". Uh, no we got him calm and held which you couldnt. So now the vet goes for the thigh which is ok also. They put a cone around his neck for safety which is fine. Vet tech still not holding our cat firmly at all and he gets loose again going wild. Stressed to the max, screeming, hissing, fighting, scared... we grab him cover his head with their towl and he starts to calm down. They say they have plently of blood for test and leave. Our cats neck and thigh is still bleeding and nobody cleaned or applied a gauze with ace bandage to stop blood. I personally had to use their stuff to clean my cat and their table because of the blood. My hands were painted with his blood. 10-12min later test results are back. She says internals are great, but never shows us. So we took the chart after she left and looked at the results ourselves. They come back in to give him 100ml of sub q fluid for hydration. I looked at the bag before and after injection and he was given maybe 50ml. Vet returns asking if we want x rays and we just want to leave by now. She instantly says we will have to sedate him not even giving us a option of a tech wearing x ray safety gloves and holding him. No, not sedating my 17yr old cat. We take our fluids ready to leave knowing we will alread be force feeding our baby. "Vet" tells us we would have to force feed, but we tell her yes we planned this already, but she doesnt offer any type of food that we should give him or anything. Worse experience Ive ever had at a vet. We only came here because it was close to the house and we had the emergency and wanted to get seen instantly. The "Vet" we had was very unprofessional and we will never recommend or return to this vet for anything what so ever. We will continue to travel to Louisville for our vet for everything. If there ever is an emergency we will go else where if unable to make it to our regular vet. Prices are cheap, but there seemed to be no compassion from the "vet", unprofessional, noncaring, and if you want your animals blood on your hands come here. Other wise. Spend the money and go to a vet the will care for your family member.

My daughter scheduled our dogs together for this appointment. They didnt seem to understand that even after being told again and again. They took my daughter and her dog back while I waited and she then had to wait while my dogs were being seen. I was very clear about the services I wanted and wanted to know the cost. I was told that the cost would be 79.00 or so. I do have 2 dogs the vet treated them with one application of an ear drop and didnt tell me until it was done that the mediation was "costly". My bill $240.00. I would think it appropriate to mention that this medication is 100.00 Id say that is costly. I will not be going back.

If your dog or pet needs you near to comfort them while they get shots, etc to keep them from having extreme anxiety, go somewhere else. I was told I "wasnt trained to hold a dog" when I knew my dog was going to lose it and had to sit across the room and watch him go through extreme (no exaggeration here) stress while getting his one year shots. Two of the vet techs out of the four were friendly while the vet was pompous and arrogant and talked to me like an ignorant child. Unwelcoming place, your pet will probably feel the same.

Dr. Albert is amazing. We have a reactive dog with a lot of anxiety, so taking her to the vet is not easy. Dr. Albert took the time the first appointment to make our girl feel comfortable, and continues to go above and beyond to do so. We cannot say enough good things about this office.

I have taken my dog and a neighbors cat. The vet was so loving to the animals and diagnosed the cat after x-rays as having his inner ear destroyed by someone shooting it in the head. I had been going all the way to Elk Creek but this clinic is so much closer for me. Love them!

I love my vets at Mount Washington Animal Clinic. I have taken my dogs there for 25 years, and plan on going there for all my pets needs. They explain the best options for the problem, and they have always treated my pets and me with great love and respect.
