I am new to the area and took my cat and my dog to Dr. Michaelson, because the clinic is close to my house. This was the most horrible veterinary clinic I have ever been to, and I have lived all over the country due to many moves over the last few years. Dr. Michaelson did not appear to be familiar with a couple of rather routine medications that my cat and dog are currently taking, nor was he familiar with several of the medical terms I used. I am still quite baffled by this. He continually asked his vet tech questions about medications, diagnoses, etc. when he didnt know the answer. The vet tech knew the answers immediately. I found his mannerisms to be odd as well - not really an animal person (?), nor a people person. Not that he has to treat people directly, but most definitely indirectly as our beloved pets cannot speak for themselves or answer questions. The other thing I found off-putting was that the receptionist, Jodi (who I later heard from another client is the wife of one of the vets), is passively very rude and if you politely question anything she says, (e.g. asking for more detail), she acts like you are being very difficult and demanding. The last straw was when I requested a prescription for my dogs medication, I was told by Jodi "No, we dont do that here." When I asked why, Jodi replied, "I dont think you need to come back here. You should take your business elsewhere." I couldnt believe my ears. I simply was asking for a prescription, and the reply I got was that I should find a new clinic. Let me reiterate, I was being asked to leave a clinic for simply asking for a prescription. How grossly unprofessional can you get? I was spending hundreds of dollars at the multiple visits and on tests, etc., and only requested one prescription so I could get a slight break from a pet medication supplier. Ive never been refused this anywhere - the vets have always been more than happy to oblige. Like I said, the very worst veterinary clinic Ive been to in the entire country. I now travel a few more minutes to our new clinic, but it is 150% worth it because I am very, very pleased with the care that my cat, my dog, and my entire family receives! The kind of care weve always been used to, and that all pets deserve.

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Haase and Michaelson for 10 years. I have had 5 pets treated by them. My springer spaniel lived to be 16 under their care. They also saved the life of the springer spaniel I have now. They are considerate and careful in their examinations and treatments. Dr. Haase always remembers who I am and asks after my mother and grandmother every time I see him, even if I am having an appointment with Dr. Haase. I am very attached to my dogs and cat, and they are never condescending when I am overly concerned about my babies. They are always honest with their opinions, even when I would rather hear something else. Even when I am unwilling to do what they suggest, they offer alternatives that are more suitable for me. I will never change to another vet. Even the vet assistants remember my dogs by name. I couldnt ask for better vets. I highly recommend this facility for anyone.

Dr Haase is a very knowledgable, professional and caring vet. My dog is kinda nippy and aggressive and Dr Haase never minds handling him or showing him affection. However, the rest of the staff are completely rude and unprofessional. The other doctors never seem to know what they are talking about, The receptionists always act like youre bothering them when you ask questions or ask for a receipt. They treat my dog like hes a burden WHEN IM THERE so I would hate to leave him alone with them! AND, they are wayy overpriced! They are always so quick to tack on the most expensive medications when there are other cheaper solutions that work just as good-but they wont tell you that. As much as I have enjoyed Dr Haase caring for my dog, I just cant bring him back because after I see him for 5 minutes and he makes me feel welcome, everything and everyone else makes me upset every time I leave.

Ive been taking my cat Nico to JAH ever since I moved to BR and couldnt be happier with the service. The entire staff has always been really friendly and was very welcoming when I first came. They are great at making you and your pets visit feel personal and not just like another patient. All the doctors that have seen Nico have been incredibly nice and made her feel calm and at home. Also, theyve all seemed to really know their stuff unlike some vets Ive been to in the past. I definitely recommend this clinic to anyone in the BR area.

Dr. Haas and Michaelson and staff has always been very caring to our Lab and have address our concerns. We we arrive they know the dogs by name. They took care of the dobermans thru they old age. Cleo died at age 17 and Brutus at 15. Our Yellow Lab just went through Heart worm treatment and we enjoyed the care and professionalism of the staff very much. We kennel our lab when we take trip and he is always happy and healthy when we come to pick him up.

Just moved here and had to get my dogs teeth cleaned. Best vet I have ever used for my dog. Very nice people there and the doctor was awesome. Matty was only there a few hours. Teeth look great. The doctor went the extra mile in checking for the dental chews if they were ok with my dogs c/d diet. So glad to find this place. Just go here you cant go wrong. Thanks again.

We were told we only had to bring in our pups stool sample (because we knew she had tapeworms) in order to get her some medicine. However, when they called us back an hour later, they refused to give us the medicine because lack of doctor and patient relationship. It was obviously about money, instead of our pups health.

Dr. Haase is as good of a vet as youll find anywhere. Hes great with people and gives fantastic care to our pet. Having been to the higher-priced clinics, we think this is the best value in Baton Rouge as its still be a high-end clinic with moderate prices. The very definition of a 5-star.

My animals are new patients of this hospital as of today. And even from just one visit, I love this vet office! Very clean and friendly staff. They all seem to actually care for your pets and will do anything in there power to help them.

This clinic is over priced, even for a vet. And watch out for those "check ups" they want to schedule. They will charge you all over again for an appointment that takes 2 minutes and probably isnt even needed. So disappointing
